She was probably handed this as they thought it would be an easy - open and shut - case. Cruz is pleading guilty to all charges. Unfortunately because this is Florida (a death penalty state) they STILL have to go through absolutely everything, just as they would if he had pled "not guilty", because they have to determine whether or not he should get the death penalty and to legally back that up they need to go through absolutely everything. If it was a normal (i.e. non-death penalty) state, he would have pled guilty, be sentenced to live out his life in prison without parole and that would be the end of it. Over in a day. But no people are like "Oh no we need to have the death penalty, an eye for an eye bla bla bla" and they don't realize this is the result. Just more long drawn-out torture for the families.

Not allowing him to go, would be like making him step outside the court room while key evidence is presented to members of the jury. Also it really bugs me that this guy's got 92 lawyers working for him after everything he's done and if I ever have to go to court I get one measly little lawyer that's got 55 cases that he's doing that one day and doesn't even know my name..... our whole system is just unfair..

It gives the jury a opportunity to better visualize the crime and make the necessary judgments I think it's obvious that physically being at the location is better and more clear perspective than seeing photos hearing narrative or any other evidence. He would be allowed to do so because by law he has the right to participate fully in his own defense. Regardless of how people despise this monster and I despise him and wish that he was never born however we have to view the system in the totality of the rights that it grants to us as Citizens and while it is obvious to us that he is an evil monster it is so important to Grant him all of his rights in terms of Defense so as to ensure those rights for all of us including in the many instances in which a person is wrongfully arrested and prosecuted.

That would help the jurors actually see him in the environment instead of imagining him there, possibly see a reaction from the disgusting murderer, and correlate the carnage of blood and chaos created with the perpetrator. If this at all would help keep him off of death row… The headline would be that he is going. He has nothing to do with this decision And it wouldn’t surprise me if he would actually want to go just so he can see everyone else’s reaction.
