Wow, some of that must be exhausting, the fast and repeating intervals that constantly break the air flow, especially in the trumpet part of the arrangement, make it sound like they can't breathe for a long time, and that trill in the trombone at 5:50 ... I am speechless. All of them are astounding musicians.
im a freshman in high school and i play tuba in marching band and symphonic and i can say i wish more kids my age enjoyed the music like this because it is truely a work of art and a masterpiece that should be adored by all. im going to try to go somewhere with my tuba. just hope i can get good enough to do that.
Everyone is talking about the tuba and trombonist, and don’t get me wrong, they’re absolutely astonishing, but we should also pay some mind to that horn player that is absolutely killing every partial and jump as if it’s nothing. And as a horn player, I can tell you that it’s much easier to do jumps like that on the other instruments than the horn. Mad props to him.
Just... Oh my god, I have no words for how happy this made me... Beautifully synced, rhythmically accurate to the very last sixteenth note, tonality of the angels throughout the entire duration of the piece. Well done. Bach would be proud. :)
This is the best EVER !! I know, I played in the Nederlands Kamer Orkest for years as Solo Horn, and at that time there was not a 5-tet in Holland anywhere close to this. Gentlemen, Felecitatcies en voorspudig groote success !!!
4:00 is so amazing... the trumpets are so accurate it’s insane and the horns range to play that high and short like that. I’m a horn player and I couldn’t do that for a long time. Would take weeks upon a couple months to do that.
Horn parts in brass quintet arrangements of Bach have to be some of the most deceptively difficult things out there. All those high notes, trills, arpeggios
The wonderful sound of brass music and accomplished musicians. I can truly listen to this until my ears are overwhelmed with the excellence of auditory wonder! Simply gifted vibes to all of us.
This is an awesome composition for brass quintet. Never heard this played by a brass quintet before. This is not an easy piece to play. French horn really kept the tempo. Trombone really rocked. Tuba had great control and intonation. Trumpets came through really clean, crisp, and clear. This is an epic performance.
Nah every musicians know how to appreciate music and great talents. Those 10 peoples are mad because there is no twerking and tasteless pop music in the video.
The critical comments blow my mind. This is wonderful music making. Congrats to you! Thank you for sharing your dedication to your instruments. Remarkable playing!!!
As you all can see, brass instruments play every kind of music. We are just the best performers. We have the widest range of sounds, colours, volumes,... and everything is made with our mouth strentgh. Lots of hours of studying are worthy in these moments.
Let me say as the tubist father of a Suzuki violinist that the string players of this world are overall light years ahead of the brass. My recommendation to you would be to grab the Suzuki Violin or Cello books and CD and learn, now that you are a mature musician, how to approach music through the eyes of a violinist or cellist. Copy the artistry you hear on a Suzuki CD and make your own music with the backing tracks. It will be a musical awakening for you. These guys are pros, no doubt, but let’s not write checks we can’t cash when talking about other instrument families.
@Mr. Sandman How dare someone has an opinion on something, brass is harder than a lot of other instruments to learn because of the fact that it requires lips to play. Seems like you hate brass.
The first three notes-as the trumpets start the piece in octaves-are sooooooo nicely in tune! Tough to do at the best of times, especially on a cold start, but it's so important to get this opening right; and they nail it! And, from the whole group, the rest of the piece is 99.9% in tune as well. The only glitch that bothered me was the trumpets from 1:12-1:28 when they didn't sound like they were alternating sixteenth notes precisely. But that's the only nitpicking I will engage in. My verdict: I loved this version!
Everything about this performance is stunning; from the first note I was like MAN! This is gonna be awesome! I was not disappointed. Also, I want to just acknowledge how totally rockin’ the trumpet player on the left’s low notes are, I was like holy crap he made that almost sound like a trombone!
#SEMPER FIDELIS #QUA PATET ORBIS #JE MAINTAN DRAI ! ♫♪ great ♫♪♫♪♫♪☺ BRAVISSIMO @/bisbis 🎶🎵🎼 great music! a well tuned ensemble that sounds ! Fabulous banding! Compliments! #SEMPER FI #QPO #JMD
J'aime bien même avec ses imperfections, car sachant la difficulté de ces instruments, arriver à jouer ce qu'ils jouent c'est déjà impressionnant. Honneur à ceux qui sauront la jouer mieux que ça...
The trombone player's lip trills are epic in here !

That trill is not only perfectly executed, but held in pitch for the whole bloody long note. That is so hard to do.
Cuando ya estas acostumbrado ya no es dificil. Por eso la practica hace al maestro

It’s been 10 now what happened?
The best brass players in the world , with the late and great Peter Masseurs as first trumpet.

Don’t they write a shit ton of jumps for horns?
that tuba player.... bless you my good sir
Peter Masseurs, geweldige trompettist - R.I.P.
Somehow I think this deserves more likes than what it is currently holding.
Yes , for sure it does..

Tuba sounds like a true organ on the D1. It's amazing
I may like this arrangement more than that of the organ. The alternating trumpets are fun, and the tuba is just exquisite! 🙂👏
This is the Canadian Brass arrangement. The only other group that's ever played it this cleanly.
Just... Oh my god, I have no words for how happy this made me... Beautifully synced, rhythmically accurate to the very last sixteenth note, tonality of the angels throughout the entire duration of the piece. Well done. Bach would be proud. :)

This was honestly the most beautiful brass played piece i have ever heard. These are true professionals!

This is an awesome brass piece as well
Best rendition of Bach T&F in d --- ever !!! Thank you !
I agree..
What amazes me even more than the performance is the amount of skill that went into composing and arranging such a masterpiece.
What skill ! The best thing in the world is to be a musician of this calibre. Well done Gentlemen
Let's give the arranger, Fred Mills, credit!
I'm sorry, I didn't know who arranged this excerpt...
its a joke on a joke made by the tuba play of the candidian brass
@@QueenBirdGirl - Because it was probably Daellenbach who did the arrangement.
Fred was a master. RIP.

That is a long time for the tuba to hold that pedal D ...good lungs!
I swear I love Jorgen! He's such a great player!
As an organist, I thoroughly enjoyed this performance. So well done! Thanks for putting this up on RUclips.
Som de 5 músicos que equivalem a uma orquestra completa, simplesmente perfeito!!!
I am in awe of these talented musicians.
What a wonderful performance!
That low D at 0:20 is so satisfying
It is though
Completely agree. As a matter of full disclosure, I am a little biased from the fact I dabble in the bass.
Those 10 people who dislikes this is definitely the string players
Nah every musicians know how to appreciate music and great talents. Those 10 peoples are mad because there is no twerking and tasteless pop music in the video.

it maybe woodwinds players too
+Wan Gila Not true... I am a cellist and I liked a lot.
Wan Gila 😂
Impressive, clear sound, great technique. Bravissimo
Brass-ivimo!
I struggled for years to understand this work. Until i heard it in Brass.
5:53 Trombone Lip Trill like a boss
My washing machine synced with the 8th notes at the exact time they came in at 3:00
Fantastic. Besides it shows very well the complex architecture of this many-voices piece of music
Spectacular performance, one of the best I've ever heard of this piece.
The critical comments blow my mind. This is wonderful music making. Congrats to you! Thank you for sharing your dedication to your instruments. Remarkable playing!!!
You're right man, if you don't appreciate this performance, you simply can't appreciate great music... Thanks for the support and take care!
Wow that ending is sounds so much nicer with brass instruments... this is an awesome performance!
so neat and precise and flawless intonation and articulation and dynamics. if this isn't the mere definition of perfect then i don't know what is.
bach and tubaa....im in heaven!!
Bach works on anything! even in a calculator! those pianissimo trumpets and horn were exquisit... if theres a heaven sounds like this.
Una delle migliori esecuzioni del capolavoro di J. Sebastian BACH
This performance is simply astonishing
Love the trombone and I also love the other instruments too but trombone is my favorite I love music
That trombone trill is unreal
Never heard the piece in such perfect intonation by brass group
The cord at 2:27 is the greatest thing my ears have ever heard🤤
You have to give a little credit to Bach for that.
Beautiful musicianship, astounding technique, unobtrusive yet accurate rhythm and intonation beautifully recorded. What more can you ask for?
How beautiffully performed, and against all odds i might say. Wonderful !
Simplesmente esplêndido! Como o sopro e sensacional🥰🥰

kaalo ya seeing as this is originally an organ piece, it would be best to leave arrangements to us wind players >:)
This at Musashino culture hall was amazing great performance, never heard like that!
Grandiosa interpretación! Se aprecia la belleza de cada una de las voces.
I can listen it for days!
Bravissimi professionisti
Amazing performance. Another reason I wanna learn a brass instrument.
As the tuba player in our quintet used to say, the organ doesn’t breathe. Great arrangement!
Excellent harmonizing in this arrangement .Much love from a former Euphonium player.
Lovely, great, this is a real harmony and an achievement. God bless you all.
I know so little about Bach. What a composer.
Excellently played by this group of players-such clear notes.

I never thought I would watch Anthony Hopkins, Will Ferrell, Clark Kent, Adam Sandler, and Rowan Atkinson playing Toccata and Fugue.
Beautifully executed. I might even choose this presentation over the traditional organ.
Fantastic playing! Thanks for sharing.
