This is a distance run testing the DJI Mavic Pro in the UK (CE mode) where the claimed distance is 4KM. Everything is stock including antenna and battery. I achieved 7.1KM out (7156m - 4.4 miles) and returned to take off location with just 12% battery at a total journey of 14.2km. Tried to keep it at 42kmph with a 4mph head wind. Distance run over farm land for safety.

How do you like this app vs DVI GO 4? i'm consdeirng buying it (Litchi? I forgot the name. right?). Think there's anygood reasons to switch? one thing I heard that I liked, is that you can set it on a warypoint mission that will complete even without remote control range. So, in essence, you could make it go a lot further, so long as you trust that it'll make it home ok with enough battery based on it's pre-set GPS cooridinates.
I was always hoping DVI GO would add a feature where if wind is preventing it from getting home, it will siwtch to sport mode to gain speed and cut through the wind. I have to do this manually, but if i lose signal and it's not on sport mode I fear it won't make it back. Curious what advantages/disadvantages you've had. Thanks for sharing
I always use Litchi when making way point missions. You can create them on their website on a PC and then they can be saved and opened through the Litchi app. Also when flying using the Litchi app I have never had any crashes so I would say its worth the money.

Very good video, well executed flight. I bought a Mavic Pro myself last week and although a lot of model aircraft and helicopter experience I don't think I would have the nerve to try that.

Well done nice range I done 5km out and back with my mavic uk version.The best thing flying out of line of sight is no one knows what you are upto someone told me are you drawing on your iPad. Lol

Did you buy your Mavic in UK or is this a US version ? In Poland even dji service don't know is there any hardware different between US and CE version.
Mine was purchased in the UK and says UK Model on the box, hardware wise I believe they are all the same, just different regions for warranty purposes. If i took mine to the US I would become FCC compliant as in Europe it is CE compliant.
I thought we were somehow limited to 4km in Europe? So is this is a bug in your version or just this limit is only connected to GPS in some areas in Europe close to cities/airports ?
rzepa10 it's not so much a limit. in CE mode the controller is not outputting as strong of a signal as it does in FCC mode. therefore DJI claim you should only get around 4km but clearly that isn't the case when you are in a good location.

Can you tell me why the video seemed so jittery especially at the end of the flight? Seemed like there was a lot of lag or someting...

Does the Litchi app you were using let you go over the 500m altitude limit the DJI app has?

I tried sport mode in dji go 4 but no result.
500m is quite alot, i'd say it's enough... at least for me, that is :)
RandomFlipper considering anything about 120m is illegal in most places 500m is plenty
there is a glitch that lets you go over 500. if you click return to home, and then take over again, it should go over 500m. i have deen a video of it

Wow that is awesome the battery is just rock solid at 4.31-4.3 volts the entire flight, idk how thats possible but if thats legit that is an amazing battery. I dont really like some of dji's business practices are the fact that many noobs buy these and are absolutely reckless with them, but for 1000 bucks there is a hell of a lot of cool engineering in that thing...thats why I broke down and am buying one to add to my multirotor collection lol.

Total flight time was 21 minutes.
Do you achieve that distance because of open fields, I have been reading alot of people only getting 2000m before red warning radio signal.

JC Entertainment don't know to be honest but would be interested to know. I'm only just starting to stretch the legs of my Mavic. Been out about a mile but then turn back lol. Been flying over water tho which is scary as fuck!
Aaron Jay yeh I've done a little water flying and I try to keep as close to the coast as possible. I don't think the 10mhz thing is important when flying in areas with very little interference. CE and FCC mode is the thing but we can't modify that at the moment. basically ce mode gives 20dbi power and fcc gives 24dbi so more power.

craig still sounds like you would be a good one to get picked up by then. I've always thought if I was in traffic jam and couldn't see why you could fly the drone to the front of the jam and see what's going on .

Thanks Bob, I used my Galaxy S7 Edge phone for this one as I could use the screen recording app. At the time I didn't have the Shield K1 only an iPad air 2.

Key is alyays fly opposit to wind . It will help the plane to fly fast and efficend while coming back home

@ 16:30 .. I saw a bird - or something flying across at about 50mph - is the video speeded up *2 ?
No the video is at normal speed. It might be a slight lag either from the video transmission signal or the screen recorder not picking up all the frames.
What kind of software is this? My DJI App looks different.

I think the Mavic 1 is a bargain now, I still use mine and have no interest in upgrading to the 2. I would say stick with DJI because the support and infrastructure for parts, accessories and information is much much higher.

Nug Graha just the standard battery, you can do mods to add additional batteries to get another 1p minutes flight time if you wanted to.
How are you able to apply audio to the video ?
In the screen recorder app it lets you select if you want to record audio for the microphone of the device as well.

Yep the drone puts itself in CE mode depending on its location. In the US it would turn to FCC mode and have a stronger signal. In a more congested area you definitely wont get 7km more like 2km but I'm sure in the same congested area if the drone could be turned to FCC mode it would go further.

you where using waypoints so it was always going to go 7km regardless if it totally lost remote connection...test needs to be done with manual flight

Well, you're wrong. In some training areas we fly in about 30 m/GND (100ft/GND). Please remain the visual contact to your drone, so you have a chance to react if there is an aircraft coming closer.

Jeanjacques Eloy as the area has very little interference from WiFi etc ce mode was fine to get this distance. In a more built up area I would be lucky to get 2km
Hi guys, I am having problem with my brand new Mavic. When I turn it on and take off, after few minutes and few meters of distance I loose the video connection and I have to land and restart the whole bird (remote, bird and APP). This happens almost every time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the DJI Go 4 APP but the problem persist. I am running the latest fw (500).
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

As of this morning I have sold my Mavic Craig. Not to say I wont get the next one that comes out but for the time being I just wasn't using it enough to justify £1000 sitting doing nothing.

How? I can barely do a 6km round trip with my Mavic...
Is that constantly moving? It depends on conditions but in low wind and not in sport mode it should easily cover 10km (if you are moving are a decent rate).
So if I were to fly the drone as far as I can, in both regular mode and sport mode, which would give me the greater range?
Benjamin Margolius definitely normal mode. sport mode will make the motors work to hard. a consistent 40kmph with little wind in a low interference area will do the trick.
The 6km round trip was in sport mode and at around 120m altitude.
That's really good then! Sport mode drains battery real quick and 120m high is quite windy.

N'th DEGREE DRONE it's basically a European mode where the controller only outputs 20db of power instead of the 26db of power it outputs in the US

Crazy Dog Games when you are in Europe you are automatically in ce mode. in America fcc mode. it works based on your GPS location and you can't change it.

Ce mode ne m'a causé aucun problème. J'obtiens toujours les 7km revendiqués et je peux obtenir 3km dans les secteurs urbains sans bruit. Vous serez très heureux.
