Lovely garden. I so appreciate the way you Brits make the most of a small plot. Truly an oasis of calm beauty. We have just under a half acre and it can be a bit overwhelming… especially in the summer. We live about 40 miles northeast of Dallas, Texas and our summers can be brutally hot and dry. Dragging hoses out to water several times a week makes me question my sanity sometimes… but then the veggies come in and all seems right with the world. There is just something about homegrown veg… magical. Last year’s sweet corn was amazing. Fingers crossed for this year’s crop!

Had a plumber here (US) 2 times in the past 30 years and they have NOT used a Disinfectant. I had to give them a bottle of mine. Glad to see you do.

Let your son know that your dad’s job has lots of paperwork, conditions are shit, you get wet not just from the rain it gives you eye watering skills to avoid any splashing but at the end of the day you’ll be smelling like Roses😀😀😀

Salt glaze pipes become brittle and prone to cracking from roots, but repairing plastic underground pipes myself, roots love growing through the joints.

Looking at that pipe in the manhole, they use that style a lot in Germany, where you have the pipe with an access point, some are covered with a metal cover held in place with screw thread clamps.
You do use a lot of disinfectant, I suppose it depends whether it is a natural formula less harmful to the environment or not.

I used to say wet wipes needed to be banned but that might cut back on business since they seem to cause most of the problems.
🙄 - toilet paper is designed to disintegrate on contact with water/liquid = this is flushable and will disintegrate in the sewers. Wet wipes [as their name suggests] are designed to be tough and will not disintegrate on contact with water = these are clearly not flushable and should be thrown in the sanitary bin

What is the point of throwing disinfectant into the sewer?
Anything above the normal water flow line doesn't get rinsed off during normal use, so if you don't disinfect, you end up with all of the old crap up to the flood line rotting up the sides and attracting flies and creating foul smells.

Sometimes suzanne when you hear the echo, that's signifies that the drains are hollow and completely free flowing 😁 so no need to jet too much on this one 👍

You may want to blur out license plates for privacy.
There's nothing really private about number plates. It's only when they're attached to other potentially personal info that it becomes a problem.

The human body cannot digest the shell of corn. So everyone who eats it will have it come out like that. The nutrients and inside are digested, but the shell isn’t due to the cellulose.

This is just so weird to me. Like there is no way a sewage drain would be that near the surface in the US or have a maintenance opening like that. How the heck doesn't that make residential areas smell like rotting poop a good part of the time?
because, unless its blocked, the shit doesnt stay in there - it flows through to the main drains which are deeper, and sealed with airtight lids
