We were all Mexicans living in Texas and we really loved cumbia. All the guys dressed in baggy clothes and their hairstyle was really big and crazy, kinda like blow outs because jersey shore was really popular around that time as well.

“I like this one”
*points to butt*
Wow! Fantastic! Love learning about different cultures and concepts! And these individuals are visually stunning and colorful!
I really like that he gives polaroids to his subjects. It builds a sense of deeper connection with them rather than paying them up and moving on. He leaves his work behind and the subjects leave a part of themselves with him as well. It's just a very nice gesture.
“You have the butt” 😂 lmao que estoy mirando
Netflix is doing what Telemondo should've done...add subtitles 😂😂😂
I love this idea! The mobile studio, meeting locals, getting them to trust you and genuinely being interested in learning about their style. Plus the way he combined the old portrait shots with their style, it was brilliant.
these kids are awesome! diversity is key people
You may call them nacos. But at least they're not into causing trouble. Just mellow fellows so it seems.
mellow fellows who tongue fuck each others ass in the clubs and get high
Thomas J theyre fucking gangsters
wrong... 99.9999% of the time if you walk on the same street (no witnesses) you will get rob by this "colombias", "cholos" or "texas" as they call themself...
Thomas J I lived there and being that I'm Mexican but from another state it was new to me . They are nice but they do have gangs they belong to .. they would fight the enemies and usually throw rocks while chasing them out of their hoods. It's like any other gangs out here. United States just their music and way of dressing ( the girls dress alike but mostly with booty shorts and small tank tops and bandanas in their hair )
Nacos i haven't heard that in a while lol
I'm Colombian and I support this and I'm happy that people aren't ashamed of who they want to be
kinda cool seeing what it's like in Mexico... I've never been deep into Mexico and I can't wait to discover what my homeland has for me
Stefan has a great gift for collecting & photographing things that are pleasing to the human eye. Great work bro!
I absolutely adore him, and I applaud him for exposing all aspects of Mexico and their subcultures. Love it!
This is amazing and artístic in so many ways . I love it !
Great documentary
every culture have a rich way to express their very style and a way of life...
I love people who are different and don't care what other people think this is the new wave in Mexico and I repect it and the photographer who is documenting this for the future. Thanks.
I love this place Monterrey beautiful place my city
***** Ha!!!!!Got him!!!
***** stfu dumbfuck
I LOVE his photographs! He sees the beauty and art of humanity! I can't wait to have my own camera. I have always wanted to photograph people that look beautiful to me (Not necessarily beauy standards of the world).
huge inspiration for my current project. thank you!
It is true! 15:43 There was a radio station like the movie " Ya no estoy aqui"
Esta chingona la peli!
La neta si 💯💯🇲🇽
" Sonideroooo" hahaha this was dope!
How funny. Colombia used to have a huge obsession with Mexican stuff in the 80's. Now it's come full circle.
Proud to be Colombian by blood, and thank you Mexico for your support
The part where the subtitle says "inaudible" at 3:08 he says "Medellín", it's a city in Colombia.
LIVE YOUR LIFE DON'T JUDGE OTHERS FOR LIVING.
I really like the way they look. It's fresh, it's cool. Thanks for the video!
In Argentina they have the same exact thing, except they call themselves "Villeros" or "Wachiturros" they are made fun of the same way the "Cholombianos" are made fun of in Mexico.
+ngonz89 We also have a lot of those here in Perú
+ngonz89 ..sorry about Gardel crashing over here
Ms.Gonzalez89 they should be made fun of in all Latin America
RANCHOLOS...😒
I'm from Mexico city and I didn't know this was a thing
Orgulloso de ser Mexicano porque tenemos Sangre nativo americana. Soy Cora de Nayarit y purepecha de Michoacán. Arriba la gente de Anahuac
Another Mexican Hipster, claiming to represent. Who gives a shit. My ancestors were Chorotecan. So what? You are not special and your ethnicity does not define you.
Alberto Gutierrez claims to not give a shit then drops his ethnicity lmao...ok buddy. Your ethnicity is your culture and that is everything.
There are so many styles and cultures melting in Mexico I keep forgetting that it just isn’t the style and traditions of my region, there’s so much more to explore in my own country and it’s truly fascinating.
Why do they look like the male version of TLC during the early 90s with that female hair style and those plaid oversized shirts lol.
im a proud Mexican, i love my people and our country, our history and culture but this shit its an insult it has to go!!!!!
Also the pointy boots
It's not like he's documenting Mexico as a whole...he's documenting Mexico's Cholombiano Street Culture
this shit still has to go.
***** That's what I was thinking.. this cannot be Mexican style lol. Just looks over the top ridiculous and quite frankly horrendous. There's no style.. just lunacy
Agreed brother!
😲 Interesante!
So, his parents are illegals from mexico, they were poor, but, his dad was lawyer and his mom was art teacher... they got divorced and he and his mom went to Italy.... and they were poor... ???
thats the American Dream bro! xD
That could be the mexican dream, a nightmare that we live everyday
what did you mean?
That's what I thought and after that I knew he was a liar.
they didnt make the cut for Rupauls Dragrace
Zing😂😂😂
Taking lacefront glue to the next 😭
Terrific. Stefan and his assistant seem like such great guys. Humble and productive!
Very interesting documentary... Interesting fusion of music and (sub) culture... Incredible photography and a very interesting photographer... Besos desde Australia
Monkeynati culture ...
Their vibe is so beyond,
@3:35 I saw this pubic every Sunday for 6 years, on the beaches of Cartagena where my childhood passes, those who have gone know that is true, can remember the best photographer of Cartagena in the 90s
born and raised in Texas. I'm proud to be Mexican. would not have it any other way.
Me encanta con la cultura Mexicano y los gentes, especialmente Oaxaca!
I find this amazing. Its so inspiring and this guys makes art look simple but not anyone has that eye for things. Love it.
11:00 I see where Kanye got his inspiration from.
wtf, some fancy shit going on here at 7-11
Cool mini doc - but change the title. Ruiz's photos of the Cholobianos is like 2/3 of the way through the entire video!
AMAZING , but the video is too short i was expecting more(from the cholombiano part) :( also if you dont wanna get bored skip to 8:28
thanks
+renatoyutub your comment is contradicting...
