    Im on the waiting list for the rockwall. I think both knives look awesome, but the rockwall is made a few cities over and that irrationally puts it over the top for me

    • @eric21881
      @eric21881 2 года назад

      as long as you know its irrational

    Love my Waypoint, was thinking about getting a Rockwall. But, after hearing free spinning pivot and loose bearings its gonna be a pass. I'm hopping for a revision soon, seeing small companies make revisions quick brings me hope for the Rockwall.

    There’s a whisper that there’s maybe a knurled waypoint coming this summer…

    • @matusknives
      @matusknives 3 года назад +1

      That would solve the main issue I had with mine - being too slippery in hand.

    • @BobDyl
      @BobDyl 3 года назад +2

      100% - the only issue I had with the Waypoint. Too easy to bobble and the thing is razor sharp. Knurled would be great.

  • @dexter867
    @dexter867 2 года назад +1

    Agreed. Had both at the same time, but the action on the QC was much more satisfying for me. I didn't know the Rockwall had loose bearings so that's good to know as well.

    I took my quiet carry diving 3-4 times a day for a month in 3.5% salinity and I was able to make the marine grade hardware Rust!!!! But still works amazing

    My first ball bearing knife had a double row IKBS setup. There must have been 40 or 50 balls, on each side of the blade. I didn’t realize this, until I started taking it apart, and the balls started spilling out. It took over an hour to get everything back together. I sold it about a week later, and will never own another loose bearing knife.
    I’m hoping to pick up a Waypoint, in the next drop.

    I sold my TKC because I had the waypoint. The extra length + vanax won the day. That blade length to slimness ratio is just so unique.

    Bless you Bryan for this video and result. I can’t imagine a better knife for the use case than my Waypoint, and I was stressed out about whether or not I needed to buy the TT. Now I can rest Quiet.

    It’s pretty ridiculous that you penalized the Rockwall for loose bearings while QuietCarry’s warranty is basically void if you take the pocket clip off. From their site: “We are not responsible for how it goes back together again once disassembled in any way shape or form. This includes removal of one single part or a complete disassembly.” I was going to get a Drift for boat use, but I nope’d when I saw a post on Bladeforums about warranty issues.

  • @Cry42

    I like the waypoint, but it's already on the low end for length I like to carry. With the rockwall's handle being even shorter, that kind of turns me off it.

    Have you tried the Drift 2.0? I'd like a comparison to the waypoint

  • @tkindschi
    @tkindschi 3 года назад

    I like the look of both...but just have a feeling the slim designs wouldn't fill my hand the way I would like. Kind of leaning toward the QC Drift instead. (You know, if the knurled handle is available, and I can get my hands on one....)
    (Unrelated: Is the Discord thing still 'a thing'? Haven't been able to get on with the 2 week old link. Maybe because I'm new...maybe because the link is outdated?)

    I like my Waypoint but I find myself not carrying it often. I was looking for something slicey with a slim profile like the benchmade 940 and it just isn't the one for me. Spyderco Kapara has filled the gap better (for me). I absolutely love Vanax though. I hope we do see it become more common.
