Hands down the best sound comparison I’ve seen. Well done.
This is my first 22 suppressor, and I am very pleased. Had to wait 10 months to get the tax stamp, but man was it worth it!
My bolt action Savage is a real hush puppy, and my Ruger MK I with a new upper is like the MK III shown in the video. Best money I ever spent.
best; review yet that I have seen. up close reassembly procedures were very good. Many other posts go too fast and have very poor photography. Good Job guys.
Great video. Thanks for putting it up! It really helped me understand the difference a suppressor can be on different kinds of guns/pistols.
Great review!I really like the looks and sound of this silencer!
Incroyable!
Thank you very much for this excellent video. Informative and entertaining!
Great video as always, really digging the multiple mic positions. The lapel recording of the Savage... *thunk* - nicely captures how quiet a suppressed bolt action is!
+Jordan Thanks!
Damn, I want one ! I love 22lr Suppressors that keep all the fouling away from the outer tube. It will fit right in with my Spectre II , Axiom & Warlock II 😎
Excellent video. I can't believe how impossibly quiet that thing is.
Great video! To the point, different audio recordings. Very impressive.
Wow what a difference, cant wait to try it out. 22 and a can has to be the most fun and cheap setup to shoot.
I just got this suppressor last month and I love it. I am still trying out different brands off ammo to see which is the quietest and most accurate. I love the video, especially about the cleaning and I just read in my owners manual that the baffles can be cleaned is a wet tumbler with stainless steel media. That's how I clean my brass for reloading and seems like that would be the easiest way to clean them! In the owners manual, page 8, step four.
CCI semi auto quiet 875 is super silent and no problems going semiauto on my ruger mark 4
Great review, and can! I can't wait to get mine!
I just bought this today and was pleased to find out that the wait time for my stamp went from 10 months down to just 3
I'm having a heck of a time choosing a rim fire suppressor. This one looks pretty good though. And It seems like overall that you like it. I'm starting to lean toward getting a mask.
Just got mine and love it!. Makes shooting my 5.7 way wetter!
Shot one of these the other day, easily the quietest rimfire can I have ever shot....that Mike Pappas is a wizard...
Todd Magee and Jesse Prause did the design work.
Well they did a heck of a job, great can. Im looking to add one to my inventory ASAP
Finally a video that is short on talk and long on showing the product. Good damn Job...
Very professional for one killer . Best silence .
You sold me!! My Beretta 21A sounds like a Stick of Dynamite ever time I pull the trigger" Dead Air really Quieten down the sound....
That's amazingly quiet.
I was shocked when I got mine how little first round pop there was. I own several different companies and this is my favorite one so far. It is not the lightest but I was after sound reduction
Excellent job
Thanks man. Just picked mine up from reload!
The dead air mask .22 is hands down the best .22 supressor on the market. its extremy user friendly rated well beyond .22 up to 5.7 and full auto. its made out of titanium and stainless and is a breeze to clean with the DIP just make sure of proper disposal and handleing. And the above all else it is infact the quietest .22 can on the market theybe stacked it up against alot of other cans and its the best hands down. Also no first round pop ever fully hearing safe. great product great company. ive used mine on a browning 1911 and on a gsg mp5 and both setups are stupid quiet. ammo of choice of maximum supression /realiability federal 45gr copper plated 950 fps. other great choicea are cci standard veolcity and gemtech 42 grain suppressor .22lr
Great video. Thank you.
NOTE: The quietest pistol tested that day was the Colt Rail Gun 22 and the VQ Custom Ruger MK3. The action noise was tied up!
He was asking about the Ruger Silent-SR suppressor, not the SR firearms.
You are my favorite review channel, keep up the good work.
+Brady Summers Thanks man!
Awesome video! I'm going to be getting one of these for a m&p compact .22. You're video was very well done and I'm convinced the mask hd will be a great choice for my first .22 suppressor. I was just curious, in your experience with this suppressor, how is accuracy affected if any? Thanks for any info. you can provide!
Great work - I wish you would have used a Five-seveN!
I’m leaning towards this over the new oss m rad. Dead air makes nice stuff
as always man top notch keep em coming
+jman400ex Thanks!
The suppressor is damn good. The only problem is that it takes too long to get one. 😬
How do you compare the dead air mask to the tactical solutions axiom? Thank you
great video. would like to see one on the ghost m 45.
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT Video! Very nice editing! Liked & Subbed!
this is badass man
The VSO Gun Channel )
Thank you for using a variety of microphones. Your sound was the closest to real world I have heard. I feel like the other videos online either negligently or intentionally misrepresent how loud guns are, even with silencers
+GulfCoastToad This is the area I spend the most time. The sound HAS to be perfect and captured in such a way that it represents real world levels without the camera and microphone changing the feel and capping the upper limits. It has been a long road but we finally have the perfect settings.
+fireman1291 I think you nailed it. Thanks for putting in the effort.
those step off are nice but they prevent heat from the inside to go outsie
This is an awesome review and made me very happy. I’m waiting on my dead air mask hd approval and I own at least 3 of the firearms you used in this video. Thank you.
Glad to see this review! I just put one in NFA jail this week, will be awesome on the Mark IV Tactical!
I ordered one yesterday and our application is in pre-submission review. Did you submit an eForm 4? If so, have you been approved yet?
@@FishKepr I did a paper form last year. Haven’t gotten it back yet
I know this was 4 years ago, but would you say this is the quietest 22 can? I have the CGS Hydra ss and it is definitely quiet and little first round pop, but I was looking to get another can and I am torn between this and the Rugged Oculus. If the Mask is significantly quieter than I would probably go with it.
This video format is excellent! I really appreciate the back to back comparisons. I noticed this video is 8 years old. Would you say the Mask is still a go to 22lr can now in 2024 or are there better options available?
i'm trying to choose between a monocore and baffle stack 22 suppressor, would you suggest the mask as the quietest for baffle? if not which one? and from your experience what is the quietest monocore?
Son of a gun, I literally just got my first suppressor a week ago (Spectre 2). I was so happy to be done with my 8 month wait, I figured I wouldn't buy any nfa items for a while. But then Silencerco releases their new Osprey Micro and now there's this!? I can't win! But I do like my Spectre though, hopefully I'll stay satisfied with it for a while.
Great review
The step-offs are an improvement, but don't seem at all revolutionary from a caged-K baffle type like the Gemtech Alpine. At least on the Mask with SS baffles you have better options to clean the baffles than you do with the Alpine's aluminum baffles.
Where’s the serial number placement on the tube? Towards the muzzle or closer to the barrel connection point?
How is the mask 22 compared to the osprey micro
Wondering how it compares to the Silencerco Spectre 11 I have? Designed by the same guy?
DB reduction rating?? The link povided doesn't work and I see nothing on the website
That Colt 1911 .22LR was ridiculously quiet. So was the Ruger. Jesus.
It look like a Spectre II, CTA. Did you ever compare with the Spectre II ?
Nice review. What 22 lr ammo were you using?
7:03 holy crap that savage fvsr wet sounds insane
So it’s safe to fire this without headphone with the suppressor?
great video
Still the lowest FRP .22 can with SS baffles and Ti tube?
6:46 haha that dry fire and the wet shot sound almost the same from here
Well my ignorance has gotten the best of me. What are you doing different to the can in the “wet” vs “dry” shots? I’ve never seen a video with those two factors shown before?
which was the quietest pistol host?
Pretty sweet little can. Good video.
Good job on the videos, you've come a long way and are quickly becoming THE go to NFA channel.
+Tyler Ting Thanks for the compliment!
Seu silencioso é bom mesmo
Were you using suppressed ammo? Is so, what brand and weight?
I hear that K baffles don't work as well with high pressure, high velocity ammo like magnum rimfire and 5.7x28, as clipped cones do. Is this true?
Seems to be, yes
Fireman, quick opinion.....I am in the market for another .22 can. I have a couple k-baffle type cans already and was hoping to get a monocore can this time but am not set on it. Performance is my number one requirement as well as a reasonably low FRP. I was leaning toward the PSD minilith based on your review, but I have seen too many great things about the mask 22 to overlook as well as cutting edge design and modularity of the new micro osprey. So just briefly in your opinion if you could only choose one of these, what is the best overall performer (strictly speaking about suppression / tone) between the Micro osprey, mask 22, and PSD Minilith? Mainly shooting on semi autos. From a fellow "suppressor junkie" Thanks for all the great vids.
+Dj127 For best FRP/Tone I would say the Mask edges out the others.
Was subsonic ammo used?
I just started shopping for my first can. In your opinion what is the best / your favorite 22 can?
+Custom Southern Arms This is probably one of the best 'traditional' style .22 cans. SilencerCo has some neat things going on as well.
Nice
7:05 the cow was louder then the firearm lol
How do the Dead Air Mask and the Ruger Silent SR compare?
I'd like to know the same thing. Although I will say the Ruger Silent -SR is not inexpensive.
Ammo Man I wouldn't call any brand I've seen "inexpensive"
Ok time to find some coin. Sandman-L, and this one!
what does wet and dry mean?
What ablative do you use when firing wet? What method do you use to add it? I am excited for this one. Thanks
Water, pour it in
+Jason Elbert Water, 5cc's (cap of water) and shake around. Then look through the bore aperture to confirm there is no water in the way of the bullet path. Then keep calm and thread on ;)
+nhojyelbom I know some makers recommend a certain volume of liquid like 5cc. Didn't know of people actually measure. I've never shot wet. So water is better than "silencer juice", white lithium grease or wire pulling gel? I've recently read that ultrasound gel works well too
+Jason Elbert wire pulling gel is less messy, stays in can better. I think water is the best for db reduction
NFA Review Channel I got a stupid question. Does it matter which end you pour the water in?
OG!!
I thought I saw evidence of baffle strikes @ 2;24. Being new to suppressors, am I correct?
+Ed Rogers (Logan, UT) You are incorrect. That is a normal design feature for these type of baffles.
+fireman1291 That's great news. I'm strongly considering the Mask HD for my PS90. Thanks!
Need to get one for my 22 Rifle so how do I get the kit. Who do I contact? Please let me know. Thanks. ronmorze
The 7 people who put a thumbs down are just hating cause it sounds great
7(👍)
Puedo solicitar uno favor de enviar contacto gracias
It would not surprise me if Walmart stops selling purple clean now this guy mentions it can be used to clean these things.
What ammo were you using?
Can't believe I forgot to mention that! I was using CCI Standard Velocity.
Can someone explain what he means by Dry and Wet , I’m new to owning a pistol Thanks Guys
Video search: Everything you need to know about silencers
How can bget one
So if you had to choose...Surefire Ryder 22a, 22s, or this one?
This, all day everyday
+fireman1291 do they make a 9mm version?
I need this design in PDF format
how come no one uses neoprene wipes any more?
Dead Air actually makes the Ghost M that takes a wipe. The problem is that the ATF has ruled that a wipe is a suppressor unto itself therefore you need to have an NFA manufacturer just to swap it out. It sounds crazy... but it's true. Look it up.
Suppressors should be legal. For Military applications, it's just more weight.
Just bought one and they no longer gave that nice heat-resistant sleeve.
Lol, seems to me he doesn't use a bolt action rifle to often.
what do you use to make the suppressor (wet ) ?
Jerry bur, Water works. a 1 CC eye dropper is all you need.
could you not use this on a 556 rifle? just wondering
NO.
Yes but only one time. Youll waste your money. Watch the see-through-suppressor video to see what would happen to this one if you try that.
Racking the bolt will alert your victim and make a clean assassination difficult. Stick with the Colt or the Ruger.
Derppppppppppp 💀🖕
@@Agent-vj3ns smd
Bolt action is sooo quiet, it’s strange. What does wet and dry mean???
💀
I'm going on 9 months and am about to explode!
Sometimes i wonder what the ATF actually DOES with the paperwork that it takes this long.
@@UpcomingJedi I think it is fully intentional . Not the specific agents, but the agency. Just anouther thing that dissaides people. I heard there are only 5 or 6 agents manning the entire countrys paperwork
Wet or dry using what...., water, light oil, or.....? Also I notice no wipe, yes/no? Quiet beyond absurdity, can it handle 5.56?
I want him
What does BBL stand for??
BBL = Barrel
Black Lives Matter
OH Gosh
Calm down Rambo
Staple gun quiet 🤫
