Unless Henrick and his family are out of the picture I don't think this company has a chance. But from what I understand about them, they would rather it burn to the ground than relinquish their say in the company.
Maybe he's an OK designer but has clearly cemented himself as a business failure.
1) Design a great vehicle with new innovations
2) Spur enthusiasm and get investors on board
3) Make a lot of false promises
4) Hire your family into executive positions so they can bank $$
5) Under deliver and run the company into the ground.
6) Walk away and start over

As always, great video and extremely informative. Damn you! Ha ha I’m pissed and depressed, if that’s possible. Just today, while picking up my husband (CA) the parking guide came over and asked what kind of car is that because he’s never seen one like it. As I’m putting on the positive spin about the car, I made sure I put my FOO in park, because I forget that the doors are locked. As we’re talking my husband is knocking on the window, because the handles didn’t pop out. So I was using the unlock button and it took many tries before it “opened”. My husband said to the guy, “There’s still a few glitches.” An understatement to say the least. Vents don’t work, sunroof won’t open and still waiting for back order of vent parts. Big sigh!

Hey Adam I’ve been following but really have been in my own 7 stages of grief. Great job again on the video. In the voice of the late great Robin Williams character the Genie from Aladdin…”I feel sheeeepish!” As a 1st time EV adopter I wanted something that was NOT Tesla (just too many in my neighborhood) and thought, “cool this looks great, has a long range, manufactured by a leading car manufacturer, etc.” Here I am 4 months later, starting to get one issue after another, and no service. Placed a support ticket on 3/17/2024 and still have not heard back. I’ve contacted at least 2 additional times, but nothing. Got all of 2.0 and issues are getting worse. As of yesterday California mode stopped working. Anyway, I filed a complaint with my Attorney General to see what, if anything I can do (which is probably nothing). Now I’m stuck with paying a HUGE monthly loan payment and need to try and get out of this car. Lesson learned. Thanks and if, like Sean, I can get out of this, I’ll still be following your channel as I’m sure you’ll have plenty of other EV content. Talk soon.

Had a visit with a tech today . He answered many questions I had including divulging they had a meeting with Henrik today. Tech did mention they do plan to service vehicles through the warranty.
Techs are great, and he advised me to keep his number and will service the vehicle if I ever have an issue …even if Fisker fails.. but he’s not sure if he will have access to the computer modules. But he wil do whatever he can to help

Thanks. What makes your channel better than many other Fisker YTers and influencers is that your aim hasn't been to spread all positivity all the time (in my opinion). Instead, you discuss the good and the bad all supported by facts.
This is helpful for owners to be clear eyed about what's happening with the company, and for potential buyers to know what they're getting themselves into before pulling the trigger. Keep it coming.

I have my FOO and according to to service tech, mine has the most mileage of any FO out there.
My question is, should i continue to use my FOO to travel long distances or just preserve it in my garage and use it only for short distance trips? Im gearing towards to the former, drive it until it breaks down...what do you think?

This must be put on top of great and honest insight videos. Well done. Fisker revealed itself when it failed to satisfy the early adopters. The 1.99 should have been straight out of the box. I can go on with the multiple wrong turns, but I will leave this to the pros like Adam. Am I dreaming in the clouds that there could be any possibility of a buyback based on the number of issues? My latest is that when I back up, occasionally, the car goes into the park. Now that's safe!
my local techs fixed my fob issue yesterday (replaced pkc (?) unit, 3 hour job - car is perfect now. 2.0 made a huge difference.

Thanks Adam. I am waiting for service for broken vents and frozen nav. Fisker is supposed to ship the vents to my house then schedule the service visit. The problem is the vents are on back order and they won't tell me when I can expect the vents. Also, 5 months, still no permanent plates or title.

What an absolute waste…everything was “Super” this or that; now we’re in a super mess! Love the “anxiety car”, do not appreciate lack of communication and transparency. Why wasn’t the organization built like the car? I have no idea what to expect and that can be cleared up by Fisker, if they’d just communicate. What happens to the first 5,000 early adopters?
Keep it charged, drive it once a week, and hide it in a garage. In 20 years it will be cool
The 5000 doesn't mean anything anymore. The entire reason I went for the ONE...was for the added benefits. None of which are anywhere in site right now... The fact that Henrick himself has not said a word.... Is a clear indication that he's looking to make a quiet exit.
In the matter of just 6 weeks I went from loving watching Fisker videos... To just Doom and Gloom Fisker posts everywhere.... And not a single word from Fisker himself, a man that otherwise would've been right front and center boasting about his products... Now suddenly missing in action for the last month. Fiskerati's early departure and getting rid of his Ocean let me know that he knows a whole lot more than he let on. That abrupt 360 and rebranding and distancing from Fisker was the red flag to end all red flags. So many moving parts to this Ponzi scheme if we're looking at it as such.

Since the Fisker doesn't have one pedal drive, I would try to buy several sets of brake pads to have on hand. Not sure if they are available anywhere, but this is really t only immediate maintenance you should need
The regen is what saves brakes not 1 pedal driving.

While your idea is a good one to stock up on brake pads how many parts to we have to pre-purchase to protect the investment. Almost have to itemize, part by part, what typically fails, ECU units, spare keyfob, etc. Almost have to open up a section of the garage to store replacement parts or have some hope that someone will total an Ocean that you can buy cheaply from a junk yard and part out the parts needed. Tough one here.

WOW, now that I watched the video I believe I am going to turn away from ownership. I still stand behind what I said in my previous comment but what happens when I get that first check engine light that comes on. I liked your comment that the techs should document everything, so they have a resource guide to go to with knowing what's wrong. But knowing what's wrong is not useful when the part to fix what is known to be wrong is not available. The knowledge will be useless without the means to fix it without the part needed. Depending on the issue that night happen, and as complex as cars are today, you can be sure that check engine light will come on before your last loan payment is sent. You could be making monthly payments with your Ocean planted in the garage unable to move. I now think the risk is too great. In fact, I live in Arizona, home of the Lucid. Now I question buying cars from Start-ups. I actually drive a 2020 BMW i3s REX, BUT I trust that BMW will be around for a long time, so no risk associated with owning. Thanks for an awesome video.

Let us know when you get a check engine light on an EV🤭 Sorry couldn't pass that one up. But I know what you meant. After the excitement of the car wears off... and we are faced with the reality of a car designer not doing the right thing for his consumers.

@@kikukomarko2711 I know where you’re coming from and can relate with you. There’s just no equivalent of a check-engine-light in an electric vehicle. That’s because it doesn’t have an internal combustion engine. It’s one of the biggest benefits of owning an EV - far less moving parts. Yes, there are parts to maintain like rotating your tires, changing your fluids like the one for your wipers, replacing cabin filter etc. Some might add brake pads and batteries (both 12v and the big one that determines your range) but that about sums all you need to maintain overtime.

i was told to go to Firestone for my 6 month service. pretty basic, didn't open the hood. they were unaware of any agreement but only charged me $22. Fisker offered to reimburse me, but i told them don't bother

Are they allowed to charge us for all the features we didn’t get yet?
Also, I found the issues with the rear lights going on. I tap the interior headliner near them and they go out. Seems it’s bumps that turn them on and not software.
Everyone paid for features they didn’t get. My rear interior lights do the same thing.
Feeling fortunate, my registration was fast and I got my registration card 3 weeks after pickup, my plates 3 weeks after that. AND sorry .. but where's that issue tracker (I couldn't find out where you mentioned it in the video). Thanks!!

I had to call Chase yesterday as they were still looking for my insurance card that I had sent 3 times. They had sent me snail mail and I had to call them to assist in getting my car registered. Sounds like that’s all they were still waiting on. We shall see, temp plates expire next week.

Update from Canada. I have received an email from a Fisker rep offering an Ultra for 45k Cad, a 30k discount. I responded asking if there is a service plan given Fisker's financial challenges. Unfortunately, no response.
Sounds about right. “At your own risk” would be how I would put it.
Been meaning to comment for a while now as I came across your channel when all the financial issues started.
I test drove an Ocean over in the UK about 4 or 5 months ago and was impressed. However the lack of auto hold was a big no for me and after going online to check the forums I discovered that the long-awaited software update to fix this very small feature, which the salesman assured me was "imminent", was not so imminent 😂
Shame as it's a good looking car and has a lot going for it. Tech side it offered a lot more (if it all worked) over my current Audi Q4.
The EV space is a tricky one. As far as I can tell if you don't want a Tesla you have to go Korean or Chinese these days for good, affordable cars.
Avoid legacy German brands at all cost. The tech isn't there nor is the build quality anymore, although they still like to charge you a lot 😂
If I hadn't been duped into buying the ocean, I would have waited for the R2; the cost point is ideal.

I think the R2 will be $69k for the first trim, just like the Ocean.
You hit the nail when you mentioned owner’s only recourse is legal action. That’s the only measure that’s better than doing nothing or continuing to support a sinking boat (calling it the Titanic is somewhat of an exaggeration. It never achieved that level of greatness or success). Question is how do owners band together to take this crucial step? What consumer protection laws are in place to offer some palliative measures? The car was not only overpriced, it was expensive.
I’d like to join a class action consumer law suit - I have a very small stock ownership share - so I’m not really interested in a FCC shareholder lawsuit- but I am interested in a consumer product lawsuit. Thinking that Henrik and Greta get to live in luxury after this incredible ridiculous, I will say criminal, mismanagement- it’s just not ok.
@@1964wheelsyou hit the nail on the head. This is where I’m hoping Adam and better heads than mine can focus attention on. When Nikola misled stakeholders, there were repercussions. Americans aren’t so gullible to be swindled and exploited like this. If investigations reveal gross mismanagement, misconduct and corruption, accountability should be put in place. If it was just incompetence and extenuating circumstances then we have ourselves to blame.

Tesla could solely on their end provide Fisker Oceans access to their charging network. If they choose to. I'm sure you can think of ~10,000 things Tesla would rather do first.

No, they can't. Both Ford and Rivian had to send out OTA updates to allow their vehicles to charge at SCs. If Fisker ceases to exist who would make the updates to the vehicle? Why would Tesla take it upon themselves to assist charging vehicles that are supported by no one??

Man, I was hoping for the Ultra trim, placed a deposit in 2019, the lease plan was the appeal for me, and it really didn’t make sense, as I’ve been in the car business for 25+ years, and I didn’t see how that formula made money for them, but I rolled on, waiting for my option to order my car, terrible communication, and when it finally did open up, guess what? 10k more price, and no flexiee lease!! Should have known, it was mis managed from jump street!.. too bad, because on paper, it all looked so good… Great Designs? Check.. not so great manufacturing knowledge? Check and 2012 Check.. Modern Day Tucker, that didn’t go away… at least I didn’t actually finish paying for one….man..😢

Adam, you are displaying some angst today. You have been a factual presenter of Fisker and other EV evaluations. I can't process how Henrik Fisker could get as far as he did without being called out by his peers and perhaps one of the company attorneys for misrepresenting a business man who took his clients to the cleaners. Morality and ethics don't apply to Henrik. But someone associated with the company must have seen the signs. Ok, I'll stop complaining about my FOE that has not been updated to 2.0 and cannot be updated till a technician can come to my car. Nor will I tell you how my Solar Sky sunroof is unable to open as a sunroof or in full with the push of a button. Oh yeah, the 12 volt battery is draining and my Bluetooth connection is cutting out regularly.
Today I spoke with Laura at Fisker. Very nice.Tried to reset my sunroof. Noted my record of calls and emails. Laura told me Justin would be my technician. I will be getting a call. 😅😂

Actually, it’s investors like you that end up losing everything because you think the cheaper the shares are the better your chances for profitability and you couldn’t be more wrong with a stock drop over 99% the market is telling you it’s over it’s done with this is why most retail individuals lose money on Wall Street Because they’re dumb Wall Street considers retail dumb money for a reason. Nobody waits until a stock gets to a penny and then buys a lot of shares thinking that they’re gonna be rich one day because they have a lot of shares can buy a lot of shares at one penny share with the company is indeed bankrupt and it’s never coming back Because it’s way too far in debt to do so so you keep buying those shares until bankruptcy is announced and I can assure you it will be announced and then you’ll lose everything just like most little investors do

They just give you a pacifying response.
Unless you are in California or near an area where they have a service tech, I doubt at this point they are spending the extra money to send a service tech long distance. This is not being disclosed but its clear by the amount of tickets that go unresolved and by region. People in Cali and the Pacific North West regions post having stellar service... Multiple techs coming out one after the other... Meanwhile others in the Florida group are all asking around for former techs they can no longer get a hold of...and sitting waiting for repairs for months.
Tempted to get a used One For around 35k for short term usage (1-2) till Rivian R2 delivers but know the Fisker will depreciate and will lose money. If I can find a sport for 25k I wouldn’t mind taking the hit in 2 years

So how bad of an idea is it for me to buy one of these. They look awesome. With the sale They’re cheaper than a model Y and look a lot better to me.
If it’s a garage car (as in you have another perfectly functional car to drive as well), get it. It could be a classic someday. If not, Do you like errors? How does “ADAS fault - Drive Carefully” sound while taking your partner out to dinner. Or the climate control refusing to work correctly when it’s 110F? Or waiting 8 months for a part, and then after 8 months it just never comes? Or how about the vehicle randomly won’t go into gear, and to fix it you have to wait 30 minutes. Just randomly. Or, you’re in traffic, coming to a stop, and your car shakes violently and just puts itself in park? No warning. If this sounds fine, grab it up.

I've had a support ticket open for nearly 2 weeks for my vents and driver attention system and have gotten zero response other than the automated system. Unreal to spend this much on a car and not be able to get service. FISKER SUCKS AND NEEDS TO PULL IT TOGETHER

I think the "Fisker" brand is used under license from Henrik Fisker himself. Otherwise, it would have belonged to Karma Automotive, which currently owns the rights to the old Fisker Karma.

The risk part
At the end you need to try the essential spare parts as long as you can which means you have spare and you can later change them in for what might be needed.
If not these parts will be sold at auction and most likely in 1 lot so huge amounts of money would be needed. Speculants will buy those parts for cheap and sell them with a 300 % premium cause they can. Has happened before to other companies but you should rather act now and buy parts or get rid off your car cause the issues can only increase.
At the end the car is more or less dead and it needs a magician to restart this company to sell the Fisker Ocean, I mean newly built ones, but it already will start with the issue if the brand isnt already burned and then the new owner needs a name like the ABC Ocean.
You can not buy the whole mess and give it a new name cause everybody would now that this has been the fisker ocean which fate most will be familiar. And therefore you will need a magician to sell them again - but I doubt that anyone will hire that magician which wants to be paid.
Might also depend on the legal part if this is an american company or a EU based one cause in case of an EU based one then usually the owner can try to solve these issues within 3 months cause here mostly the salary is paid by the unemployment agency and employees will continue to work or have to quit. I bet Henrik is trying to buy time to get it sorted out how and where what should be gone, I mean the rights , the patents and what not, USA or EU. EU could be a safer haven for sure, but who knows.
The post you had read the last times about Henrik micro managing is right not only plausible, Magna would not do it again and it had happened 15 years before. He is a designer who fight for every tiny detail as if they have to save their life.
How could someone with such a passion overlook a big complex thing like this if he checks everything what is going on in the company ?
Therefore he will not find time for the important points or decisions.

Why does anyone buy a Gen 1 car from a start up. The odds are stacked against them from the start.

It was nothing but problems from day two and was the worst car I had ever purchased in the first five months of ownership. I now have Rivian and it is awesome and it actually works! This is exactly what everyone was afraid of when the computers started to be more important. The joke years ago was, what now, do I have to reboot my car to drive it... Well, its WAY worse. Your car wont even run, you will have to wait for an update, you may even get an update that is worse and have to wait for another. It may require an update and not be driveable. Its ALL the worst things everyone feared. A car with issues like this should simply not be ready for sale. It looks like any random person driving the car could pick out the critical errors that should be fixed before it is sold. Every product sold has firmware and software issues these days. Things go out way before they are ready. I have bought cameras that cannot even use features for 6 months because they dont support android. I was hoping this never got into the auto industry, but there you go. Also, how can you not register a vehicle you sell? Its just stupid stuff that should be sorted before the vehicle can be sold. The Vinfast also came up as having massive stupid issues. Then the Blazer had issues also, but not as bad, but some of the issues seem so simple like any normal software developer could fix them. Dumb stuff like the screen flashing when you are between gas and brake, thats stupid, just dont do that, delete all that code, how long could that possibly take, then test it.
Initially, I was thinking Fisker just had bad timing and people were critical, but after seeing how much stupid stuff has happened, they pretty much did this to themselves. I think maybe it was simply not possible to launch a new car when they did. Its possible if they followed all the right steps they simply would never have even launched.

Best video yet. I lost my deposit on an Ocean ($1000) because I saw the train wreck of Fisker management. I followed all the video's and owners comments. Ended up leasing a Genesis GV60. So far best choice for me.

It doesn’t sound like Fisker is ultimately completely mismanaged, just that there’s no market for the vehicles. The risk management is very careful, and not a reflection on Fisker owners. But buying shares in the company you bought the cars is apparently, a conflict of interest that caught up the Fisker investors.
The board is obliged to resign on a bankruptcy filing. It’s called a change-of-control., which is a legal requirement. The answer is that private interests actually own the company, and that shareholders sitting on a loss better commit to placing their shares in a revocable trust that vests in you, or a tax shelter, and await the outcome. It can take years for a business cycle to revive.
In a voluntary liquidation, the company is reorganized along an escrow arrangement. Your shares may be swapped for warrants of no value for the interim before Fisker re-emerges.
As for Apple, a corporation won’t buy a company unless shareholders demand it, and shareholders only demand acquisitions out of fear of missing out, or FOMO, and share prices tend to be elevated.
It’s damnable, but the muskrats are right Fisker is over. Don’t tell them that Tesla has the same structure Fisker did and that their liabilities are huge when sales for EVs drop.
There are two Canadian auto parts makers that are cross-listed on US exchanges, Magna(MG) and Linamar(LNR) they might have made better investments years ago at the start of the EV bubble. The only opportunity you have left is to accumulate capital and wait out the bottom of the recession in the next fiscal year(s)

Nice video you told it like it was the nepotism in this company is unbelievable. I noticed there was no mention of baby doll. Natasha most likely because she still kind of a child in a way, but even Tasha has to go there can be no family blood whatsoever anywhere near this company if it’s going to survive, that means husband, wife and daughter out of the picture, but of course, most of us know that will never happen. These people are too proud because their last name bears of the car so basically their family pretty much destroyed their company.
Henrik did leave Fisker Automotive some months before the company declared bankruptcy, I forget how many months ahead, maybe as many as six months. So he might leave Fisker Inc too, but it will change nothing.
