Some info: The yellow bar under the health is the "instinct gauge" which you can use to temporarly buff yourself. Also Rash (The frog) is from battle toads, Ram (Shanking guy) is from Gears of War, and the Arbiter (the guy who looks like hes from halo) is in fact from Halo.

The Arbiter is in fact a Halo character, General Raam is from Gears of War, and Rash is from Battletoads. There is also older Killer Instinct games with Ultras and Fatalities. Y'all should react to those too.
The yellow bar is known as the Instinct Bar. When a character takes a certain amount of damage, they can active Instinct. It gives them a temporary boost which can be used to make a comeback. Mira, She is a former member of the Night Guard and the fraternal twin sister of Maya who sacrificed herself years ago to save Maya during a botched mission slaying vampires, but she has since returned as one of the very things they came to destroy. Now a member of a Russian Coven of vampires, Mira has become the favored lieutenant of an ancient vampire master known as the "True Tsar". A 6'11 legendary barbarian and warrior champion who was called Tunth-ska in the ancient world, Tusk's a hefty fighter characterized by his preternatural strength and mastery of two-handed greatswords. In Killer Instinct (2013) he is an immortal guardian known as the "Watchman of the Gods", who was created 10,000 years ago by angelic beings to serve as Earth's sentinel against the demon lord Gargos. 8:36 Omen, Herald of Gargos and all around bad dude. the dark spirit that had possessed the warrior Jago, turning him into Shadow Jago. He is a loyal servant of the astral deity Gargos, and has been given the special duty of preparing the world for the return of his master. 9:12 Arbiter is indeed a Halo Character. He's well known to those who follow Halo, going from villain to Anti-Hero to Hero from Halo to Halo 3 and beyond. 9:58 ARIA, an abbreviation standing for "Advanced Robotics Intelligence Architecture", is a new character introduced in the Season Two of Killer Instinct (2013). An artificial superintelligence created by Ultratech's founder, Ryat Adams, ARIA was designed to direct the evolution of the human species and ensure its long-term survival. The AI has since taken full control of Ultratech as its CEO, and mysteriously alternates between an antagonist to the human heroes and a foil to the demonic forces of Gargos. 10:35 Cinder, he's an ex-special forces operative who volunteered to have his DNA spliced with alien genetics as part of Ultratech's Project Cinder, becoming the lieutenant and enforcer of the megacorporation's CEO, ARIA. 12:14 Aganos is an ancient war-golem that originated in Mycenaean Greece. 13:00 Riptor everyone's favorite Cyber Raptor. Originally a Human/Raptor this game made the wise decision to turn her into a mass produced Ultratech creation. Quote: The ancient gods created the dinosaur, and the ancient gods destroyed it. So Ultratech has created the Stalker unit. And so it in turn shall destroy an ancient god. 13:38 Khan-Ra is a cursed sorcerer from Ancient Babylon. Condemned by the Babylonian King that he betrayed to walk the Earth as a decaying corpse, Kan-Ra seeks to undo his affliction through whatever means he can find - and is more than willing to inflict a few of his own unto others along the way. He is the nemesis of Aganos, the war-golem sent by his former sovereign to hunt him down and destroy him. 14:16 Maya, OG character. An Amazonian queen who hails from South America's rain forests, in the update to her character she is the last remaining member of a secretive cabal of monster hunters known as the Night Guard, in the Season Two of Killer Instinct (2013), and was given a fraternal twin in Season Three through the new character Mira. 14:58 T.J. Combo. I was gonna go into detail but since he has a Death Battle vs Balrog from Street Fighter, I recommend that to learn more. Please 🙏🙏🥺🥺 15:34 Fulgore! The mascot of Killer Instinct. Also has a Death Battle. 🙏🥺🙏🥺 16:08 Spinal is a reanimated skeleton and the restless remains of an ancient warrior. One of the signature characters of the Killer Instinct franchise. 16:40 Sadira is the first female antagonist introduced to the series. She is a mysterious female assassin whose allegiance lies with Ultratech. A ruthless killer who delights in seeing her targets in pain, showing a clear sadistic streak in the way she taunts them in her native Thai tongue before each battle. She is easily influenced by fame and fortune, striking a deal with Ultratech in order to make the Red Eyes of Rylai the most powerful clan of assassins in the world. She also shows much dishonesty and cunning, having claimed her position in the Red Eyes by murdering her mentor and taking her place - she knows when to stay in line though, as during her service with Ultratech she was very loyal to ARIA and would undertake any order, knowing she was well out of her league with the megacorporation. However, after her ill-fated encounters with Glacius and Hisako she was discharged from ARIA's service and beaten to a pulp by her former comrade, Cinder. Frustrated and seeking revenge, she has been swayed by Gargos' temptations before and has trouble keeping control of her hidden temper. 17:16 Shadow Jago is the Omen possessed Jago. 18:24 Sabrewulf OG character, one of my other personal favorites. His main goal is to find his brother Tipyeléhne, also known as Eagle, who was kidnapped by Ultratech years ago. Thunder has learned from Orchid that Eagle was used in the creation of the Fulgore Mk. III, and since then he has fought against Ultratech. 19:33 Orchid OG signature character, Jago's Half-sister. Also has a Death Battle 🙏🥺 20:08 Glacius, OG signature character. Alien. Also has a Death Battle 🙏🥺🥺🙏 20:38 Jago, is a mysterious warrior monk from a remote region of Tibet and the main protagonist of the Killer Instinct series, having been playable in every installment. Guided by the mysterious Tiger Spirit to seek his destiny, he has been led to the Killer Instinct tournament to destroy the evil within. He is the younger half-brother of Orchid. (basically this Game's Ryu or Lu Kang.) Thanks if you made it too the End ☺️☺️☺️.
Eagle wasn't killed by Ultratech. They captured him and copied his consciousness to control the Fulgore units. Later Glacius broke into one of Ultratech's labs, found him and freed him. That's why Eagle looks the way he does, because Glacius gave him some of his technology.
Great way to start Friday. The musical finishers of this game are one of my favorite things in it. What makes it even better is that when a character does their ultra combo, it has a specific rhythm to it, but the melody/musical style will match that of whatever song is playing for that particular fight. So since each of the 29 characters has their own theme, there are 29 different variations for the jingle of each ultra combo.
Cinder's theme has always been my favorite theme in the Killer Instinct series with Spinal being second, I have the soundtrack and listen to it all the time, I don't know if it's just me but fighting games seem to have some of the best music in video games.
Sweet! Riptor is my main she's super fun to play. BTW the ultra's music changes depending on the stage/stage music you choose, they sync to the stages music so there's so many combinations. My favorite is Riptor's Ultra on Orchid's stage it sounds so cool.
Also keep in mind that Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon used this folklore of a vengeful spirit, combined it with tales of the ninja and added Ghost Rider. What does that equal: SCORPION.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Hisako has a purified form she has obtained called Shin Hisako, which means True Everlasting Child. Shin Hisako is almost identical to Hisako, but with some drastic changes. She now wears the signature sode shoulder armor and suneate shin guards of a samurai, combined with a black and gold dress and a yellow flower attached to her hair. Her eyes are now bright gold, same goes for her aura to symbolize her purged spirit. No longer an onryō spirit, gone is the cursed dagger filled maw; her mouth and teeth now appear human. Discarding her late father's naginata, she now wields his katana which contains a coalesced Guardian assigned to help her in her duties as a gatekeeper.
This game has so much passion in it love the music and the stages told a story for the characters too still play it to this day. Loved how they made the ultra's to a beat as well was a cool little touch, the soundtrack still probably one of my favorites from a fighting game with how diverse it is with some callbacks to the older songs along with the dynamic stages. Also man Shadow Jago's ultra combo is pretty sick still to this day.
There is technically 3 versions of jago, you got the regular one you have shadow jago that's been taken over by an evil spirit, that spirit being omen which is why they have similar moves
Hisako is Japanese meaning, "everlasting child". She's an onyro, which in Japanese folklore are vengeful spirits who were murdered in their past life and their souls can not rest. They're your typical Japanese horror film ghosts based on their movement. They will not only kill the person who caused their death but also anyone who crosses their path. Vengeance will forever consume them for there are many onyro's in folklore. Hisako however is a good onryo. Her entire village was massacred and being a skilled warrior, she took out the majority of the invaders before succumbing to her wounds. Her father asked her to assist Kim-Wu in defeating Gargos before it's too late. Even Kim's Dragon Spirit respects and needed Hisako to help free the Earth.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames To follow up on that, regarding Shin Hisako: The conclusion of Hisako's story mode sees her return to her village, where she's greeted by a vision of her father. She was trained by him to be a samurai while she was alive, so to hear him tell her how proud he was to have a true samurai for a daughter must have lifted her spirits, so to speak. Both the naganata she carries around and the nodachi her Shin form wields belonged to her father, but it's in taking up the nodachi that she transcends her onryo status and becomes a kami, which are like Japanese gods. "Shin" means either "new" or "true"- This is both a new Hisako, and Hisako following her true desire. Her desire to protect life was so strong that it overpowered the vengeance that bound her to her grave as a spirit. If that's not cool, I dunno what is. Especially since she's one of only two characters with an alternate form on the roster, the other being series mascot Jago.
I love Maya's ultra combo. The fact that she throws her daggers at you, and chill for a minute letting themslice you up and she shaking her head in disappointment, is by far a sassy finish lol. And seeing Hisako all up in your face on a huge TV is even more of a NOPE moment lol
The TJ Combo character from this game as a Deathbattle with Barlog from Street fighter that was one of the most popular Deathbattles out there. Be sure to do a reaction to that!
Killer Instinct was known in arcades for its awesome soundtrack, which probably sold as much as the game itself. This version rolled with it and just scrolling up and down through the main menu chimes out the KI theme song.
Oh you’d definitely love the character trailers, really brings out some of the characters even more than their ultras. Also, Hisako is easily my favorite female fighting game character ever and is up there as an all time fave, glad to see you two get creeped out by her LOL
Bit of trivia for you: Cinder's theme was done in part by James "Little V" Mills, he's a music teacher and heavy metal guitarist up here in Canada. He also has a RUclips channel where he does metal covers of songs, it's well worth checking out: ruclips.net/user/LittleVMills
The character trailers for the whole cast is fantastic. They're theatrical, they're well-paced and well done, they're definitely worth a watch! A fellow RUclipsr was actually hired to edit the trailers for some of them, he was a big fan of KI as a kid and it's a nice story to know going into watching the trailers. A sort of "dreams can come true" kind of story :)
Killer instinct is one of my favorite fighting games, you guys would probably like it since it’s a fast based fighting game kinda like mortal kombat a little bit
This game is SERIOUSLY slept on. Many casual players, extremely intimidated by the combo system, have never bothered trying the game out, which is a shame. Also to note, each ultra is a character theme song. Each character has their own trailer, so you could def check those out.
4:01 That is General Raam from Gears of War game. He is a guest character in Killer Instinct. 4:55 And that is Rash from old classic retro game Battletoads. The one of the hardcore games that you don't wanna mess with. That is my childhood right there! Remember playing that game on NES. Ah, good old times. 9:47 Yes, that is the Arbiter from Halo. I only played Halo 1 and 2, so i only remember him from Halo 2 as a secondary playable character. 14:30 Also she was played for motion capture by Kerri Hoskins, that played Sonya in Mortal Kombat 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat 4! Thus, you can say that we have like two characters in one. HOW COOL IS THAT?! 20:41 Well, that is original version of Jago. The other version you saw was Shadow Jago, like evil version of him. It's like there is Ryu in Street Fighter but then there is Evil Ryu, or like in Mortal Kombat there is simple human Liu Kang but then there is Zombie Liu Kang. Stuff like that.
If you don't know the giant turtle without a shell is Battle Road (old school game from the 90s/80s) big scary dude with Knife is General RAAM from Gears of War
The guy you said who sounds like a retro game, he's one of the toads from Battle Toads, which was pretty much a similar set up like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as for the guy you thought was from Halo, you're correct, he's the Arbiter from Halo 2, 3, and this is his design from Halo 5 Guardians.
I like how every characters do their combos and the music hits while doing it. We need more Killer Instinct games. Plus I love the first Killer Instinct 1994 theme song, it gets you pumped up. My favorite combo here was Shadow Jago, Jago, Orchid, and Rash.
If y'all think Hisako was creepy, check out more Killer Instinct Ultimate of each characters and you'll see how she would do by possessing their opponents! 👍🏿
The "frog" was a Battle Toad from the Battle Toad series of games. I was worried you guys wouldn't notice that Arbiter is from Halo. I suppose you guys haven't met him yet in your Halo playthrough. Kan-ra's Ultra Combo was my favorite, but Hisako (the second creepy one) seems like the type of character I would main if I ever played this.
Fun fact: Orchid's private background is that she's American born, that Jago is her half-younger brother; and that their father was a soldier named Jacob.
The yellow bar is instinct. I't kind of a comeback mechanic. You can kind of use it 2x a match and it does a bunch of stuff depending on the character. Like Jago, his fireballs will heal him, TJ Combo gets more speed and if he has it when he loses, he comes back with 10% health. Mostly it fills character's weaknesses for a time. The purple bar at the bottom is your basic meter you spend to do special moves and it feeds into the combo system. One cool thing about the music is it actually changes depending on player actions. Like for example if nobody does anything it's actually ramp down and became more melodic. Even with the Ultras you have to input all those moves so you can control the melody somewhat. I really can't name anyone that put that much effort into the music for a fighting game.
back in 1994 the fight was on, between class mates who had Mortal Kombat, and those who had Killer Instinct. it was the school-grade Ford vs Chevrolet of video games.
Killer Instinct had some cameos from other franchises. Rash is from Battletoads, General RAAM is the main villain from Gears Of War 1 and Arbiter is one of the main characters from Halo 3
Another really fun game. Fun fact, I bought my first Xbox One solely for Sabrewulf when this game was first revealed for SGC 2013. The game only launched with Jago and Sabrewulf and everybody else was released as DLC. But the instant I saw Sabre, I was immediately sold. A whole new $400-500 console for one fighting game character... To this day, this remains my favorite fighting game. And I honestly suck at fighting games like MK and SF. But KI was super easy to get in to.
Tj combo and thunder are my mains and literally inspired my gamertag Chief Combo. In the 90s thunder was chief and he was a beast as he still is now. I'm alright with rash and cinder but tj and thunder ooh boi. Shoot they I even got my gamertag tattooed on my arm because I love gaming so much and KI made me believe in fighting games can be as good as this game.
Fun fact: thunder and eagle are brothers from the nez perce tribe. And they actually went to the tribe and got real nez perce art clothing and also weapons. They also got real feedback from the tribe and worked with them to make them more accurate. The best part?? They showed the game demo to nez perce kids and they could see one of their own in a video game that's not stereotyped. Awesome video guys hope for more!
19:42 - "Why do I feel she's wearing slutty army costume" You should check out her costume and body language in the original Killer Instinct arcade game from 1994. Speaking of which, I'm sure there's an OG Killer Instinct Ultra Combo compilation you guys can react to.
The Green toad who you described as a Ninja Turtle but without the shell is one of the 3 BattleToads and his name is Rash. Battletoads was a classic beat em up game that started on the NES(which is why his sound effects sound 8-bit.) The Battletoads' abilities are shape-shifting their hands, feets, and heads like giant fist, giant boot with or without spikes, ram horn or football helmet, power drill, hammer, wrecking ball, circular saw, even a forklift bulldozer.
I remember playing this game in Arcade Room in town in 90'. I saw a guy did a 94 hits combo with Orchid on a Arcade Game of Killer Instinct 2. You should watch the ultra of the older games Killer Instinct 1 & 2 also. I love the voice off who tell "tittle" of Combo. Awesome combo / killer combo / monster combo and the famous Ultraaaa Ultraaaa Ultraaa !!!!
My buddy used to play this at like a super high level. He was gonna go to some tournament, but then didn't... probably cause he couldn't drive 😂 General Raam is the main bad guy from Gears of War 1. There's a DLC for Gears 3 where you play as Raam is so dope.
Omg I love Killer instinct and Rash is from Battletoads a famous hard game back on the NES. His outro is cause they haven't had a new game until sometime last year I believe. Old school beat em up games.
Killer Instict had a few crossover characters. Rash was from an old game called Battletoads on the NES. The guy with the laser sword, was Arbiter from, what you guessed, Halo. And General Raam, the prison shank guy, was from Gears of War.
Man, I've seen a few of these "All supers" reaction from you two, and it made me realize how confusing they must be to people unfamiliar with the games. This one was better than most, but it did the characters in reverse, starting with the bosses and alternate forms, ending on the main characters. Plus the dude in the video kept missing the combo enders! For suggestions, I would say the trailers, I wouldn't recommend the finishers, they're kind of tacked on. Maybe the classic finishers, since they include "humiliations" which force the opponent to do a boogie dance.
That one character you notice is indeed from Halo called Arbiter. Both Halo and KI are properties of Microsoft so I assume they thought it'be cool to bring Arbiter into KI. In the KI tournaments, Arbiter was one of the strongest characters which was later nerfed.
Killer instinct have dynamic music based on situation. It can be agressive in battle and calm in neutral. Ultra sound is generating and instrument is depended on stage, so each character have many variation of it. All thank to god of music - Mick Gordon. He also made music fot new Doom. Combo system is very unique. It hard to describe. Some sort of custom combo
KI used to be Xbox exclusive so yeah, it was a Halo character there) also cant wait for KI-2, its such a unique fighting game, it just needs modern graphics
Ken. Sorry I watched this already, but I rewatch y’all stuff a lot….. Fight me 🤣 Thunder and Eagle(1st ultra) are brothers and Tusk says death comes to all, except me because he really can’t die. Man isn’t bragging, he really is immortal👍🏾
Ain’t bragging if it’s true 😎🤟 And we would never fight you for watching our videos more than once. If for no other reason than we are lovers not fighters 😜🥰🤗
This game speaks in all caps. Also fun fact. If you use the classic costume on fulgore and do his ultimate, if you look closely you can make out the Rare symbol which were the original creators of killer instinct before microsoft bought the rights.
I like how the man called general ram a cross between killer croc and they forget who else he said general ram was crossed with but I really like the general ram one that one was pretty cool
Jago is the original before he was being possessed by either Omen or Gargos, turning him into Shadow Jago. Jago has been spending most of his life fighting his inner demons. Orchid is also his sister.
5:39 Again? When will the vampire-on-werewolf violence *_end?_* Both of them can rule the night together! Can't they just get along? 😁 5:56 Impressed Ken is impressed! And yes, Mira has *_the_* best Ultra Combo hit music of all! 😊 P.S. Watching you two get creeped out over Hisako's antics was pure gold!
My favorite part of this watching this game was always the announcer going absolutely insane. 😂

No offense but rash is a toad(battle toads)
Killer Instinct's roster are essentially a tribute to every genre of fiction.

I didn’t know that I wonder if they have different movies for their genres

Then we got some crossovers to shit like halo and fucking battletoads
T.J Combo’s more on the sports fiction genre than action hero genre.

7:45 Tusk is another OG K.I. character.
Please 🙏🙏🥺🥺
15:34 Fulgore! The mascot of Killer Instinct. Also has a Death Battle. 🙏🥺🙏🥺
16:08 Spinal is a reanimated skeleton and the restless remains of an ancient warrior.
Also has a Death Battle 🙏🥺🙏🥺
18:58 Thunder (real name hinmatoom, formerly known in the original universe as Chief Thunder) is a traditional Native American Nez Percé tribal warrior, He mainly speaks in his native language of Niimi'ipuutímt out of preference, though he does know English.
Also has a Death Battle 🙏🥺
20:08 Glacius, OG signature character. Alien. Also has a Death Battle 🙏🥺🥺🙏
20:38 Jago, is a mysterious warrior monk from a remote region of Tibet and the main protagonist of the Killer Instinct series, having been playable in every installment. Guided by the mysterious Tiger Spirit to seek his destiny, he has been led to the Killer Instinct tournament to destroy the evil within. He is the younger half-brother of Orchid. (basically this Game's Ryu or Lu Kang.)
Thanks if you made it too the End ☺️☺️☺️.
Thanks for giving all the info on the characters 😀 also, is their more than one cyber raptor out there? 😯😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames a few I believe. None as beloved as Riptor. ☺️☺️☺️
Eagle wasn't killed by Ultratech.
They captured him and copied his consciousness to control the Fulgore units.
Later Glacius broke into one of Ultratech's labs, found him and freed him.
That's why Eagle looks the way he does, because Glacius gave him some of his technology.
Also
3:55 General Raam, is a guest character (along with Arbiter and Rash) from a game called Gears of War
Killer instinct also has ultimates to react to. The are really cool.
to bad the ultimates was a side thing late in the games life :/
We plan to check those out as well 🙂
Some of them don’t have ultimates
21:39 That character you liked is General RAAM and the bats are called kryll. He is from the Gears of War franchise.
A franchise we for sure need to check out and has been requested a lot 😀
Great way to start Friday. The musical finishers of this game are one of my favorite things in it. What makes it even better is that when a character does their ultra combo, it has a specific rhythm to it, but the melody/musical style will match that of whatever song is playing for that particular fight. So since each of the 29 characters has their own theme, there are 29 different variations for the jingle of each ultra combo.
That’s a ton of variations 😀 Nice that they took the time to do all of that music 🙂
Cinder's theme has always been my favorite theme in the Killer Instinct series with Spinal being second, I have the soundtrack and listen to it all the time, I don't know if it's just me but fighting games seem to have some of the best music in video games.
This one in particular has an on point soundtrack 😎🤟
Sweet! Riptor is my main she's super fun to play. BTW the ultra's music changes depending on the stage/stage music you choose, they sync to the stages music so there's so many combinations. My favorite is Riptor's Ultra on Orchid's stage it sounds so cool.
Oh nice. That’s cool that they have even more music depending on the stage and character. That makes for a lot of combinations and songs 😀
6:46 Gargos has actually a second Ultra Ender. The only requirement is : you must have your green health bar or you won't perform it.
Bummer we didn’t get to see it in this. Always one missing 😝
Making a song out of a combo is such an interesting concept. Never thought I'd see something like that in a fighting game.
Points for originality for sure 😎🤟🤩
Also keep in mind that Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon used this folklore of a vengeful spirit, combined it with tales of the ninja and added Ghost Rider.
What does that equal: SCORPION.
😎🤟
The fact that they added General Raam from gears of war was so cool
This game has so much passion in it love the music and the stages told a story for the characters too still play it to this day. Loved how they made the ultra's to a beat as well was a cool little touch, the soundtrack still probably one of my favorites from a fighting game with how diverse it is with some callbacks to the older songs along with the dynamic stages. Also man Shadow Jago's ultra combo is pretty sick still to this day.
😎🤟
There is technically 3 versions of jago, you got the regular one you have shadow jago that's been taken over by an evil spirit, that spirit being omen which is why they have similar moves
😎👍🙂
😯😨 appreciate the extra backstory and info on Hisako
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames To follow up on that, regarding Shin Hisako:
The conclusion of Hisako's story mode sees her return to her village, where she's greeted by a vision of her father.
Yup. Hisako is frightening as hell 🫣 And nice call on the sassy finish 🙂
Fulgores devastation bean sound is strangely satisfying and destructive
😛
My favorite is Hisako 11:29, she's beautiful in a creepy way.
😎🤟
Glad you mentioned how the music links into the Ultras.
It’s a cool game mechanic 🙂
Im really happy to see you guys looking at killer instinct one of my favorite games ever. Can't wait for you guys to check more in the future!
It was a fun intro into the franchise 😎🤟
The Killer Instinct series is a classic, I wish they would make another.
Never say never 🤗
Your reaction to Hisako was exactly what I wanted to see from y'all lol
The TJ Combo character from this game as a Deathbattle with Barlog from Street fighter that was one of the most popular Deathbattles out there. Be sure to do a reaction to that!
We will for sure check it out 😀
Killer Instinct was known in arcades for its awesome soundtrack, which probably sold as much as the game itself. This version rolled with it and just scrolling up and down through the main menu chimes out the KI theme song.
😎🤟
Oh you’d definitely love the character trailers, really brings out some of the characters even more than their ultras. Also, Hisako is easily my favorite female fighting game character ever and is up there as an all time fave, glad to see you two get creeped out by her LOL
She was sufficiently creepy haha 🫣
It's great you guys reacted to this, to this day I still play this game, keep up the good work
Bit of trivia for you: Cinder's theme was done in part by James "Little V" Mills, he's a music teacher and heavy metal guitarist up here in Canada. He also has a RUclips channel where he does metal covers of songs, it's well worth checking out: ruclips.net/user/LittleVMills
Thanks for sharing the link 🙂
The character trailers for the whole cast is fantastic. They're theatrical, they're well-paced and well done, they're definitely worth a watch! A fellow RUclipsr was actually hired to edit the trailers for some of them, he was a big fan of KI as a kid and it's a nice story to know going into watching the trailers. A sort of "dreams can come true" kind of story :)
Thanks for sharing that story with us 😀☺️🥳
Killer instinct is one of my favorite fighting games, you guys would probably like it since it’s a fast based fighting game kinda like mortal kombat a little bit
Perfect game for the button mash Queen 😛
This game is SERIOUSLY slept on. Many casual players, extremely intimidated by the combo system, have never bothered trying the game out, which is a shame. Also to note, each ultra is a character theme song. Each character has their own trailer, so you could def check those out.
when I played the original, I had moves from Street Fighter memorized.
I thought this would have some of the same basic moves....... _nope!_
We plan to check out the character trailers at some point 🙂
An okay. Every game needs some type of alternate version of a character. An evil devil shadow corrupted version 😈
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Well, yeah. Evil version of main characters are sometimes fun to play as.
The variety of characters in this game is insane.
Yup 🤩
KI is very loved by its community. There are entire docummentaries about it on youtube.
One of them about its sound design.
We can definitely see that about the sound design having a documentary 🙂
If you don't know the giant turtle without a shell is Battle Road (old school game from the 90s/80s) big scary dude with Knife is General RAAM from Gears of War
Thanks for helping us with that 😀
The guy you said who sounds like a retro game, he's one of the toads from Battle Toads, which was pretty much a similar set up like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as for the guy you thought was from Halo, you're correct, he's the Arbiter from Halo 2, 3, and this is his design from Halo 5 Guardians.
Cool beans. We will see him in Halo 2 when we start playing on channel Friday 😀
I like how every characters do their combos and the music hits while doing it. We need more Killer Instinct games. Plus I love the first Killer Instinct 1994 theme song, it gets you pumped up. My favorite combo here was Shadow Jago, Jago, Orchid, and Rash.
Good picks 🙂
Killer Instinct 🔥
A game way ahead of it's time
On top of that, a free to play game
Free 😀😎🤟
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yea 😅
If y'all think Hisako was creepy, check out more Killer Instinct Ultimate of each characters and you'll see how she would do by possessing their opponents! 👍🏿
And yet, she is still good girl (or, at least, considerably less bad than, like, two thirds of cast)
😯😨
The "frog" was a Battle Toad from the Battle Toad series of games. I was worried you guys wouldn't notice that Arbiter is from Halo. I suppose you guys haven't met him yet in your Halo playthrough.
Kan-ra's Ultra Combo was my favorite, but Hisako (the second creepy one) seems like the type of character I would main if I ever played this.
I LOVE HALO!!!! As a soon as he came up, I started fangurling!
We just finished first Halo and are starting Halo 2 this Friday 😀
oh man this is the best game right here killer instinct is my favorite game to play I just recently played the one on Xbox one and it is amazing
Nice! 😀
the insane thing about this game music combos have their own notes to the hit that every ultra is it's own music
It’s very creative way to incorporate music in the game 😀
5:22 that's because he was he's "Rash" from the Nintendo entertainment system game
Battletoads
Never played but heard it was crazy hard game 😯
The old school Killer Instinct games hold a special place in my heart...
☺️😎🤟
Fun fact: Orchid's private background is that she's American born, that Jago is her half-younger brother; and that their father was a soldier named Jacob.
Nice little background info 🙂
And also to have different music for the combos on different levels is kind of crazy dedicated 😯
back in 1994 the fight was on, between class mates who had Mortal Kombat, and those who had Killer Instinct.
it was the school-grade Ford vs Chevrolet of video games.
☺️😎🤟
Killer Instinct had some cameos from other franchises. Rash is from Battletoads, General RAAM is
the main villain from Gears Of War 1 and Arbiter is one of the main characters from Halo 3
Good thing there were other things for you to check out for that investment 🤑😜 This may be a fighting game we have to play at some point 🙂
My favorite characters of Killer Instinct:
1. Maya
2. TJ Combo
3. Kim Wu
4. Rash
5. Cinder
6. Jago
7. Hisako
8. Shadow Jago
9. Eagle
10. Thunder
11. Orchid
Maya gets the top spot! Nice 😀
Nice origin story 😁🥳😎🤟
If you like the sounds of the music with each hit, then you’ll love the uninterrupted music of each character. Absolutely Killer!
Here the ultras are like make your musical theme of your own
Fun fact: thunder and eagle are brothers from the nez perce tribe.
Hisako used to give everybody nightmares
We believe it 🫣
Hasko is the one that scared me
Rash - Battletoads
Raam - Gears of War
Arbiter - Halo
Thanks! 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames No problem. And yes the first game is in NES.
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS!!
Our pleasure 🥳🥳
OMG MY SUGGESTION WAS PICKED
🥳🥳🍾🥂🤗🙂
19:42 - "Why do I feel she's wearing slutty army costume"
You should check out her costume and body language in the original Killer Instinct arcade game from 1994. Speaking of which, I'm sure there's an OG Killer Instinct Ultra Combo compilation you guys can react to.
We will be checking out some of the older stuff as well 🙂
One of the best Western fighting games no cap
😎🤟
The Green toad who you described as a Ninja Turtle but without the shell is one of the 3 BattleToads and his name is Rash.
Battletoads was a classic beat em up game that started on the NES(which is why his sound effects sound 8-bit.)
The Battletoads' abilities are shape-shifting their hands, feets, and heads like giant fist, giant boot with or without spikes, ram horn or football helmet, power drill, hammer, wrecking ball, circular saw, even a forklift bulldozer.
😎👍😀 Sounds like a fun game
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames It is also brutally difficult.
It’s a fun game we will be coming back to to check out more 🙂
The so called “frogs” are actually the battle toads from the old school games in the 1990s or somewhere.
😎👍🙂
The guy that looks like a ninja turtle is actually a Battle Toad from a different franchise
We heard one of the toughest games on SNES 😯
My buddy used to play this at like a super high level. He was gonna go to some tournament, but then didn't... probably cause he couldn't drive 😂
General Raam is the main bad guy from Gears of War 1. There's a DLC for Gears 3 where you play as Raam is so dope.
He doesn’t have an Uber account or anything? A bus pass? Winning the tournament could pay for both it seems 😜🤑
Omg I love Killer instinct and Rash is from Battletoads a famous hard game back on the NES. His outro is cause they haven't had a new game until sometime last year I believe. Old school beat em up games.
Old school beat ‘‘em up like Double Dragon 😀
Shoutouts to Mike the Announcer. The game wouldn't have felt as hype without him.
UUUULLLTTTRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Love this franchise, since playing it in the arcades. The reboot on Xbox One was the reason I bought the system.
😎🤟 i want that announcer dude to record a welcome message for when I come home welcoooooooooommmmmmme 😝
Killer Instict had a few crossover characters.
Rash was from an old game called Battletoads on the NES.
The guy with the laser sword, was Arbiter from, what you guessed, Halo.
And General Raam, the prison shank guy, was from Gears of War.
Always like the character crossovers 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames yeah they are always pretty fun
haven't seen killer instinct in years, nice to see it's still going strong
Man, I've seen a few of these "All supers" reaction from you two, and it made me realize how confusing they must be to people unfamiliar with the games. This one was better than most, but it did the characters in reverse, starting with the bosses and alternate forms, ending on the main characters. Plus the dude in the video kept missing the combo enders! For suggestions, I would say the trailers, I wouldn't recommend the finishers, they're kind of tacked on. Maybe the classic finishers, since they include "humiliations" which force the opponent to do a boogie dance.
A boogie dance? 😂 we gotta see those
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Here's a good compilation of the classic finishers in case you need it, copy this to the url bar: watch?v=3tDOY-hd5Xs
A game we want to explore more for sure 🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames It one of the few game with very good tutorial because it teach you many deep details that most tutorial don't desribes

This game speaks in all caps. Also fun fact. If you use the classic costume on fulgore and do his ultimate, if you look closely you can make out the Rare symbol which were the original creators of killer instinct before microsoft bought the rights.
Nice fun fact there 😀 also love that first sentence 😂 ultraaaaaaaaa
I really do love how they have characters from different games
It was a nice surprise 😀
I like how the man called general ram a cross between killer croc and they forget who else he said general ram was crossed with but I really like the general ram one that one was pretty cool
4:57 battletoad ( snes era)crosover in the house
4:40 gear of war villain
9:24 frenemy of the master chief
Frenemy of master chief ☺️ we just met him last night in our Halo 2 livestream 😀
Jago is the original before he was being possessed by either Omen or Gargos, turning him into Shadow Jago. Jago has been spending most of his life fighting his inner demons. Orchid is also his sister.
I play tested this game when they made the move to PC. It's easily my favorite fighting game alongside Tekken.
