Are the wait times still 6 months? I hope they're processing sooner now from the time I did mine. You have to give notice at the local registry office (so where you'll be living) which has to be a month in advance showing proof you've been living there for at least 7 days (proof with tenancy agreement) so take the wait time and the notice time into consideration when booking your wedding at the registry office of your choosing. It can be the one you give notice at or a different one. We personally waited until I moved there to book our registry office wedding since we already lost money the first time after the wait time changed from 3 months to 6 😪 so definitely give yourself enough time. Hi, thank you for the video. I was wondering how you go about making a notice. Do you have to wait for a long time to book it or do you book it straight away?
Call or email your local registry office of where you're living in the UK and tell them you need to make an appointment to give notice of marriage. They'll ask you when your wedding date is booked or if you don't have it booked yet that's ok too. You just need to make sure you can prove you've been living in the UK for minimum 7 days plus 28 days minimum before your booked wedding date. Hope that makes sense 😊

I think you're looking for the Marriage Visitor Visa if you're both U.S. citizens wanting to marry in the UK but not to remain in UK. Spouse visa only works for those wanting to live in the UK with their UK citizen partner.
For your Fiance visa application did you add any document like a statutory declaration to prove that you're single? I saw someone mention that on another video.
I haven't heard of that for Fiance Visa but maybe its something new they require. I just applied for Spouse Visa recently and it asked for declarations for that which needed to be printed out and signed by me and my husband for part of it. This could be something new they're requiring perhaps but I was able to download it from the application area.

Hi can i ask a question please, when you go to the interview, they will keep the passports in the registary office, or after you finish you can leave with your passport?
No slots for the marriage ceremony or to give them notice? We had an issue finding ceremony slots in our council so we had to go to the nearest city to book our wedding but we still gave notice to the council we live in by emailing them for an appointment of notice and then they called to ask a few questions and confirmed our notice time.
Is the fiancé visa the same as the family visa. I have been trying to wrack my brain around what visa I need to get as a us citizen when I go to live with my partner in the uk and im worried Ill apply for the wrong one.
Hello, Can I show an email from the landlord permitted me to live with my fiancé in the flat (the one I used on my fiancée visa application) as a proof of address when giving a marriage notice please? Kindly clarify. Thanks.
I believe they would need to see your lease agreement with your name on it, but they might accept the email. I would ask the registry office if they can accept that.
If both citizens wanting to marry in the UK aren't UK citizens, then you'd have to apply for a Marriage Visitor visa and then I believe you still would need to give notice but you'd have to check online as I'm not sure.

Does the marriage have to be registered before applying to the marriage visitor visa, or you can register it after getting the visa. Your answer will be appreciated
If it's a marriage visitor visa, I'm not sure which they require for this. Are either of you a UK citizen? If so I believe you'll still need to give notice . Not sure about registering the marriage. Check the gov.uk site or I recommend reddit UKVisa group and search for this in there 😊
They asked for bank statements of my wife and proof of income which I couldn't provide, as they supposed to he self sufficient to financially support them self in the UK
Does a fiancé coming to the UK have to be on a fiancé visa, or can the fiancé and get married arrive without need of a visa, which allows up to 6 months visit to UK? If the UK requires the sponsor to have income of £38,500 to sponsor a foreign spouse, that is beyond my means, so the future would not be living together permanently in the UK, either I move abroad or we, as has been the time up to now, spending time travelling back and forth between two countries.
@davidhowse884 Please checkout my fiance visa video ruclips.net/video/IZgRvvV6lKE/видео.htmlsi=oscUNYmVeq6k1Wts Prices for income requirement have unfortunately increased for new applicants like you mention 😪 The cheapest option is to get married in her home country then have her apply for the Spouse Visa to join you in the UK but will only work if you meet that income threshold. It's absolutely insane how high they've raised it when the average person here doesn't make that. I wish you both best of luck and to find a way that works 🩷

What if I girl is in the U.K and I am in the U.S can she give notice to a register office alone with me being there ?
For your Fiance visa application did you add any document like a statutory declaration to prove that you're single?
I saw someone mention that on another video.
I haven't heard of that for Fiance Visa but maybe its something new they require. I just applied for Spouse Visa recently and it asked for declarations for that which needed to be printed out and signed by me and my husband for part of it. This could be something new they're requiring perhaps but I was able to download it from the application area.
Hi, thank you for this helpful video. I am a Canadian and my girlfriend live in UK. I was told that I have to go my self to give a notice. Both I and her have to go to the registry office in person to give notice. I don't mind to travel but my question is do I need a visa or I can just travel with my passport because I travelled with my passport many times but with our visa and it was just for visit.
They wouldn't let us until I was approved for my visa, so I believe you would need to be on one but you can ask her to call and ask in case.
Hlo mam
after 28 days you book the appointment for the marriage ceremony or you get mail. From the home office?
You don't have to wait 28 days to book the wedding ceremony. The wedding just can't be less than 28 days from the marriage notice appointment
@@americangirlinuk how i can increase my BRP after marrige my husband has 5 year visa in uk
Hii. We gave our notice on the 13th July and still waiting for the approval. I want to ask you that how we will get to know from the home office after giving notice it will be letter or email how we will get to know
I called them I think a week after to make sure it was approved when I didn't hear from them
Hi can i ask a question please, when you go to the interview, they will keep the passports in the registary office, or after you finish you can leave with your passport?
Hi
I'm trying to giving notice to marriage
But it's showing always
No slots available
Can you help me..
I m in Hounslow council
No slots for the marriage ceremony or to give them notice? We had an issue finding ceremony slots in our council so we had to go to the nearest city to book our wedding but we still gave notice to the council we live in by emailing them for an appointment of notice and then they called to ask a few questions and confirmed our notice time.
Is the fiancé visa the same as the family visa. I have been trying to wrack my brain around what visa I need to get as a us citizen when I go to live with my partner in the uk and im worried Ill apply for the wrong one.
Fiance visa falls under one of the types of Family visas. Sorry for just seeing this ❤
Hello,
Can I show an email from the landlord permitted me to live with my fiancé in the flat (the one I used on my fiancée visa application) as a proof of address when giving a marriage notice please?
Kindly clarify. Thanks.
I believe they would need to see your lease agreement with your name on it, but they might accept the email. I would ask the registry office if they can accept that.
What about other citizens if they want to marry here legally????
If both citizens wanting to marry in the UK aren't UK citizens, then you'd have to apply for a Marriage Visitor visa and then I believe you still would need to give notice but you'd have to check online as I'm not sure.
Hi American Girl in UK, my partner is visiting me from canada & she doesn’t need visitor visa to visit me also she doesn’t have any plan to live here in UK for long period, So can we give notice period on her visit visa?
Are you planning to get married in the UK?
I want to register my marriage in Uk My partner is in uk but i am in australia so my girlfriend can book appointment before my visa to give notice?
They wouldn't let us book the appointment until I moved there with my visa. You could try though!
Does US citizens need to reside in the UK for a week prior to giving a notice?
Yes 7 days minimum with proof like tenancy agreement
@@americangirlinukif I’m staying at my fiancés place for that time, would I just need a letter from her parents saying I stayed there from a certain date?
@stevenn_htx have you moved in with her or her parents' house?
@@americangirlinukshe lives with her parents
@stevenn_htx ok so if you're living there with her parents, I think they can write a letter stating that. Call your local registry office though to make sure if that would be accepted for your appointment
I need ❤😂

I need Uk visa
Hi
Is it possible to marry a UK student girl with a French card?
Is she a UK citizen?
@@americangirlinuk no
She student visa
@@ahmedjaher8751 I don't believe so except for in her country, but you'd have to look more into that to find out.
hi madam how are you i am indian
Does the marriage have to be registered before applying to the marriage visitor visa, or you can register it after getting the visa.
Your answer will be appreciated
If it's a marriage visitor visa, I'm not sure which they require for this. Are either of you a UK citizen? If so I believe you'll still need to give notice . Not sure about registering the marriage. Check the gov.uk site or I recommend reddit UKVisa group and search for this in there 😊
Did u get answer.?
@sabbiyabanu4613 yes I got the answer, I applied for the visa which got rejected
@@waqarkhan4006 what was the reason for rejection ?
They asked for bank statements of my wife and proof of income which I couldn't provide, as they supposed to he self sufficient to financially support them self in the UK
They ask for this notice so they can charge you ££££ 😂😂
Yes unfortunately
Yes it has charged its 35 each 😅
Does a fiancé coming to the UK have to be on a fiancé visa, or can the fiancé and get married arrive without need of a visa, which allows up to 6 months visit to UK?
If the UK requires the sponsor to have income of £38,500 to sponsor a foreign spouse, that is beyond my means, so the future would not be living together permanently in the UK, either I move abroad or we, as has been the time up to now, spending time travelling back and forth between two countries.

Prices for income requirement have unfortunately increased for new applicants like you mention 😪 The cheapest option is to get married in her home country then have her apply for the Spouse Visa to join you in the UK but will only work if you meet that income threshold. It's absolutely insane how high they've raised it when the average person here doesn't make that. I wish you both best of luck and to find a way that works 🩷
