I wonder what wine, truffles, mushrooms AND comics would smell like together!? I wish they made glade plug ins that smell like old comics. Love the ghost reference btw ha ha ha
Thought i was the only one. Brings me back to my 1990s childhood. I actually accidentally mentioned it to 2 girls I know while discussing digital books and thought that they will think I’m a weirdo, but to my surprise they thought it was “cute” lmao! I go out of my way to buy trades with the matte paper and not the new glossy stuff that doesn’t smell as nice haha
Ha ha exactly! You’ll know that there are a lot of closet sniffers out there and it’s becoming seen as “normal” lol ask any reader and I’m sure they will tell you they love the smell of books. I do the same with books and I will actually wait for mass market paperback versions to come out because I like the smell better ha ha
Remember the smell of a new cassette? I miss the experience of opening a new cassette tape. Comics have the same effect for me I don't sniff em but I can smell it.
Absolutely. I took a good sniff of Uncanny X-Men #98, and thought, "That's the smell of 1976!". Doesn't get more real than that. I love comics newsprint!
That is so amazing! Smelling three thousand in such a short period. If you’re lucky the smell might rub off on you and you can smell like comics for a while 😀
Every time I buy a comic, i have to make sure the smell is in order because if the smell isn't good when I am reading it, I will have to put it away and find something else. So yes, I am a comic sniffer. Sometimes I think I like smelling them more than reading them. Is that weird!? lmao
1990 darkhorse issues and those malibu bravura comics smell so darn good, i dont know if it's the paper or the ink but I wish there was a database of this stuff
LOL! I actually got a good laugh out of this, Dante. I've never sniffed a comic in my life, even though I've collected since the late 1970's (took years off from time to time) until now. I also prefer the tactile nature of an actual comic, which is why digital will never replace the real thing for me.
Ha ha I’m surprised you never smelled them having collected for so long, but that just means you’re normal lol glad you got a good laugh out of it though ha ha
LMFAAAOO... Dude, I just picked up Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive trilogy and I loooove smelling the new books. It's the associative memory, brings you right back to your childhood memories!! Love this video. EDIT: Smelling ritual!! You dropped down the SCIENCE, B*TCH. I love this... 😆😂
@@Dante19883 It's not just the smell. When I was a kid our Dad bought us an entire "children's library" of world classics in Russian and reading books together was a culture. It taught us to treat our books with care and put them back, flip the pages properly and enjoy the book design.
Maybe I just get the crappy old boxes to look through. I smell alot of heavy smoke. Some obviously got wet and have a musty or mold type smell. It doesn't stop me from reading them though.
Its like you said, comics, old books and newspapers, they have that weird smell you can’t find anywhere else. Sniffing every page tho? You might have a problem lol
Trust me, you want an odd sniffing ritual, there's a RUclipsr who sniffs his opening card packs before reviewing them. Odd yet hilarious!
I used to love sniffing my Star Wars trading cards when I was a kid. They smelled like bubble gum. Mmmmmm...
They smell like memories to me, I love it! Thanks for the memories!
No problem! Glad you enjoyed!
I wonder what wine, truffles, mushrooms AND comics would smell like together!? I wish they made glade plug ins that smell like old comics. Love the ghost reference btw ha ha ha
I agree!!
I smell like a periodical at Elronds Library after sorting comics. The Smell of Victory and papercuts!
Exactly!! I wish I could be around so many comics that I can smell like them lol

Sniff, sniff… I’m a comic books sniffer and silver age books smell best to me😀

I like the smell of both. Old and new , for different reasons
I smell omnibuses too. They dont smell like old comics, but they do smell better than new comics.
Me too! I love the smell of omnis
i am currently grading over 3000 silver and bronze age books...and yes i do smell them.

I have always liked the aroma of Detective Comics 27: a wonderful vintage, to be sure.😉
Ha ha sadly I’ll never get the chance to smell it ha ha
@@Dante19883 You and I both.😉
Lol. I do this a lot to old comics when I bring them home,
It’s one of my favourite parts of the whole comic collecting experience lol
I agree with you.
The farting analogy was a bit .... eew...😨
Ha ha, yeah, I like to be 12 sometimes lmao

I love a good Dark horse comic

Glad you liked it Ben! It really is a ritual that just enhances the reading experience. I’m glad to hear from so many who like the smell too!!

Yeah, mold and smoke can ruin the smell, but you’re right, as along as they are readable, that is the most important things
Do you smell that Batman?
*I DO. IT SMELLS LIKE SILVER AGE!!!*
😀😀
oh,good smell.
For sure!!
Its like you said, comics, old books and newspapers, they have that weird smell you can’t find anywhere else. Sniffing every page tho? You might have a problem lol
Yes I admittedly do! 🤣
What is up with amethyst annual #1? Is it supposed to smell like lavender because my copy totally smells really strongly of flowers
I actually don’t know! I don’t have that book. I’m sure that was intentional though lol
comics is the best drug
😀
Silver age…much better smell
Yup! They do smell good!
That is the number one reason I dont grade my books!!!! :) sniff away peeps...!
Exactly! I couldn’t agree more with you lol
Old comics smell gross
Definitely not for everyone lol
I can’t believe this is real I learn this for, comic book men.
