    Since Covid the City Clerk’s Office doesn’t allow “walk-ins” anymore. For the time being, you will receive your Marriage License by appointment only. The "walk-ins” might resume at one point but at the time of this recording everything is by appointment only.
    Today we are going to show you what it looks like to secure an In-Person marriage license interview with the City Clerk’s Office on the Project Cupid website.
    First, you’ll connect with the project cupid website at nyc.gov/cupid.
    Here is the screen that will come up. Now, make sure to click-on the “In-Person Interview Appointment”.
    You’ll see at the top of the page a drop-down menu for the various office locations around the city.
    For this example, we select the Manhattan office but you can go to any City Clerk Office in the 5 boroughs of New York. If there are appointments available, they will populate under the available dates and times.
    In-Person appointments are released right at 9AM EST every Monday morning. We chose to record the video on a day that multiple appointments are available so you can see what it will look like to book a specific date and time. But make sure you are in front of your computer, ready to go at 9am. These appointments will go fast.
    Pick the date and time that works best for you, specifically a date when both you and your partner are physically in the state of NY. You also need to pick a date and time that is at least 24 hours before your wedding date.
    So we have our date and time and then we click next.
    You enter your first and last name for Spouse A, phone number and email address. Then you do the same for Spouse B.
    Click next to review all your information, the date, time and location of your appointment. This is where you can edit anything that needs adjusting.
    Once you click next you get a confirmation that your marriage license interview has officially been schedule. It will pop up on the screen and each of you will get an email with a confirmation number and a detailed rundown of what you need to do and bring for your marriage license interview.
    Now, if you book our "ALL-IN-ONE" elopement package, this video doesn't apply to you because Team Reinking will have taken care of all of this for you.
    Keep your eyes open for another video where we will show you how to book a VIRTUAL marriage license appointment with the City Clerk’s Office.
    And there you have it - the nitty gritty of booking your “in-Person interview appointment” at the City Clerk’s Office in New York City.

    Such a helpful video, thank you! In this example, were you on the website at 9am exactly on Monday to secure the time slots for your couples? I’m getting married in September after a 2 year delay and trying to be super organised with this to ensure we get our in person appointment as we are only in NYC a day and a half before the wedding from Scotland 😊 Also, is it not possible for us to obtain license virtually from the UK as we aren’t physically in NYC? Any word on when they’ll revert to walk ins again? Any other clerk offices up state or in Long Island that accept walk ins as a back up option? Thanks for your help.

    • @JackieandSascha
      @JackieandSascha  2 года назад

      Yes, you have to be online at 8.55am on the Monday for in-person or 8.55am on Thursdays for virtual appointments. For either appointment you have to be in the state of New York. You couldn't do a virtual appointment from overseas. There are other Clerk Offices out on Long Island and upstate that offer the same service but we don't have a lot of experience with those to tell you the truth as the method we describe here as worked (so far) for 100% of our couples. No word yet when they will go back to walk-ins. We have the feeling the appointment method will stay for good. But that is just our opinion and can change any time. :) Good luck!

    Could you make a video on how to book an in-person marriage ceremony at the Clerk's Office? Specifically, I'm looking if you already need to have the marriage license in order to book the ceremony or can you just book the marriage license then book the ceremony 24 hours after that. My soon-to-be spouse would be flying from another state so we don't have a lot of time in between marriage license appointment and marriage ceremony.

    On project Cupid there is an optional for marriage license and marriage ceremony . My fiancé is from NY but recently moved to Alabama for work before we had back to Alabama officially we want to get married civilly in NY. If we do the marriage ceremony option can we get the license and get married certificate at the same time ?

    • @JackieandSascha

      No. You need to make one appointment for the marriage license and a separate appointment for the ceremony at the Clerk's Office as there has to be 24 hour between receiving the license and the ceremony. You also could use an officiant for the ceremony outside of the Clerk's Office. The same 24 hour waiting time applies there as well, though. Hope that makes sense.

    • @JackieandSascha
      @JackieandSascha  Год назад

      The license number is located at the top right hand corner of your marriage license under the "ISSUED" category. For example, the license number will be M-2023-XXX. The city clerk wants you to have secured your marriage license before you book the ceremony because it's required for you to bring the marriage license with you to the ceremony.
      The number you have listed is your application confirmation number.

      @@JackieandSascha thanks for the useful video. So this implies that you cannot book an in-person marraige ceremony until you have physically received your licence number. Is that true? For couples who are eloping from abroad this seems a bit risky, no? You are relying on booking an available marraige ceremony appointments the following day after receiving your licence, which is no guarantee. Project cupid surely allows couples to book a marraige ceremony appointment before the marraige licence appointment has happened. Eloping couples can then be rest assured that they arrive in NYC with a licence appointment and marraige appointment in the diary.
      Hopefully I'm making sense!
      When scheduling a marriage ceremony, in the 'additional information' section at the bottom it asks if you have a marraige licence issued by the city. There is an option to click 'no'. Presumably you can put in the future date and location of when the marriage licence appointment is?

You can select 'no' and then put in an arbitrary date and borough that you obtained a marriage license. The system will then let you submit the request for the marriage ceremony.
