  • Welcome aboard! Get ready for some spring-time trains and mainline action! Witness the transition from gray and white to budding trees and blooming flowers in Central Pennsylvania between the beginning of March and end of May. In total, you will see 11 freights and 1 local between Reading and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Oh, and a surprise C130 as a bonus too!
    Subscribe if you haven't already! Just got over 70k this week, thanks all!

    Train descriptions, including the time they appear in the video are listed below, as well as captions in the video. I wanted to try something new here, I planned on narrating this but didn't have the time, so I left the captions in place instead. Let me know what you think (criticism too!)

    Taking a look back at when NS used to be cool. Man, how things have changed...today's NS is not the NS I grew up with. The SD70M-2's, standard cab SD60s, SD60Ms, Dash 8's, and SD70Ms have all but disappeared.
    The Dash 9's are becoming harder and harder to find as most have now been rebuilt into AC44C6Ms, same goes for the standard cab SD70s which are now SD70ACCs. Even the SD60E rebuilds seem to be fewer and far between on mainline trains.
    Definitely bittersweet while watching this compilation.

    This video was very enjoyable. You got lots of trains, but also included the surroundings of flowering trees and flowers. You explained that one disused siding. Lots of details that other train videos don't include. Good stuff.

    Great video, thanks also for the knowlegeable explanations, which are sadly so rare on railroad films.

    At 10:42 that was the coolest fog ever and NS 4000’s horn made it cooler. Also, very cool video.

    One of the things I love about those K5HLL's at 4:05 is the echoing through the area.

      @@CentralPennRailProductions No problem! I usually go to Greencastle, PA since my mom was born there sometimes on break from work and such. Should venture up to near Harrisburg and Lebanon sometime!

    Great video as usual! I especially love the sound of the K5LLA on 9941 leading 10N, and the shot of 23M with 4000 because it gives off creepy vibes. Fog that thick would be perfect Halloween weather

      Thanks as always! I remember being bummed about not getting a clear shot of the 4000 (which to date I have a couple of sunny shots of it now) but once I got home and replayed the shot I realized how awesome the fog lighting was, it's probably one of my favorite video clips now!

    Hello from Cornwall. This is a truly excellent video. And in my hometown. The Lebanon stations location is one of my favorite train watching venues. In addition to suburb locations, the videography and composition are skillful. Thank you for s fine job.
    In the fog sequence, do my eyes deceive me or was the lead locomotive a NS unit in blue and grey, rather than the endless double-ugly black and black?? What’s the story? Or am I going blind?? Thanks again. CAS

    • @CentralPennRailProductions
      @CentralPennRailProductions  5 лет назад

      It's hard to see because of the fog, but it's a special Blue, Yellow & Gray scheme to commemorate the first GE rebuild Norfolk Southern made for it's AC44C6M program that converts older Dash-9's to AC traction motors, among other things. You can find better pictures online if you search NS 4000. And thanks for watching!

      Hi Again. Thank you for the information. I did check other photos and it’s a neat paint scheme. Sorry it didn’t make or to more engines. Just loathe the black on black. Fine job as always. CAS

      Probably 40 a day total, sometimes you can see 5-6 in an hour, sometimes only 1 an hour. Different times of the days are busier, usually mornings and mid-day are the busiest, then again over night.
