I’ve got a Mask also. Highly recommend can. My first rimfire can was a Ryder A, the Mask is obviously quieter, but noticeably heavier on a pistol. I use the Mask mostly on 22 rifles. With a rifle of course you’re going to need sub-sonic ammo if you’re going to want to remain “neighborhood friendly”. There is virtually zero noise that comes out of the rifle, but the bullet is going to break the sound barrier with quite loud crack. I had an issue with a certain 22 standard velocity target ammo made in Bosnia, some type of crazy flash and ‘explosion’ inside the can... Disassembled the can to find everything was fine. Bullet impacted the target, but I don’t think I’ll use that ammo anymore! Outstanding results with CCI rimfire ammo of various sorts.
I just picked up my DeadAir Mask yesterday. It took exactly one year from purchase date to approval and another month for my dealer to have the approval and stamp.
I own the Mask, who says size matters, haha. Advice, Don’t waste money Shooting .22 Subs there is NO difference shooting standard velocity rounds. I got some after shooting standards and it was a waste of $$. Also, wait until you clean that thing, omg! I did it by hand and took like an hour and half. The carbon was so thick and caked on the baffles. Im getting an ultrasonic cleaner just for this suppressor.
I second on the subs, but more bulk pack ammo and have a “blast” 😂 I haven’t cleaned mine yet but I can only imagine. I was planning on using my wife’s electric toothbrush to clean it but an ultrasonic sounds better 👌
If you use subsonic ammo then they are pretty comparable. It’s gonna be subjective though. I don’t have any decibel data to pull from, only how my ears pick up the sound.
@donh1572 It’s been a minute since I put them up against each other… man it’s pretty fine line but I want to say the 5.7 sounds better with supers. I’ll try and remember to compare them side by side next time I go out.
@@CalebDowning Thanks! That would be an awesome video if you could make it. Not much 5.7 suppressed comparison content out there in the internet. …If any!
If you add liquid to a suppressor it will usually noticeable reduce the sound signature of the can. Theres some science to it but that’s the simple explanation.
The P50 is next on my wishlist. Always wonder where you go to shoot. The State range is no fun and the Valley is too long of a drive from the Southside of Anchorage.
LOL…appreciate both of you. I was just trying to let you know I like hear the basics. It helps me decide whether to put it on my potential buy list or not. Thanks again.
What!!! No 500 round burn down of 5.7x28…lame😅. At the time I went with the El Camino by Q because it was lighter…and available. Use it on an Aero AR 5.7 with the cmmg conversion barrel. Hoping prices and availability of that round go down, but probably won’t. Mask is a good option as well, did not know it was rated for 5.7🍻.
The Q stuff has always intrigued me. I’d love to shoot them side by side Dead Air stuff and hear them in person. 5.7 should be cheaper. It’s a dang shame it’s not cause it’s a sweet little round.
Caleb, I love your suppressor videos. I do mostly Form 1 suppressors on my channel. It would great if you could check out some. Thanks for the great video.
I just ordered one about a month ago and from everything I've seen and read about this suppressor it's definitely one of the best rimfire cans on the market. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
@@rickeywest142 I got it about a month ago but I've seen some that are getting their stuff back in 4 or 5 months so the wait times are all over the place. One thing I've been noticing is there's not a lot of people having to wait over a year anymore which I've done on a couple of occasions.

I just bought a Mask HD 22 yesterday to run it on a TX22 and a few M&P 15-22. Now the waiting begins, I was told anywhere between 4 to 9 months.
You won’t be disappointed 👌 Its a superb little can in my opinion. Those will be great hosts as well 🤙
Hopefully the E form works quicker. I have been waiting on my mask since March 2021. 😆 someday, I'll actually get to shoot it.
@@brentchuck1664 Jesus! I better start meditating to get serenity and peace of mind while I wait 😆 that's a long time!

Lol! Exact same experience! Except I spent about 3 hours cleaning mine! Definitely getting an ultra sonic
An ultrasonic would be amazing 👌
Great video! I always learn something and get a good laugh doing it..Keep it up brother… thank you
Haha, thanks man 😁 Always glad to help 👌
Sounds like the Mask is a good candidate for a SBR'D PS90!
Absolutely 👌 It’d be great on there in my opinion.
@@CalebDowning copy that!
How did the 5.7x28 with the dead air mask compare to a 9mm suppresed ?
If you use subsonic ammo then they are pretty comparable. It’s gonna be subjective though. I don’t have any decibel data to pull from, only how my ears pick up the sound.
@@CalebDowning Actually prefer your subjective ears rather then db. How about if they are both supers. Is one louder then the other in your opinion?

That did a way better job on the 5.7 than I thought.
I was pretty surprised 👌pleasantly…
Could you explain wet vs dry?

The only mask I'm down to put on🇺🇲🗽⚖️🤘🤫
😎👊🏻
It is smacking that steel for sure stronger then a 22. What you think?
It’s definitely a harder hitter 👍

Were you shooting standard velocity ammo or sub Sonics?
All 36-40gr supersonic stuff 👍

It’s a pretty sweet gun 👍
I shoot up past Palmer. I’ve tried some of the public ranges and I get too nervous out there with all the other folks.
I always wanna hear specs. I.e. weight, length, materials, price. Great video. Thank you

just wait till the PSA X57 comes out
As much as that gun looks cool, I wish they had gone with their bolt gun or shotgun line first… 😏
What’s the brace on the p50?
That’s the “TF1913” from SB Tactical
