Steel ink remover, it's all the best solvents in an aerosol can. We use it at work and my wife used it to remove really old over spray on our vinyl siding. Love watching, thanks
Really enjoyed this projet...'cause i have the exact same year model. Reminded me memories when i tore it down and rebuilt it. I get around 5 feet of snow with temps down to -30c and with the soft top , 20 inch rubber tracks and heating, it is a truly a very practical fun vehicule. There is no other vehicule out there that can sit 6 adults
Rubbing compound and a wool pad on a 7 inch grinder will take most overspray off plastic. Put the rubbing compound in a squeeze bottle. Squeeze a small amount on the body and get to working it with the wool pad. This same method will shine aluminum. You can bring old paint back to a shine also. On paint, remember to stay off the hard body lines or you can burn the paint. Then you can move to polishing compound to really make things shine. Harbor Freight sells foam pads and rubbing compound that are suppose to do the same. Use old t shirts or sheets to wipe the surface of old compound and paint.
Use aircraft paint remover with a brush. Just be careful if left too long it will start to eat the plastic but will definitely remove the paint way before it hurts the plastic I do it all the time
Try sanding it lightly since it's plastic, you could try lacquer thinner but I would be afraid it might melt it or try some alcohol 85 to 90% that might work that would be the best thing I could tell you but that thing looks great so far!! Nice!!!!! Could try maybe some mineral spirits
Hi To remove over spray paint on plastic what works very well is a brush on paint remover because it won't hurt plastic and will remove the over spray, then gently use a soft steel wool pad to remove the wrinkled paint
Red Beard's Garage did you use some kind of gasket seal or something when you put the top and bottom body pieces together? Love this build and this channel.
Brake bleeding goes so much faster if you let the brake pushrod FULLY return and wait a second until you depress the plunger again. You need the plunger to uncover the feed hole that allows fluid into the cavity and allow time for the air to escape and the fluid to fill the chamber. All rapidly cycling the brake pedal or lever does is add air bubbles to the system.
If it's not to much over spray you can try some super fine steel wool like grade #0000. Iv had success with it on plastic and just a light buffing and it will look like new. Hope this helps
i use dot 3 or 4 old break fluid to remove paint from plastic, it wil remove paint but not dissolve plastic ( leave it for a day or 2 if not al comes of repeat again )
Try Nitro Methane. I've used it for dissolving chemicals on plastic car parts I was restoring where acetone did not work. Its the fuel that nitro RC cars run on. You've got to be careful with it though. Try it on a test area first.
Try Off in a small spot. Deet is an old trick for improving hazy headlights. It works by melting a layer I believe, so it may be to hard on the plastic.
RedBeard che k out 2Vintage's channel. Maybe you have seen them. They restore lots of brand name vintage to newish off-road toys. Including thier OEM PLASTICS. They use some kind of citrus off stuff. PLASTIC UNHARMED.
Aircraft paint remover..napa or walmart sells cheaper version just takes a few mins longer.. wear safety glasses with that sh!+. Itll eat your skin off but safe on plastic
