Found one of these with 4770s , Rx 550 4g and a 500 SSD for 80 dollars. Perfect build for my 6-year-old to play ROBLOX and Minecraft.
I'm thinking abt doing something like that but with a x97 xeon with a Rx 550 and Linux for my nephew.
@@comiumapedra5397 If you spend just a little more on the 560 or a 470 you'll be doing them a huge favor!
my younger brother was using a I5 4690S and a RX 560 it worked for quite awhile until the mobo broke and with it's age we decided to just get him a new build he is now rocking a I7 6700 and 3050
a 6 year old doesn’t need a computer
@@Rade0719 in today's world its probably a good idea to get kids to have technology like a computer early on so they are used to it and know how it works and how to use it properly by the time they grow up. Obviously its needs a bunch of parental controls so a 6 year old doesn't end up on 4chan and use the computer 7 hours a day but still, as long as you're a good parent you should probably give your kids some access to technology at an early age if you're able to.
I rescued an old PC my employer wanted to put in the trash - i7 6700, 16 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD, 360 Watt. I put in a used 80€ GTX 1650 Super and will make a 2013 Gaming PC out of it. GTA V, Assassins Creed 4 Black Flag ... it will be just nice and it cost me just 80 bucks. So with a little luck and just asking you can play decently on very cheap hardware.
I have upgraded my Lenovo M83 with a 650w PSU, 2 SSDs, 16gb DDR3, a Xeon E3-1265L v3 and an RTX 2060-Super over the years. Still holds up brilliantly with incremental upgrades.
I wouldnt say "holds up brilliantly" lmao that old haswell is screaming for mercy trying to keep up with an RTX 2060 Super.
4 cores, 8 threads with AVX2 and SSE4.1 and 4.2 is all I need for my usual workloads (gaming being the most taxing). DLSS does its job without issue, even at 1440p. I have tested it, you haven't. I wrote facts. Every tech RUclipsr backs this up unless they're sponsored.
I love how old OEM's allow for Xeon support because their cheap ass's use the same motherboard for a desktop, workstation or a server. if you buy a standalone modern Asus or MSI motherboard, it wont have Xeon support unless its specifically a "Server" motherboard and the same goes for all other brands as well.
Xeon is the GOAT for these 4th Gen builds. It's basically the i7-4770F 🔥
Ddr3 is bad for those specs
Just got done building my 1st PC in 15 years. Hadn't built one since I was 17. Then I go on RUclips and boom new toasty bros!

Imagine if it was a SCSI port?
Me too.
I worked at a landfill for years, I would take these home by the trunk full! Refresh windows, install updated drivers and sell them for $20-$25 (i3,i5 8gb-16gb ram) with hdd included, i7 machines usually went around $40-$60. Used to sell loads of these!
Crazy these get thrown out. Glad you grabbed them
Good on you for giving those a new life instead of letting them decay as e-waste.

Do NOT do this people. That card requires 400w PSU. They have a 170w PSU, Yes, it might work for a while, but the PSU can catch fire. What's more important, VIEWS or SAFETY?
There is a difference between what GPU manufacturers say you need and what you actually need.
@@ToastyBros I agree, but 170 watts is pushing it as you mentioned in the video.
Recommendation to replace PSU would of been better and safer for people. That card will probably have a 130w power draw. CPU is 60W TDP, that's without any other parts.
Yes is always safer to go with a card that doesn't require 6 pin, for PSUs like these for peace of mind.
Easy just buy a new psu and swap it out. Solution provided
tdp vs actual power draw is a whole different matters mate. And this is the s variant, which means the binning is much more towards power conservation
ive got one myself, ive got dual x5560 xeons, a 1070 ti, 6tb storage, 96 gigs of ram. it was an incredible wuild
The 960 is a real trooper of a card. I built a PC for a friend during covid and a 960 was the only card I could find anywhere and that card is still somehow going strong running cyberpunk 2077 and baldurs gate 3
Yeah I got myself a new PC about 2 months ago, my old pc was a 7th gen I7, GTX 960 4GB, 16GB ram, 1TB HDD. It ran BG3, though it was getting difficult on other titles. Tbf though it might have to do more with the slowpoke HDD than the rest of the system. Gave my old PC away to a colleague/friend for his girlfriend to use and she's very happy with my old PC :)
My dad bought me a hp prebuilt with a ryzen 3 3200g 8gb ram for school during covid I upgraded it to 16 gb ram, and a 1050 ti I only spent 140 bucks
How does the 1050ti perform?
ok that's very nice one you got, but with 140$ for a 1050ti is literally overpriced for its performance. The 2060 or even 2070 and 5700XT will be better

I got an HP last year for $140 with 8th gen i5, 1050 gpu, and 16GB ram.. Was a deal. I upgraded the stock PSU, replaced the 1TB HDD with an 480GB SSD, put in a GTX1650. It preforms pretty good for what little bit of money i put in.

i love cheap but capable builds. money is tight, and the market is flooded with old used working stuff. No reason to not be able to crank out some gaming from cobbled together bits. If you guys have a flea market or two around you, i suggest you go there for your challenge. go to separate ones with a budget and see what you can cobble together
Would love to see a PC Build with PC parts but have full latest Android running on it with 120hz capabilities.

FINALLY yesss I’ve beeeen waiting for this for soooo longgg
I’ve sent similar comments on other channels but I am still a big fan and have been watching Toasty Bros for a long time. I am writing this in hope that you can raise awareness to the tech community to watch out for scams. I have been scammed out of over $450 trying to buy a Steam Deck and want to help people not fall for such an obvious scam like I did. I'm not looking for free stuff and want to give you the full breakdown and back story of how it happened in hope that no one else will feel as stupid as I did.
I also have all evidence and pictures/ videos and receipts to prove my story
Cool story bro , nobody cares womp womp
Damn, sorry you lost a lot of money.
I'm pretty sure people know about these scams because they are very prevalent, especially in comment sections.
You can upgrade to i7 4770 cpu and get a little more performance. The gtx 960 can pull 120 watts the 2 sata connections can give 108 watts. Don't run cinebench things could get smokey or burney, or just quit if the power supply protection is right.
@@jaredmishear3630 Oh yeah!!!! I just got up coffee hasn't kicked in yet. Still gazing out into infinity. Forgot bout the slot watts. Good catch.
i picked up a 1060 6gb (strix), an as rock b330 mobo, 750 w psu and ryzen 3 1200 for 70 aud. thre in a 500 gb ssd to bring me to 100 aud and got 8gb of rip jaws memory in the wild for 30 dollars. total price being 130 aussie dollars. the pc's you can find are pretty crazy deals. if people look eery day you will find a hidden treasure
Honestly i had a 4gb 960 for almost 3 years,ram most games at 1080p and 720p,never had any issues
The GTX 960 is running a bit Toasty (in Valorant) considering the actual GPU usage. You definately want to install a exaust fan in the case (I think a 92mm fits in this). Also maybe repaste the GPU if temps rise/fall quickly.
an alternitive to the gtx 960 is the rx 470 4gb which you can regularly find for $40 and sometime like the gtx 960 30 to 35
i use a rx570 with a used ryzen 5 1600 this sistems so capable of any high reshesh eSports even apex legends
8*2 ram sticks and taking a one with higher wattage 250-300 ,maybe from hp dell ,a 1050 ti or 1650 ,it will perform great for tight budget or as a start point or even a secondary pc
this can run better than my $400 laptop

It's safer to go for a 1050ti if you have that kind of psu. It's a 960 without the external power connector and slightly more modern too which means it will receive slightly more updates than the latter. They sometimes go for the same price too so it's the better option for this kind of pc
A Sharpie on those front panel scratches will do a decent job of hiding them.
A 20pin parallel port and the one you thought was a 9 pin is a com port (old style serial)

If anyone's building a budget PC and you have a small PSU, the RX 640 OEM is $40 on ebay, has a tdp of 50watts, and is about as strong as an RX 460 with 4gb of gddr5 vram. Its also a low profile card.
Try getting a used HP 280 G1/490 G2 MT they use standard non proprietary parts.
I got an HP Z240 (I7 6700, 16gb ram, 120gb ssd, 500gb hdd) for 40 euros, and a gtx 1060 for 45 euros. All in for 85 euros! I'd say that was a banger deal!
6 months ago, you could have gotten a thinkcentre m900 tower w/ a 6th gen i5, 8 gigs ddr4, 500gb wd blue hd, and a built in win 10 license for $49 delivered...
I built a PC with this Lenovo case using a Chinese x79 motherboard and a Xeon 2650v2 processor. With this Chinese card I can use an NVMe SSD. It was necessary to buy an adapter to connect the case cables to the motherboard.
thank you toasty bros I will buy this pc
i have the exact same case with a 4790 and a 1050 and i also get a lot off stutters and chrashes

Parallel port and serial port if I remember correctly. I’m 21 but I like older tech lol
On builds like this it would be cool if you can add Classic/ Retail WoW to the tests. I think you can play up to level 20 without an account.
that INTRO was crazy
I bought a HPZ230 which already had 3.4 ghz cpu and a quadro k620. All I did was install a SSD snd OS and upgrade the ram it was good, costed $90 to.
To reduce stutters in Fortnite, lower the view distance from far to nearest, I think this is one if the most cpu-intensive setting
Also high priority setting in task manager for all quad and 6core pcs

e3 1240v3 Xeon (4770) and 16gb ram for a total of 40$ extra. Think it would really help Fortnite a lot. Great video and thanks guys! Maybe do a video on Linux install to help when Windows 10 loses support? Hate for so much hardware to go to e-waste because Microsoft wants to play hardball with consumers.
was it the ram that caused those stutters on fortnite? or the cpu?
I’m pretty sure Fortnite uses your cpu mainly so I’m pretty sure it’s the cpu cause 8gb should just be enough for fn
Rs232 serial port types so a dB9 9 pin and a parallel port or a centronic port
I'm ancient

Parallel port
I saw $17 and change shipping on that eBay page but still... Awesome deal either way
Love the $100 builds, its a great way to show just how cheap gaming can be if you search around. Would definetely love to see more videos with budgets like this (or even lower... say 75)
The paralegal port, no other use than connecting to a dot matrix printer
I know this is an old vid I'm commenting on but have you tried a Linux distro? Might free up some resources. I'm currently tinkering with an i5-2310 with 4GB of DDR3 and a GTX 950 and it runs rocket league smooth as butter in a 1080p 120hz resolution. I'll get back to you on the graphics settings.
why bro had to take gtx 960?, gtx 950 is 15% slower but tdp is 30 watt less
gpu wise, you could also go with a w5100 4gb from amd with the nimez drivers. just shy of 1050 ti perf (in the balpark of this card) and 4gb of vram, for like 20 bucks or less
$100 budgets are nonsense... Because you could have jumped this build up to a Xeon with Hyperthreading, 16GB of RAM, and an RX 580 2048SP for literally just a few dollars more. A couple extra bucks to replace sketchy PSU's would also put everybody's minds at ease. Budget builds should really start with a $150 bare minimum.

The ThinkCenters at your link are mostly going for $55-59.

this would be a great pc to give to a kid wanting to learn computers and play some basic games like minecraft
Had an old pc with a g2020. I bought an I5 2550k for 15$, an rx 480nitro+ for 65$, a psu of 600w 80 plus standard for 40$ and 8gb of ddr3 ram 1333mhz. And it plays all games because I can overclock the i5 a lot.
and its really powerful. for example Fortnite gets at least 100 to 150 fps.

legit no jokes, person that had it said a family member passed and they didn't know the value of it, but knew that I worked on PC stuff
and well after testing it everything worked fine. I did however quickly order an asus motherboard, but still if I used the asrock board
a $100 pc would be possible
I would like to see a 200$ build sometime soon Hopefully.

Db15 serial and DB25 parallel port
you should have used a rx 580 8gb variant, u can get it for around $25-60 used
I would definately go for a GTX 1050 Ti instead. First, no adapter needed, uses just 50-70W. Second, still cheap these days and performs on par with the GTX 960 4GB.
The platform/CPU itself, you can expect to use around 60-70W from the PSU total during full CPU/RAM load . So adding a 120W GTX 960, is pushing it, if the PSU only is specced for 175W on the 12V rail. But again, should handle peaks above that. And usually these OEM's has pretty decent quality PSU's (better than the "no name" trash on the budget market).
Another advantage you find with the 1050 Ti, is the ability to undervolt it simply in Afterburner, to use max 50W (still at stock clocks, and no power limit throttle). Very good option for a very low power PSU. Undervolting a Maxwell (9xx), require BIOS modding. It works, but more complicated (and risky)
Wonder what a rx 580 8gb would do in that thing
This formula as a whole is easily replicable. Snag a Dell/HP/Lenovo for $40 or less, budget $20 to add an SSD or more RAM, then spend $40 on an RX 460, Quadro (various models such as the K2200) or GTX 1050. Skip the adapters, while they benchmark fine and may run for a while, it's absolutely going to send the PSU to an early grave.
And here I thought I was the only one with a $100 gaming PC build 😢
should I upgrade my pc over time from an i3 6100 to an i7 6700 Add an GTX1050ti A new power supply 24 gb of ram
