Ever heard of Art College?!? I study Art too and, yeah, we do not really learn so much technical stuff in class, but we learn to important stuff, means we learn how to come up with good project concepts. The realisation of the Project is important too, but it s usually enough to learn the basics of a Software in class and then ask your teacher for help and Tutorial recommendations, that Help you with special Things, you need for your project. Of course, I can understand, why people think, you can learn stuff like Software by yourself, but - how I said - learning the Software ist not the hard part, learning the Skill to create good art is what you go to College for.
He's GREAT! I've struggled trying to find how to do this and that because I don't want to be a designer just need to sometimes make something easy or edit a file. I ended up frustrated, giving up must of time, and ready to throw my computer. I finally broke down and tood this whole course and it was worth it, even for my limited needs. Plus, he's awesome. I love his personality that comes out in the video.
Wish Dan was my college professor. Literally started watching seriously 6 hrs back, able to do curvature, pen, shape builder and shapes and grouping. This is achieved in a single day, what my professor from 6 months couldn't help me achieve.

I am learning Ai as an intro course in person, and this tutorial has really helped me! It's so clear and easy to understand so Thank you Dan!
Your video is 3 years old!!! BUT...still so relevant and oh so very thorough! You are an amazing teacher. I have learned so much and look forward to practicing your tips and tricks as well as watching others you recommended. Great job and thank you for this fantastic introduction to AI.
I love how there’s no catch from this vid. Total quality and learning values. This 3hr tutorial really hit different and I’m very thankful for that. Well done Envanto. 👍🏻👍🏻
I see many people are learning Illustrator in the past 4 months! I like Dan Scott's insightful tutorials. I graduated from a renowned College in the USA, paid crazy amount of money to learn about design but here I am where I actually am learning Illustrator. LOL
BEST. TUTORIAL. EVER!!! I can’t thank you enough for upload this tutorial video. Your video teaches me like everything I need, answer every questions that I have in my head and IT’S FREE. You even explain how Alt+tab works lol which is not even related to Illustrator but it shows how much you care. Again thank you a lot bro. 🙏🏻❤️
I've been working on Photoshop alone for 10 years and thought that adobe illustrator would be easy, but everything was difficult even though the user interface is practically the same. This video has helped me a lot. Thank you brother!
That feeling when you've successfully completed the Penguin. This is happen to be my first time in graphics design, it took me 2 hours to complete it with lots of replay and mistake but I'm glad I did it. Thank you for the tutorial. On to the next one.
At first I really thought that illustrators are just for those who are inherently artistic. But I decided to give it a try through this tutorial and man, I can already imagine what stuff I can do from after finishing this course. This is probably the first online course that I finished because Dan made it all easier and it seems like he's having fun while teaching the course. Thanks a lot for this!!! I hope my path of becoming a designer doesn't just end here :]!!
You know, when I looked to the duration of this tutorial I thought oh god this is too much and boring, but actually the minutes passed like seconds and enjoyed every single second of it. Kudos to you!
I am a graphic design student, and I used this tutorial to practice and gain more confidence navigating illustrator on my college break. Let me say I learned SO many useful tips and tricks through this video. Excited to go through more tutorials for both Illustrator and other Adobe programs. If you are intimidated by the length, I broke it up into like 30 min sessions for more digestability. Thank you Dan!
I have used Illustrator for many years but there are always things to learn. Your teaching style is friendly, professional and inclusive without being condescending. Nice job.
This guy and his tutorials are too much. His teaching style, voice, and transitions are AMAZING! Seriously man not a little bit flaw in these videos so professional and addicting 🧡🙌🏻
This was an absolutley phenomenal class! Daniel is an amazing teacher, very engaging and impactful lessons. I kept watching until the awkward waving session at the end - that's how good it was. Thanks for making this free!
I've been looking for videos, pages, courses to pay for, EVERYTHING. I found this gem of a video. It's simply incredible. This is the type of teacher I love. You teach me slowly and like a child. It is my most comfortable way of learning. I LOVE IT! Thank you, really, you are helping me a lot with your videos to achieve my promotions business.
I'm halfway through the course, and got to say this is the most I have learned from RUclips. Thank you so much for the course, it's helping me, and helping me fast. ❤️
After one week of struggling with Illustrator, watching short tutorials, investing time into watching this workshop and following along with the exercises was way more beneficial! Thank you for making learning easy and fun!
Ive used photoshop for years and decided to learn illustrator, its so different and confusing from a regular photoshop user. I've watched it from start to end and feel completely confident in using it, Thank you so much. Feels like a paid course! Hats off to you sir.
This is the best Adobe Illustrator tutorial I ever seen in my life. Very organize and straight to the point. So easy to understand in the ways he teaching. Very enjoyable learning experience for me.
Wow, I can't believe I just finished a 3.3-hour course on RUclips! Thank you so much for this, Dan! I was looking around for a quick introductory tutorial on Illustrator as I'm one of the Creatives members of my uni org and I really learned a lot from this! Am looking forward to learning more about Photoshop by watching your other video in the future
First of all, for those who are not finding the "Color Themes" on Adobe Illustrator, in 2021, the Adobe Color themes panel was disabled in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects. Secondly, I'd like to thank Dan for this amazing video. How can someone be so nice, patient and such an amazing teacher. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much! This course was so helpful as I've been trying to get into Graphic Designing more. These 3 hours were so calming honestly, first course I've watched ever on Adobe Illustrator and it was great. You're an amazing teacher, Dan! Thank you again! :)
This was THE best thing I have ever done. Took two days to go through the course and do the assignments, and oh my gosh, my world has literally opened up. Not an exaggeration! And, your humor is perfect 😂 Thank you for such an amazing and professional class!
Hey, Dan, I want to thank you for the awesome class you've given to us. I've learned more in 30 minutes of watching your video, than I ever had with my designer friends. So, thank you!
I was blown away by this course. Daniel has an incredible teaching style that simplifies concepts in a fun and easy way to understand. I was engaged for the entire course and couldn't wait to pick back up and resume. As a Adobe Illustrator newbie, I feel like I have the confidence and tools to start working on creative projects. Thank you, Daniel!
Yes! I couldn't agree more. I watched a couple videos from someone else before watching this and there's no comparison. He explains every little detail whereas other people just fly right through assuming you know what they're talking about. Great job Daniel!
The most amazing thing about these proffessional tutorials is that you can learn in 1 month more than people learn in graphic design colleges and other schools in 3-4 years.
Wow!!! this course was fantastic!! Dan's one of the best trainers Ive ever come across, absolute legend. Please do a part 2 (advanced illustrator course)
I feel like an expert after watching this. It's over 3 hours long but to me it was double that cos' of how engaged and practical I was. Thank you so much for this fun and detailed tutorial Dan 🙏🏼🔥
Hey there, I am an artist who has been using physical pencils and paintbrushes to create art for years. I have recently decided to convert my drawings virtually to the computer realm. I had zero experience with graphic design programs before this course and I am SO GRATEFUL for it. I really enjoyed your teachings, they are very easy to understand and fun, very helpful. Many thanks! Moving onto the photoshop tutorial next.
I've watched countless tutorials on a variety of subjects and this is one of the best RUclips educators I've ever seen. Kudos, and thank you for making great content!
Every time I do a course with this instructor, he's always such a positive spirit and explains things clearly enough that I feel comfortable following along. You can always tell when someone truly loves teaching. I've learnt so much from his courses both paid and free.

Thank you bro. I knew a average amount about adobe illustrator but really wanted to know how I can use it and be productive with it. I knew that the “be a pro in adobe illustrator in less then 10 mins” were useless so when I saw your video I knew you were the one. After watching it, I would probably recommend this video to not only beginners but people like me who needed a refresh on illustrator. Thank you for your service 🙏 🙏 🙏
Aww I did all of this in about 3-4 days and now I’m feeling emotional to leave it behind! I’m definitely feeling confident about using illustrator now though, in a way I’ve never felt before. Thank you so much for this course! Definitely checking out the other videos and the assets envato offers.
I like how you explain each button / command / shortcut keys and their respective effects. (not throwing a lot of commands and asking us to follow blindly without thinking). Your video is really helpful and fruitful for AI Newbie ! Thank you for your detail teaching :DD
Spent 6 hours completing this tutorial! I've been putting off learning AI because it seemed so daunting, but you broke it in such a simple way. You are the man, Dan! And I never laughed so much with any tutorial :)

Literally, the BEST beginner's guide to using Illustrator. I looked around at others but this one is pitched at the right level with amazing follow-along resources (free!). Dan also explains things really well in achievable bite sizes. This guy deserves a prize!
I haven't used Illustrator in years. This was a great refresher! I feel I have learned more in the past three hours than I learned in the three years I was in art school. Thank you so much!!
Last Night I completed all The course of illustrator. And Really Just amazingly I Found that, This video makes my Illustrator A Simply game....🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 love You
Finished the course in one sitting albeit taking multiple 10-30 min breaks in between as my ADHD was not allowing me to stay focused but I did it and I appreciate all the detail and extra files provided to help exercise the new information I was learning as most videos I watch skip very good fundamentals and its almost impossible to follow along with but for this course it was well put together and had plenty of info much thanks I look forward to learning a lot more advanced topics! :D
i don't think anyone would be able to sit down and do it all at once.. if you're following the examples and going back and actually doing the exercises ANYONE would have trouble or prob not benefit from trying to swallow all the info at once. I don't have ADHD and i find it difficult to sit and learn something like this for more than an hour or two at a time with small breaks. It always amazes me that people who have been diagnosed w ADHD bring it into every learning scenario even if they're not actually showing any discernible difficulties different than anyone else doing the same task. It's not your ADHD bro it's just how people's brains work. I don't have ADHD and i've been doing the course bit by bit for like a week.
3 hours watching through this course will pay off 100x trying to faff about in Illustrator for 3 hours to figure it out yourself. Thanks so much Dan! Huge help.
It was very effective and professional instruction through out this whole tutorial. Your presentation was very summarized while guiding a lot. Thank you brother.
Yeah True and I thought Adobe illustrator was hard like 👿 boss level but this made it so simple for a beginner and made this 👿into this 😄really awesome tutorial!!!!!!
I often can't even watch videos that are ten minutes long but when it comes to this man i never get bored even if the duration of the video is a century i will watch it second by second 👌 Awesome , great and so helpful.. Thank you for your effort ♡♡
This was an amazing course. I feel like Dan is my physical tutor as I learned a lot from this. Thank you for the effort you put into all your courses. Your teaching method is superb.
For beginners I assure you this is the most helpful and professional tutorial on RUclips for Adobe Illustrator so far.... I am advance LEARNER but guess what I have follow up from the beginning I have developed news cheat and tricks as well.
Hi I´m Gaston from Argentina. Even tough English is not my native language your prononciation is so perfect that I could learn from you everything I couldn´t from Spanish speakers. You are so great teaching. I had litteraly no Idea of Illustrator, only photoshop. I love How you cut straight to the point and you didn´t make me loose any second of my life. Every minute of your course is pure gold. Thank you very much
I went through this whole tutorial and I can’t express how amazingly well done it is. The pacing is perfect. He holds your hand through the entire process and yet there are times where you’ll have to explore because you can’t figure out a particular thing that was done:..A+. I would have gladly paid for this.
Truly incredible that this course is free. I have worked in Photoshop for years and was struggling to pick up Illustrator, and now I have a solid grip on it. This course was very worthwhile and Dan is an incredible instructor in this medium. Thank you for the awesome content!
This class is incredible. After about an hour of going through the first few tools, I was able to start creating designs for work that the actual design department was impressed with. My only critique is that since it's been a few years, there are features that are pretty different and some of them took quite a bit of clicking around to find the new thing / workaround. Color themes is no longer available, for example, and I was able to figure something out, but it took about an hour of googling and clicking around to find the best solution. I regularly use photoshop and lightroom so I have a base and am familiar with how these apps are structured, but a true beginner might really struggle to figure it out.
I'm struggling with filling in the color of the penguin, like where he starts off with the sheriff's badge - when I fill in the pentagon, I then cant hover over and select the star, its like its hidden behind the fill and I have to move the pentagon to select it, and then once I make the star white, if I try to move it over top of the pentagon it just sits behind it obscured. I don't understand how this works without having them on separate layers? EDIT: nvm I found out that there's sublayers under layer 1 so I was able to switch those around!
You're defintely the best design tutor ever. I really wish you had one on AE, then the beginning of my motion design journey would be complete. Thanks a lot
2hrs in and I've already learnt the key things I'll need to make my logo! I've muddled with illustrator but always found it a bit more overwhelming after Photoshop. This video really breaks everything down so simply! Thanks a lot! Learnt so many tools and their setting !
I have Adobe Illustrator 2021 and it took me 3 weeks to figure this out: if you're missing some tools like the arc and the twirl, etc there are 3 dots under the main toolbar. Click on them, then find the little menu button at the top right and choose advanced instead of basic. Incredible tutorial BTW 👏 💙 really easy to understand and follow! :D
Oh my gosh thank you! I thought I would've quit halfway through the course but you kept addressing possible issues and made it so easy to follow along. I'll definitely recommend you to my classmates and remember you when I become successful
I greatly appreciate it. As I've been wanting to get more into graphic design, this course has been quite useful. This was the first lesson I've ever taken in Adobe Illustrator, and those three hours were really soothing. Dan, you're a fantastic instructor! Again, I'm grateful.
I just finished the entire course, and I can't thank you enough, Dan! You truly did an outstanding job. Your teaching style is easily one of the best I've ever encountered-clear, practical, and infused with a fun, engaging attitude that makes learning such a pleasure. I learned so much, and it’s all thanks to your exceptional instruction. Your guidance made what felt like an overwhelming task-aggregating, editing, and sharing figures for my PhD thesis-a breeze, even though I started with zero knowledge of Illustrator. I'm incredibly grateful for all the knowledge you've imparted. Thank you again for everything!
I am feeling guilty for always looking for something for free. But I am really grateful for this. Thank you so much. I hope you will be rewarded in some way with your consideration, generosity and kindness of sharing your knowledge and talent to all us amateurs. Thanks again!
I cant even survive watching a 5-minute music video on youtube but I watched 3+ hours of this! Very well executed and content was succinct! Thanks Dan et. al.

An amazing tutorial. This is the best example of how a tutorial needs to be like. Simple, clean and to the point.... Thanks for comming up with this tutorial.
I wanted to wait until I got all the way through to leave a comment. All I have to say is wow. I was very intimidated by Illustrator and finally just dove into it. I'm so grateful I found this course. Dan is one of the best teachers I've ever learned from and I feel like I learned so much in this course. Not to mention...he keeps it extremely fun!
As a beginner to Adobe Illustrator, I think you did a fantastic job at introducing the tools necessary to create beautiful, creative and modern designs. Thank you.

he is the most humble teacher I've ever seen. I got emotional at the end of this video ❤
Oh dear, I LOVE THIS CHANNEL. Totally Recommended this to my friends.
Your video is 3 years old!!! BUT...still so relevant and oh so very thorough! You are an amazing teacher. I have learned so much and look forward to practicing your tips and tricks as well as watching others you recommended. Great job and thank you for this fantastic introduction to AI.
Wow, thank you!
I love how there’s no catch from this vid. Total quality and learning values. This 3hr tutorial really hit different and I’m very thankful for that. Well done Envanto. 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good luck!
You know, when I looked to the duration of this tutorial I thought oh god this is too much and boring, but actually the minutes passed like seconds and enjoyed every single second of it.
Kudos to you!
Ya i'm also think like this first, but most nice lessons
Same with his PS course, never knew i could learn all that in a day 😅
I am a graphic design student, and I used this tutorial to practice and gain more confidence navigating illustrator on my college break.
Nice job.
Thank you very much!
Thanks a lot, Dan. You are literally imparting 15 years of knowledge and we can't appreciate it enough.
I'm halfway through the course, and got to say this is the most I have learned from RUclips. Thank you so much for the course, it's helping me, and helping me fast. ❤️
Totally agreed ..
Are you some kind of a holy person or something? thank you for everything you've done.
Couldn't agree more!
Yeeeesss😭 I am graduating soon and need to learn illustrator dispite taking a full class. I cant wait to learn from this.
but if you wanna get a degree certificate u should learn for 3-4 years
phenomenal teaching. this is one of the best courses i have ever seen for any software, hands down.
Wow!!! this course was fantastic!!
Moving onto the photoshop tutorial next.
same!!
I also have been doing painting on canvases & clothes,I also want to learn this art on ipad,I hope I will learn this through this channel
Wow, thank you!
need help!!!
I tried to draw a reqtangle like shown in the video, but when i do it's stil empty with out the fill color and the stroke color that i have chosen. please help me understand what i'm doing wrong.it's at 13:28 minute in the video.
Just finished this, did not take long but learned A LOT, Dan you kept my attention and that is a technique on its own, great video man.
Aww I did all of this in about 3-4 days and now I’m feeling emotional to leave it behind! I’m definitely feeling confident about using illustrator now though, in a way I’ve never felt before. Thank you so much for this course! Definitely checking out the other videos and the assets envato offers.
I'm actually ending this with a feeling that I'm gonna miss him like we are gonna miss friends and teachers in graduation.
Btw Thanks a lot
I like how you explain each button / command / shortcut keys and their respective effects. (not throwing a lot of commands and asking us to follow blindly without thinking). Your video is really helpful and fruitful for AI Newbie ! Thank you for your detail teaching :DD
Spent 6 hours completing this tutorial! I've been putting off learning AI because it seemed so daunting, but you broke it in such a simple way. You are the man, Dan! And I never laughed so much with any tutorial :)
I'm about 40 mins in and really enjoying the tutorial. Great pacing and clarity for me - a beginner. Thanks.

appreciated man
Will someone, please hire this Tech Wampus! He/she is an absolute life-saver 🙏
Literally, the BEST beginner's guide to using Illustrator. I looked around at others but this one is pitched at the right level with amazing follow-along resources (free!). Dan also explains things really well in achievable bite sizes. This guy deserves a prize!
Wow, thanks!
I haven't used Illustrator in years. This was a great refresher! I feel I have learned more in the past three hours than I learned in the three years I was in art school. Thank you so much!!
Last Night I completed all The course of illustrator. And Really Just amazingly I Found that, This video makes my Illustrator A Simply game....🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
love You
Finished the course in one sitting albeit taking multiple 10-30 min breaks in between as my ADHD was not allowing me to stay focused but I did it and I appreciate all the detail and extra files provided to help exercise the new information I was learning as most videos I watch skip very good fundamentals and its almost impossible to follow along with but for this course it was well put together and had plenty of info much thanks I look forward to learning a lot more advanced topics! :D
Where did you get the app please
i don't think anyone would be able to sit down and do it all at once.. if you're following the examples and going back and actually doing the exercises ANYONE would have trouble or prob not benefit from trying to swallow all the info at once.
Huge help.
Dan, you're the best teacher I've ever seen online! Thank you so much for these courses!
Can you suggest from where to download adobe illustrator
@@AyushSingh-vs4xn A free trial is available on Adobe's website.
This course makes me feel like a professional. Not gonna lie. Thanks for this video✊🏾
It was very effective and professional instruction through out this whole tutorial. Your presentation was very summarized while guiding a lot. Thank you brother.
You're awesome man. No gibberish and well thought out examples to get us to understand the tools and their use case. Many thanks!
Yeah True and I thought Adobe illustrator was hard like 👿 boss level but this made it so simple for a beginner and made this 👿into this 😄really awesome tutorial!!!!!!
I often can't even watch videos that are ten minutes long but when it comes to this man i never get bored even if the duration of the video is a century i will watch it second by second 👌
Awesome , great and so helpful.. Thank you for your effort ♡♡
Glad you enjoy it!
This was an amazing course. I feel like Dan is my physical tutor as I learned a lot from this. Thank you for the effort you put into all your courses. Your teaching method is superb.
Glad it was helpful!
WTF is that name? looks like a secret tribe
For beginners I assure you this is the most helpful and professional tutorial on RUclips for Adobe Illustrator so far.... I am advance LEARNER but guess what I have follow up from the beginning I have developed news cheat and tricks as well.
Do I have to know how to draw to be good at using illustrator.
Hey how can I learn to be advanced
Hi I´m Gaston from Argentina. Even tough English is not my native language your prononciation is so perfect that I could learn from you everything I couldn´t from Spanish speakers. You are so great teaching. I had litteraly no Idea of Illustrator, only photoshop. I love How you cut straight to the point and you didn´t make me loose any second of my life. Every minute of your course is pure gold. Thank you very much
Dan is an amazing instructor, I'm so thankful I found his courses!
I went through this whole tutorial and I can’t express how amazingly well done it is. The pacing is perfect. He holds your hand through the entire process and yet there are times where you’ll have to explore because you can’t figure out a particular thing that was done:..A+. I would have gladly paid for this.
You took your time to help others learn a valuable skill. I appreciate your effort. Thank you.
Truly incredible that this course is free. I have worked in Photoshop for years and was struggling to pick up Illustrator, and now I have a solid grip on it. This course was very worthwhile and Dan is an incredible instructor in this medium. Thank you for the awesome content!
You're very welcome!
Please where do h download the app
I'm struggling with filling in the color of the penguin, like where he starts off with the sheriff's badge - when I fill in the pentagon, I then cant hover over and select the star, its like its hidden behind the fill and I have to move the pentagon to select it, and then once I make the star white, if I try to move it over top of the pentagon it just sits behind it obscured. I don't understand how this works without having them on separate layers?
EDIT: nvm I found out that there's sublayers under layer 1 so I was able to switch those around!
For someone who had never used Illustrator before, this was so amazingly helpful!
THANKS
thanks bro
Oh my gosh thank you! I thought I would've quit halfway through the course but you kept addressing possible issues and made it so easy to follow along.
I'll definitely recommend you to my classmates and remember you when I become successful
I greatly appreciate it. As I've been wanting to get more into graphic design, this course has been quite useful. This was the first lesson I've ever taken in Adobe Illustrator, and those three hours were really soothing. Dan, you're a fantastic instructor! Again, I'm grateful.
Great to hear!
FOSS ftw!!
I cant even survive watching a 5-minute music video on youtube but I watched 3+ hours of this! Very well executed and content was succinct! Thanks Dan et. al.
Not lying, this is the best course I've ever watched in my entire life . Thank you so much for teaching me Adobe illustrator in such a short time. This was great.😁
This is the best tutorial I have ever watched on youtube. Not just for illustrator but for all the " youtube tutorials" out there. This is premium level teaching. Thank you so much Dan. You're an excellent teacher.
Wow, thanks!
I've gone three of your classes. i'm pretty exited to learn illustrator here...thanks a lot daniel. You are a very good teacher and excellent tutorial. I'm happy :D

You are a awesome teacher, I will see you in the Photoshop for beginners video.
Cheers!
Hello Dan for some unknown reasons my properties panel is not opening and it is neither working please help me fix this issue
This was the best thing ever. FInished the whole thing along with the homework within 3 days. It was sooo amazing !
As a beginner to Adobe Illustrator, I think you did a fantastic job at introducing the tools necessary to create beautiful, creative and modern designs. Thank you.
Hi Dan, I just finished your course! Thank you so much for explaining the basics in such an informative and entertaining way. Really appreciate your teaching style and the time you've put into it. All the best, Anthony
