Love the car. Don’t like the company
I overlooked a bunch of red flags and dove headfirst into investing in Fisker, which was totally on me. Turns out, this guy specializes in bankruptcies. I mean, who snaps up a 20 million dollar villa right off the bat? Clearly, they planned to hang onto it even if things went south. Just one deception after another, no real communication with investors, just leads us on to hold onto our cash. Henrik Fisker is just a con artist, and someone needs to put a stop to him tricking more dumb folks like me.

Hello from Fisker’s previously scheduled March 30 Chicago test drive event. We reserved a test drive a couple months ago. Unfortunately Fisker did not show up (not that surprised, to be honest). We never received an email letting us know the event was cancelled. Fortunately we made backup plans.

Thanks for the update. So my wife drove our Ultra for a 250 mile round trip vacation. In the way back, 10 miles from home with 60 miles on the battery, the car quit on the freeway. She was freaked out. She got to an exit after a complete stop. She was able to start it and go again and got home. But she does not want to ride in it again. She is scared now of the car quitting on her again. I emailed Fisker but haven’t heard anything yet. My wife wants to got rid of the car. Not good.

@@Aslash304Yesterday I finally got the software updated to Version 2.0 (1/2).
Honestly i wouldn't buy a new sport for even 15k because the locked software means that any tiny little bullcrap sensor going out means it's completely bricked and undrivable and if it can't be reset after being replaced as that's what has to happen for the computer to allow itself to be driven again. If fisker were to make a free computer program that'll let you do everything from your laptop with a usb obd2 cable then i'd actually buy one as that's the real fear. These cars literally get bricked over the tiniest of nonsensical and inconsequential "problems" like software glitches that can't be reset because of the proprietary software which will cease to exist when the support structure goes belly up.

I got what I was looking for. A good looking vehicle, unique and built well and not a Tesla. Are there missing features, yes, but compared to other offerings even at the top end One, I’m good. The future will be interesting for sure

"Not a Tesla" isn't a feature when you're facing the loss of cellular connectivity and complete loss of the mobile app when their servers shut down

Living in Vienna, Austria, I see a handful of Oceans around here. But there are no signs of price reduction (yet). In fact website states "there is no inventory available at this location at the time"...Btw, could Magna support the spare parts?
Magna does not sell parts to end users at retail level. Someone else would have to handle that, and then there's a ton of licensing issues, unless someone were to buy that line of business out of bankruptcy. This probably does not end well.

The Vista, CA location is no surprise. It is a BMW dealership that is part of an auto group bought up by AutoNation. The same group has Mercedes and Jaguar dealerships in the area. Plus most car dealerships in this part of California are large and high volume. So Magna Styre parts galore. From what I understand, the BMW dealership is in the process of moving to the next city over, Carlsbad. So this might become a Fisker only site? They already have the sign up. If things go completely sideways, they are one of the first I'm looking at for service.

Hopefully we get some good Easter eggs from Fisker that we weren't expecting, like a company that knows how to run Fisker buying it, and sending Henrik, Geeta and the other family members home while they turn it around for owners, investors and future customers. I have one and think it's a good product that should continue to improve and be available as an alternative to Muskmobiles

Maybe Karma Automotive will buy whats left of Fisker. They managed to make the old Fisker Karma something reasonably good, and their new Gyesera and Kaveya models actually look awesome. The more I read the more I think that no one wants to deal with the Fiskers, and once they're gone the Ocean could live on. At least that's what I'm hoping for all current owners worried about repair parts.

It's total bs. I have a BBB complaint open for last two months to get my deposit back. Fisker has not even bothered to reply to the BBB inquiry. That's how committed they are to address any issues.
This gives me confidence that they will definitely register the vehicles they are selling now at reduced prices.

Might be a good indication to run the other way as fast as you can.
I highly doubt that in their cost saving strategy, Fisker would design their own components. People keep acting like all the parts in the Ocean are unique to Fisker and Fisker alone. I’m sure most of the components and parts are easily purchased from Magna or whatever Chinese warehouse Henrik went to.
Save for a few parts, I don’t think it would be overly complicated to get components. Only issue might be shipping time from China.
Please feel free to publish the strategy of purchasing parts from a contract manufacturer
Have a silver lining; it’s ice blue when you look at it under artificial light or at an angle. If you look at it dead on in natural light it looks silver. The configurator on line is pretty bad so no way of knowing that before I bought. Weirdly they didn’t let me see the car before I bought it. Not loving the color is now the least of our problems.

If there won't be a guarantee of support, FW and SW updates for the infotainment and all of the ECU tree, it's not worth paper.

Tesla is like 65-70% of the current sales, and about 85% of the total registered EVs in the US.
is bidirectional charging still a thing with this car? that's the only reason I want to buy one. The massive battery is most important to me, although I get to drive the car. I just hope it last more than 5 years.
Nope. That software never existed
From a Canadian Fisker gave me no idea of where or if I could get mine delivered so I deleted my order months ago. Got a Mach E best car I’ve ever owned, so no regrets.

I am pretty sure you do have to have spare parts for a car you sell in the USA. This is why the early EVs had to be scrapped as they didnt ever make them for sale. Like that car that had the conspiracy as to why it was scrapped, it was never built to be sold, so you cannot sell it to the public.
I think Fisker really has suffered from bad timing, and they are a new company with what I would guess are expected issues. I think everyone likes the physical vehicle, its the software that is bad. I think the physical cars are great and they picked cars that america really wants. I hope they can somehow turn this around and make it. Having another maker in the EV space is nice and I really like the designs. They are normal looking cars that happen to be EVs. I do not get why all the EV cars look so weird. Just make optional power plants in cars.
Great feedback. Since parts have been hard to come by from Fisker, even before the bankruptcy potential, the future is very concerning.
Well. I found an Ocean Extreme, got several emails from Fisker. I am listed on their website as the buyer of the vehicle, with the VIN number I want and I see that my vehicle has been removed from their website for others to purchase. HOWEVER, the price still reflects the full price before the reduction. The email I got says that the price reduction will be coming. I am ready to pay for the car and complete the purchase but it's been 5 days and nothing yet. So, I have no idea if I am locked in on this Ocean or not. Kind of unclear and that's not good.

My only hope at this point is that Fisker provides a jailbroken version of their diagnostic/maintenance software so we can calibrate our sensors and windows after our 12v battery dies and needs to be replaced.

You know, I do feel bad about Fisker and the dilemma they are facing.
I love his designs, and there are maybe only three I dislike..... a moped, the PCH watch, and the Orbit. I actually signed up for an Ocean, but then pulled out of the deal.
With that being said, my absolute favorite is the Tramonto, which he turned out during the coach build years. This car was for me, in many ways, a clear signal that someone has "made it!"
I never really lusted after super- and hyper cars, and of course I'm biased as a Mercedes guy, but that Tramonto was for me the pinnacle! And in some ways, it still is (try to find one!).
That damn convertible really made me dream of California, cruising along the coast on Highway 1, no traffic, top down, 70mph, cruise control, sun above me, people at the beaches and surfers in the water, sharks too, no music needed since the engine, the wind and the ocean are perfectly filling in the space. That's California dreaming at its finest!

Just took mine on a 6-700 road trip on Tuesday, well aware of the state of the company, I had no choice, it’s my only car and I needed to use it. It performed well, some “can’t find a fast charger” issues, but I should have planned better, not the Ocean’s fault. The fire sale is painful for anyone that paid full price, me, even more painful when said idiot, me, will be paying Chase 6%+ interest also. My take though, I’m not getting whacked 30-40k loss out of “what if out of business” panic, I’m taking the “I like the car, not losing more money right now, what if they survive somehow” positive approach. Lot of people panic selling for 30k+ immediate losses when they don’t know what the outcome will be, can’t say this car will go on, but can’t 100% say it won’t either. If we do get 3 & 4.0, and they do file for BK, part of the BK may be the warranty and service has to continue for a certain amount of time.

I own a 2020 BMW i3s REX, really a cool car. You can buy a usb obd2 cable and run bimmercode on your cell phone to engage with the cars ECU and program/reset systems. One of the fears with buying an Ocean is "can I interface with the ECU". That would make me more comfortable. I am not sure how many cars, EV or ICE cars have the ability to have their customers interface with it's computer. But the BMW sure is cool in that aspect.

Thanks for being honest about this. I see other youtubers still pushing this giant turd and it aggravates me. I bought mine in October and had nothing but problems and horrible service. If anyone is considering actually spending the money - Please Don't! HF and GF are the worst type of crooks and you are just giving them more money to "lose".

I feel like whatever happened to the original Karma owners is what will happen here. How did things play out for service and parts & such. I know some company bought them out and redesigned the car but this whole Magna contract who wants to do that when it's nothing of original IP? If I owned an Ocean or was looking to buy a discounted one definitely research the past. History always repeats.

I've looked and there are some available in my area. But if you log on and the only option is to contact Fisker and you can only pay with cash to me tells me that banks don't trust Fisker. If no banks will work with the company, why would I. Guess I've lost my deposit. Its a beautiful looking vehicle, but with no support stay far away.

Not having title or lien holder on title, if there is one, would likely prevent insurance. Not fixable or replaceable is the definition of "totaled", very common in the insurance industry.

Anyone contemplating buying a Fisker has to be completely mad. The company is effectively bankrupt, which means no warranty, no ongoing parts support, no software updates, and eye-watering depreciation. Henrik Fisker is a dreamer, not a businessman, as many unhappy investors have discovered.

If there was a default on any creditor, there would be a material announcement. They’re still in a 30-day grace period. The note holders furnished $150m. to the company March 18. My guess with the suspension of production for six weeks, they’re making the correct decision.

I keep imagining they can set up in Windsor, ON near-shoring to the US just as the Gordie Howe bridge completes. There is a recession coming, so the recovery won’t be immediate. The whole EV sector will probably go through rationalization, lower prices and accept that for now, they’re a niche market. Fisker is merely an object lesson for everyone.

there is no choice and we have local dealer who can offer future support . I need for my local drive for next few years .I did long drive yesterday . awesome drive . full charge , I got 330 mile range with 5 people ( 60-70 MP/H). 30 min a/c and all time music .

I was thinking about buying the sport during the fire sale until I realized it’s front wheel drive…wtf Fisker! why would they design a car and call it a sport and not make it rear wheel drive. The more I learn, it no wonder it’s failing. The sports needs to be priced @ 20k.
