I use this back technique for memory quilts. I save the backs of the shirts. I love the look and no extra fabric expense for the customer. Love all the quilt backs in this video!!
Fabulous once again Tiffany. You rocked these 3 quilts. Always a pleasure watching you create. You truly are a blessing. I too have MS and somedays I can't function well or I'm stuck in bed. Watching you helps me remember I'm truly not ever stuck and this too shall pass so I can get back to playing and creating. You definitely motivate and you are a true blessing and inspiration. Thank you times a gazillion... Lol 🌟 🏁(WE WIN, ALWAYS and AMEN)
Thanks for this fabulous idea. Backing fabric/yardage always so expensive. Brilliant to use up these endless purchases of fat quarters over the years. You’re a wonderful teacher, and explain it all so well. Love from Australia. ❤️🇦🇺
Tiffany, You are so awesome and amazing! Thank you for sharing this knowledge. I would have never thought to use squares or rectangles for the back. It is like having a reversible quilt!
Hello Tiffany. You are AMAZING!! You explain each step so thoroughly! I've only made one quilt so far and I am currently ripping out the white thread on black fabric of my second quilt. I am glad I watched this video on how to center the back and the front. I'll check out all my fat quarters to see what I have to do the second quilt's back this way. Thank you so much!!!
You’re absolutely amazing! I love your skills, patience, & dedication to sharing everything so readily. Thank you, Tiffany. Always looking forward to you🫶
I loved this episode. I have SO many fat quarters and this is a great way to use them up. Thank you so much. I have a dozen tops pieced and this is a fabulous way to get them done! ❤
Thanks! I've pieced several backs now, but only sent one to a longarmer. Great tips to make sure things come out best, I think I spent more timing piecing my last back than I did the front!
Thank you so much for this video. I made my first quilt in 1971 and I’m still learning!! I have more fabric than I’ll ever be able to use but now I have a way to use some of it up. I am really anxious to do this with my Kaffe Fassett fabrics😁
Loving this so much ❤❤❤. It would be fun to try take this one step further and do one disappearing cut version too. Thanks SO much for your math walk-thru. You are an absolute gem!
I have started to piece together my fat quarters to be used as backing for my quilts. Please remind everyone to include the seam allowance in their calculations. great video.
All the quilts are beautiful 😻!! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, it was so much appreciated and will help a lot. Thanks again for always going beyond expectations.
YEAH!!! I have lots of FQs. WON 48 at a sewing day game. Left, right center game. Now I know what I can do with some. Aso some tops that need to be finished...THANK YOU!
Thank you Tiffany for sharing this amazing idea and how to center all the fat quarters. I have tried to piece a back with fat quarters once but was totally off center lol. You are truly talented and such a great teacher. Thanks sew much ♥
Thank you Tiffany, that was so useful as I have a stack of fat quarter's I definitely need to use up. They look great. Love your style of quilting. KATHLEEN from ENGLAND
10:30 pm Thursday evening. Thank you Tiffany. I loved your demonstration for quilt backs. I’ve never thought of doing it that way.i I can’t wait to try it. Thanks for your willingness to share.
That was super interesting and very useful info. You are a great teacher. My least favorite part of quilting is making my sandwich. So helpful- picked up a few tricks...!!
This application is great. Seeing how you took the time cutting them up individually as needed was helpful. I never considered the sizing as I usually cut them up but doing this is a game changer for me as now I will finish some of my tops. I was told by a long armer if I was close I could add muslin to the out side round to get the size needed for the long armer then remove when done. but not sure how that works.
Tiffany❣❣thank you so much! For your teachings❣❣i was wondering how to centre a quilt so seams line up❣❣also do you have channel locks built in to your quilt machine! You are awesome❣💕💕💕
If you cut a 10" strip, and a 5" strip from your fat q's, you will have a strip left 2" more or less. You can get 2 layer cake squares and 4 charm squares-one big quilt? (or half jelly roll strips from the cuts) out of the strips easily. The left bits can make 2 1/2" squares, or half jelly roll strips or potato chip blocks as you want. The bigger squares can be left uncut in strips until later, or make your own pre-cuts sraight away, if you get similar lots or themes put together, you can put packs for quick baby quilts, or larger, e.g. in zip locks, to sew up later. So it is a good resource to put together quickly. Layer cakes can be cut down into multiple squares later or what you want, etc. Add a few more if you want bigger quilts, however you want it? Add a few plain fabrics to cut up if you like them as contrasts. Put a note of what is in each kit, to remind you what it's set up for? Maybe you could cut all the binding or backing to go in the pack too? Have fun and take your time. Good idea for big fabric quilts thank - you.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Wanted to try this for awhile but didn't want to mess it up! Did you design the flying geese one or is there a pattern for it. Would love to do it. Thanks
Hello Tiffany!🙋🏻♀️ Thanks for the great tutorial. Can you please share the name of the quilting app you used at the beginning of the video? Please and thank you!🙏
I don't know much about the ruler grips. I did use hot glue gun in the past. And Tracy at The Sewing Channel redid my hack in this video ruclips.net/video/yiUCyna8b10/видео.htmlsi=5Gexk_3zb5qm64Mq
EVEN IF a FQ measures 18" across at the selvage, they are OFTEN cut crooked and so you lose some width when you straighten them up. You really need to square up the FQ before you decide how big it is.
Morning..when using all these squares for the backing, do you have to be concerned at all when you do put it on the long arm? Meaning, do the seams get in the way at all? Thanks once again for showing us this !
I found myself using my finger on my phone screen trying to smooth out your quilt top 😂😂
😅😅😅😅😂😂😂
I have done that. Your not alone. 😂
Lol 😆
I use this back technique for memory quilts. I save the backs of the shirts. I love the look and no extra fabric expense for the customer.

Gmorning Tiffany thanks for sharing 😊

It's cause a longarmer wants at least 4 inches all the way around a backing. It's for pinning or clamping room.
Thank you so much for sharing 😊
Great idea!
Super helpful and as usual, well explained. I really liked the colorful stripe quilt and would love to see how to make it or where to get a pattern.
I will be hopefully starting it on the next Breakfast at Tiffany's episode.
Awesome idea..
Great info.
Thank you for sharing this it is amazing!!
Brilliant video thank you. Xx
Hiya Tiffany! Great video, thank you so much for the lesson! Did you even make a 'dent' in that dresser of FQ's??? LOL I love your choices!
Nope I hardly made a dent. 😄 🤣 😂
Great idea. Thank you. 🥰
Thank you, thank you. I also have 3 drawers of them.
Thank you, Tiffany
Love this idea thanks
I wish I had that many Fat quarters saved. You've saved my brain cells, from having to do a lot of math.
Tiffany❣❣thank you so much! For your teachings❣❣i was wondering how to centre a quilt so seams line up❣❣also do you have channel locks built in to your quilt machine! You are awesome❣💕💕💕
I don't have magnetic channel locks. I do have a plastic wheel clip lock I can add.
I actually prefer non yardage . Going to love this forsure.
😂 Now I dont feel so bad having so many UFO's after seeing your closet...

Thanks for adding those ideas 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial. Wanted to try this for awhile but didn't want to mess it up! Did you design the flying geese one or is there a pattern for it. Would love to do it. Thanks
I found the video .... thank you so much!!!
I love the pattern on number 1 quilt. Where can I buy the pattern?
That one was an off camera quilt. Here is for the other 2 ruclips.net/video/_3hX4mLNDsw/видео.htmlsi=ILwtlby6TO9e1KvO
Hello Tiffany!🙋🏻♀️
Thanks for the great tutorial. Can you please share the name of the quilting app you used at the beginning of the video? Please and thank you!🙏
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=quilting.calculators
Love the strip quilt, do you have a pattern?
Will be making the pattern soon.
Your quilts are absolutely beautiful! Did you design the striped one or is it a pattern for purchase?
I started to show how to make it in episode 22 of Breakfast at Tiffany's. I will continue with the how to make in episode 23.
My big ruler does not have grippers on material side. Could I put some on and what would you recommended?
I don't know much about the ruler grips. I did use hot glue gun in the past. And Tracy at The Sewing Channel redid my hack in this video ruclips.net/video/yiUCyna8b10/видео.htmlsi=5Gexk_3zb5qm64Mq
What is that stuff you lay out on the wall
It's just cotton batting.
Thank you so much thanks for all the tips xx
Your fat quarters are so cute! Where do you get them? I don’t have many because they usually come in bundles that I can’t afford!
I get fat quarters from many places. Some I make myself, some sent to me, some I bought at closeouts.
They sit fine on the longarm having seams both directions. Sometimes there will be sagging but I work with it.
Quick question - what were those red things called you were using on your longarm?
They are the Red Snappers for loading easily.
