- If anyone had watch Bee Chat on @CastleHives last night then you know I got this recipe from Jason @BohemiaBees.
The pepper medley is ground dehydrated peppers from my 2019 garden. In fact all the peppers used in this video are from 2019.
I'm not sure is it is habanero or Sugar Rush Peach hot peppers in the middle bottle. I started off making pepper jelly long before I became a beekeeper.
And the first bottle on the right is jalapeno. And of course now I noticed the misspelling.

I planted jalapenos this year. After harvesting them I dehydrated the peppers. I have a two speed bar blender that I use to grind up the peppers into a powder. Using the whole pepper doesn't release enough heat 😉. Good luck with your endeavor. You could also use cayenne pepper from you local grocery.
How did the heat and pepper flavor turn out, also the moisture content? When I use dehydrated peppers my honey moisture still tends to spike requiring further dehydration, also heat isn't as intense.
I still have pepper honey from a previous year that I am using. The one I have from this year, 1# w/ 1tsp dried jalapeño powder, isn't as hot as I would like. Since I'm not licensed to sell adulterated honey. I bring a sample jar of spiced honey to show customers the possibilities. And I bring to sell powdered dehydrated hot peppers. This past fall, I was set up next to a guy selling garlic, so I brought my fermented garlic honey to sample.
Where is the Pennsylvania Beekeeper located? My wife's sons and grandchildren are located south of Harrisburg. We are in the Canastota NY area.

Did you just put the dried pepper in or add anything else?
Just the dried pepper
in my experience. Yout wont get as much heat from the full dried pepper, you need to add a very fine ground powder to help infuse throughout the honey,
