      It surely depends on your tastes but that Korean outfit are like a whole K-pop Boy Band. Unfortunately, they can't do a single job without five or six guys in attendance and camera checks at every step of the way. So while they might win on looks, the Scousers definitely have them easily beat on raw skill.

      @@twatmunro9563 true, I can only speak my own opinion and IMO, Andy Jem, and Joe are good looking, very hard working, customer focused, and very passionate about the work they do and are great at it! As for the Blocked Drain Korea team, I suspect that most of them are apprentices and that is why they can afford to have so many on each job. I'm not complaining about Blocked Drain Korea either, they are one of my top favourite You Tube channels too as they too are very good, thorough, with excellent customer service skills as well.

    I started out watching the drain addict from Australia. Being a nurse and a bit of a germophobe, I was cringing the way Ollie slings fecal matter all over and does a so so cleanup. In many of his situations, he really should have disinfected some of those areas. Yuk! Your channel popped up as a suggestion and, after watching a few of your videos, I now subscribe. I do struggle a lot trying to understand all of you. I live in the states and I have a bit of hearing loss from listening to hospital noises for decades in critical care and ER . You do a fabulous job of declogging and cleaning drains. And your truck is so organized and clean!

My old house had terracotta drains that failed so I am no stranger to them, just never seen a manhole cover for residential drains, much less like 6 all around the house with pipes all converging from who knows where. It is fascinating to me. We have cleanouts but they are branch pipes connected to the drains with screw on caps, and all like PVC or some other plastic type pipe these days, but no manhole covers on residential property

    Why are drains in the UK so old and crappy. In the newer parts of town do they make them bigger and better? The drain pipes are to small

    • @Debbiebabe69
      @Debbiebabe69 2 года назад +4

      In the UK they design drains 'with enough capacity to drain the area they are intended for'. Which is fair enough - then five years later another company builds another housing estate which dumps its outfall on the first estates drains. Then two more estates are built, the first again dumps straight into the original estate's drains, the second dumps into the one I first mentioned, which dumps into the original estate. Within ten years, a drainage system designed for 500 houses now is serving 2000 - and it keeps going on until it fails and they finally decide to replace it.
      Its like playing with lego bricks - your base may be stable at first, but eventually you stick enough extra bricks on it and it falls......

    • @twatmunro9563
      @twatmunro9563 2 года назад

      This house *is* the newer part of town. It would have been built in the 70's/80's at the earliest. And it has what, four, five manholes? My house was built in 1910 and has no manholes at all. But my drains haven't been blocked in the 25 years I've lived here. That said, the sewer runs underneath our street which is built in sand. Sewers in this area are collapsing all the time due to old age and lack of maintenance.

      Definitely no wet-wipes but there is a 20 foot tall sycamore at the end of the drive, less than six feet away from the inspection trap into our drain. Pigeons use it to roost in and shit all over my car. But I think sycamores have a big single taproot rather than those dense fibrous roots that tend to block drains.
      But I think you're right. I wouldn't dream of buying a house built after the 1920's or so. I know people insist that modern building techniques are superior, but they just look cheap and lazy to me. Houses built by labourers rather than craftsmen.

      The issue was mainly caused by roots, the issue around the far side of the house looked like a collapsed drain on a downstairs toilet 👍👍💩💩

      Yes definitely in most cases, will certainly quote the job if it's an exterior issue with drains 👍 jem, Warren, olly and bob are the main fellas for the repairs 👌
