The glory days. How I wish I was born 10-20 years earlier. This is the kind of action one could dream for today. Gallitzin and the Slope are still awesome places even today, but still a far cry from what once was.
Great video. I live in Altoona, and it was almost seeing all the familiar locations with Conrail equipment, old signals and more. Awesome seeing the track east of AR, torn up for the DoubleStack project.
Beautiful part of the country and Conrail's Royal Sky Blue, or whatever they called it, was the most striking of the modern railroads, second, maybe, to Chessie System.
I love how con rail was unique sorry if I’m wrong but I never seen so many back engines on trains like con rail I love it I wish the could bring them back those blue machines need to ride the rails again!!

I miss those position lights already! Outstanding video!
Real nice video!! I am impressed with the sharpness of the picture considering it was from the early 1990's.
Epic video. Didn’t realize how much NS and the current state of the Pittsburgh Line could suck until I watched this

Conrail Blue set against the colorful backdrop of the Northeastern part of the Country was totally unbeatable.
Wonderful video! Loved the horns back then.
Beautifully shot!
Wonderful video. Love the scenery on the Pittsburgh line. I would love to visit that sometime in the future

Isn’t Cresson west of gallitzin? 😂
At around 2 minutes 40 seconds in, I noticed there was some track ripped out. What was that part of?

Why was the line that ran East of AR Tower to the New Portage Tunnel ripped out?
