- Today we're using the famous Mikes Hot Honey to make a mead! We got some pineapple juice and a couple of pounds of mikes hot honey and mixed it all up. This mead turned out really good and you can find the recipe card in the video. Special thanks to @DointheMost for tasting this mead!

“Maybe on pizzzzaahh” 😂😂😂
I guess I'm the odd one out. I've never thought it would be a good idea to use Hot Honey in mead. Cheerz.
I added my own cayenne pepper to my honey and it’s very similar. It seems that spices dissipate after fermentation and it will flocculate to the bottom but it is very very similar.
I used extra hot honey in a fruit cider i made. Definitely had to back sweeten, but it was so good. Nice kick.
Clearly needs some ham and a touch of brown sugar.
Thanks for the video, you did this Mike's hot honey mead 3 years ago, but I'm glad you did it with pineapple as I am going to try this asxwell.
Classic nan man mead he's always repeating
Is there a way to stabilize a mead that you already bottled. I forgot to stabilize it, and one of my bottles blew a cork out. Now I need to stabilize the other 3 bottles. They are 750ml bottles.
You will want to uncorked then pasteurize it in a water bath. Sous vide style. It will stabilize AND help in the aging process.
@christinedavis5900 I thought that would be the way to go, but I wasn't sure if it would hurt the honey profile.
Glad it turned out well! Im in the middle of a pineapple and mango hot honey mead myself. Using the hot honey from Costco. Hope it turns out as well as yours!
Interesting!
Really Appreciate Your Video , Thanks ! 🐯🤠
My pleasure!
What can you do if it is too hot?
Welp, I would backsweeten it pretty heavily!
Next time you make pineapple by itself age it for 2 weeks on golden agave barrel wood chips. Saving my last bottle for my 35th bday on the 24th. Slainté!
I made a pineapple habanero mead, split 50/50 with bloody mary mix is the bomb. Best morning camping drink of all time
Ive made BC's pepper zephyr and loved it so I am excited to make this next
I really liked this episode, i enjoyed the addition of the timeline as well
Thanks for the vid. I’ve done a few pineapple meads recently and found frozen pineapple juice concentrates have a lot less pulp than canned. A little more cost effective too.
That's super helpful!
