my parents worked the night shift at city hall, took a bus home early mornings, then walked the rest od the wat home, one morning they found dozens of comic books scattered along the road, from superhereo,to cartoon character, and romance, gathered them all, brought them home to me, i was around 10, that's what got me started in comics, and i still have all those comics they found along the road.
That is wonderful way to get into comics, and to have books with such a meaning and connection to your parents. This is the kind of story that makes me appreciate what comics can mean to people.
I recall reading a post years ago, on how a collector foolishly loaded his boxed of comics on his car rood, whilst traveling down the highway and they all went off his roof, and he couldn't stop to try to gather them up. So yeah, such people's loss is another's gain, .
That's awesome man! Crazy how stuff happens like that sometimes.
😮 jaw dropped. Brave and the Bold complete run slabbed. 🤯
See. This is why I love your channel, guys. The appreciation for comics is through the roof! You dont have to own them to enjoy them. Same here!!! Love the history.
That’s probably 10s of thousands of dollars worth of books. He seemed nice! Thats a once in a lifetime situation 😊
hundreds of thousands prob close to a million or more.
It’s more than a million fmv .
@@surfcitycomics672 $50 million!
I believe in karma, and I always thought you two were the nicest comic collectors/sellers I have seen. All the nice things you do, giving out great deals. giving a free book to a kid, pulling and holding books for people, is now coming back to you as the guy gives you his raw books. Good for you.
Those Adventure Comics are just stunning...holy cow
That is an INSANE collection, lots of really hard to find keys in high grades. Many of these would on their own be the crown jewel of someone's collection and he's got them all like their infinity stones for Thanos' gauntlet.
Thank you all for sharing this man's collection absolutely amazing
Such a cool guy to share his collection this way. This is what I love about our hobby.
An extremely impressive collection! I love hearing how he started collecting as a kid and his history with his own collection. I'm an older collector myself and I've had so much fun collecting the facsimiles of several books in this video. I really enjoy being able to read them and see how much the writing and art has changed over the decades. Love the video guys!!! It's fun seeing collectors share their love and experience for the hobby.
So cool to see these longtime collectors , what an amazing collection he should feel so proud of putting that together
Its all about the number. So sad
Hah! He said he bought his first comic at a pharmacy. Me too. Fantastic Four #259 in 1983. Off the spinning rack at K&B Drugs.
haha me 2.
Me too. Bought Giant Size X-men #1 off the spinning rack. Did I just date myself?!
John Byrne?
@@T.R.R.Jolkien Yep. Cover with Dr Doom and Terrax
Doesn’t have anything crazy, proceeds to show some absolute HEAT 🔥
This is one of those rare RUclips videos which truly justifies having the label "Wait until the end." As someone who has been working on a complete B&B run for decades... damn. (bow)
To give comics out he one special man! Great video! 😊❤
Terrific video! What a great guy and an astonishing collection of high quality books.
I'm half this guys age, but my first book came from a Rite Aid pharmacy, I think a lot of folks first bought books came from those places. Great post as always guys, thanks for sharing!
Wow he had a complete run of Brave and the Bold slabbed! 😲 I must admit it’s very interesting and fun to see other people comprehensive comic collection. He reached a point he had plenty of comics to share some for free to people he felt would make good use of them. Nice to see the good side of the comic community! 👍
I loved his enthusiasm and he is just a cool comic book collector. He just loves comic books.
I don’t know why I love other ppl collections, but I do. He really has a dope collection
I watched this when it got put up, but had to come back to rewatch the collection... just wow
😮😮😮 That Brave and The Bold collection, ALL CGC!!! WOW!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen ……. Ding,Ding, Ding……. We Have a Winner!!!!
That complete Graded Run of The Brave and The Bold is Awesome!
That dude is awesome.
That table is gorgeous
The Batman books are great. I would love to just look at them.
Listening to this collector's stories I had the opportunity to buy two Amazing Fantasy #15 copies in VF condition for $500 @ in 1986 picked up from an original collection , just in a starting comic book shop that I later that year joined as a partner...and I passed ...and had the funds....oh well I bought tons of other comics at time but sold the real early silver age gems. I am glad he passed on part of his collecting joy to you .
Mind blowing! A whole B&B collection graded. Wow!!
Awesome collection!!! Thank you so much for sharing your experience.
Whole table full of grails - drooling over here.
A very cool concept to highlight these types of personal collections. Keep up the great work!
(Voxelb) my mind is having trouble comprehending the full 200 of brave and the bold Slabbed!🤯🤯🤯
Insane collection cant wait to see it
those old Batman Golden age books are amazing, would love to own those.
If he's giving the collection to you for free, then you should give it for free too!
Guy did say it was for the community.
That Conan 1 9.8 is something. Wow.
Yeah to be honest that’s my grail! Bought it on the newsstand when it came out (So I’m old). Graded it at a 5.0 years later. Been trying to trade up ever since. The best I have is a 9.0. I’ll never get lucky enough to own a 9.8!!
@@robandkrissy When I got into collecting in the late 70's, a friend of mine (that introduced me to the hobby) had a complete collection of every Conan appearance in comics and mags so this book stood out to me (in this vid). I'm just surprised that a 9.8 doesn't go for more than it does. There's one on Ebay for 6K. When I was collecting, you could get 4 Hulk 181s for the price of one equivalent grade Conan 1.
I hope you get to do more videos like this one. It was fun
Did I hear “whole run of Brave and the Bold”? 😮
That slabbed collection is beautiful.
Wow! Amazing! I'm surprised he doesn't want to sell it
Awesome video! this guy has an incredible collection! edit: my top book in his collection is the first Alfred, no hesitation
Good choice!
I really want to own some early war-time batman so dope, love that first Alfred
Those books are incredible this man's collection is something to be in awe at like holy hell 😱😱
Hey this is Paul formerly of Comic Trips from back in the day! Just wanted to stop by and say how awesome and genuine y’all are, makes me reminisce about my days doing this stuff. Keep it up, you’re refreshing to watch!
I’m guessing you have a part 2 to this? What raw books did he give you? Did you purchase any of those grails?
How can I give this 100 thumbs up. Just wow! I smiled the entire video. And when the Brave and the Bold slabbed complete collection twist dropped I started talking out loud to myself. Absolutely INSANE opportunity. I know you will try to offer something in return. SO STOKED FOR THE NEXT PART OF THIS ENDEAVOR!!
Did you take a dumb pill this morning? There is no way in hell he just gave those comics away.
@@rgi_comics My prescription is out and its the weekend. So…
That a awesome collection that cool. All the comics he had cost a lot of money.
what an ending lol
This by far craziest sickiest episode yet. Wow And wow 🙌🤘
Can't lie, it's hard to watch this and feel like I shouldn't be given a random book from the table. Gimmie gimmie gimmie. Great video to witness. Good people in the world. Very cool.
Great video. You guys inspire me to continue collecting comics and im enjoying it
That is awesome!
Such a great passionate guy and a amazing collection
The war time early batman's are the best surely they beat those over printed bronze age keys.
Great collection
Wow… just…. WOW 😮
Great Penguin cover!
I love hearing the stories especially from collectors that have been collecting for a long time. Because u get an idea of what life was like in those days. Awsome vid guys.
The ending of this video wss the shit 😂 omg 😂
Great video ! Nice collector with a great collection !
I thought I may have owned that copy of Batman #55 before but I checked the cert and it was a different copy. Still pretty ironic though because only 9 copies exist CGC graded 6.5 blue label. Page condition was OW-W on both too. Dude had some good taste I must say. Loved that cover because of the very prominent Joker drawn by the late great DICK SPRANG!
Absolutely awesome
Someone wrote “Wow and wow”. I’ll just add “and Wow”!!! Is there going to be a part 2???
Awesome collection
Im confused on what exactly was he giving up
Everything in the video or comics that were not shown
Same here there is no bloody context to the whole video.
Noooo way my gosh soooo dope.😊
Brave and the bold slabbed. Holy shit. Thats the coolest collection ive ever seen
So what exactly is he giving away? And what is the plan??
If that guy just gifted you all of those comics you guys are extremely blessed and lucky and he is an incredible human! If that happened to me the first thing I would do is hand down some of my prized books that I had before he did that to someone who is passionate about collecting but might not be able to afford it. Amazing video, that is an insane collection!
thats actually how the future generations are being raised now. no longer want to collect material possessions. but memories. hence why every1 travels or does tik tok challenges.
great guy, great vid
I'm just speechless 😮😮
He has some good books! I get so sick of seeing the same stuff sometimes. e.g. Marvel comics. Unless it's Atlas pre code horror comics that is.
All nice high grade stuff!
Perfect books to retire on!
So, did he give you any of his collection? Thanks!
Easy pal. Keep yours eyes on the road.
WOW, is all I can say !!
All right, let’s talk turkey now!!!!
Love you videos have fun today 😊😊🎉🎉
Thank you! You too!
Amazing
Mudt be near a million dollars all those comics the brave and bold included.
Wow Ruben Blades
Wow!
Definitely give him some money maybe donate to charity.
7:38...🥰
you look like QCP the shirtless italian chef lol
When did CGC change their slabing like you were mentioning?
That Conan in a 9.8 is insane
Kids are set over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....and over and over and over...
Conan 9.8!!!
wow
Anyone who uses the term "key" and locks up all of their comics in hard-plastic cases - graded by "experts" and never to be opened again - has completely missed the point of collecting/reading comics.
F*ck the CGC. And f*ck what they have done to younger, easily-influenced "collectors."
This man has to be rich to be giving these away for freely
Wow this never happens that’s amazing
Great video and amazing collection. Does he have a complete Batman run?
Not yet
@@TheComicsDen Ok well I can say again is awesome video and an amazing collection is always great to see that your channel is seen by many and that collectors trust you as a collector and as a fan of comic books.
what kind of art this collector have on his walls.... embarrassing, nice collection bold
Hi TCD
I see no modern books here.....hint hint this is where the big boys play.....myself included
A couple modern, Bat 423, 1st X23, 1st Ashoka. Overall mostly golden/ silver / some bronze
Fantastic collection but dude, you should have made clear what comics he is giving away.
If anybody is looking to get rid of comics please let me know happy to take them from you lololol
Yeah this is all great, but it doesn't change the fact that I don't own a car.....Btw, I like Turtles.
