He's GREAT! I've struggled trying to find how to do this and that because I don't want to be a designer just need to sometimes make something easy or edit a file. I ended up frustrated, giving up must of time, and ready to throw my computer. I finally broke down and tood this whole course and it was worth it, even for my limited needs. Plus, he's awesome. I love his personality that comes out in the video.

For any one who cannot find the arc tool in their toolbar:
    1. Click on the ellipse at the bottom of your toolbar
    2. You'll see a window containing all your tools
    3. You'll find the arc tool there
    4. You can drag and drop it to your Shape tools collection for future use

i don't think anyone would be able to sit down and do it all at once.. if you're following the examples and going back and actually doing the exercises ANYONE would have trouble or prob not benefit from trying to swallow all the info at once. I don't have ADHD and i find it difficult to sit and learn something like this for more than an hour or two at a time with small breaks. It always amazes me that people who have been diagnosed w ADHD bring it into every learning scenario even if they're not actually showing any discernible difficulties different than anyone else doing the same task. It's not your ADHD bro it's just how people's brains work. I don't have ADHD and i've been doing the course bit by bit for like a week.

This class is incredible. After about an hour of going through the first few tools, I was able to start creating designs for work that the actual design department was impressed with. My only critique is that since it's been a few years, there are features that are pretty different and some of them took quite a bit of clicking around to find the new thing / workaround. Color themes is no longer available, for example, and I was able to figure something out, but it took about an hour of googling and clicking around to find the best solution. I regularly use photoshop and lightroom so I have a base and am familiar with how these apps are structured, but a true beginner might really struggle to figure it out.

I'm struggling with filling in the color of the penguin, like where he starts off with the sheriff's badge - when I fill in the pentagon, I then cant hover over and select the star, its like its hidden behind the fill and I have to move the pentagon to select it, and then once I make the star white, if I try to move it over top of the pentagon it just sits behind it obscured. I don't understand how this works without having them on separate layers?
EDIT: nvm I found out that there's sublayers under layer 1 so I was able to switch those around!

I Have spent my entire day watching these videos. They are FANTASTIC! I start school in 2 weeks to go for a graphic design degree. Ive watched so many other videos of these adobe apps and have struggled to understand alot of whats going on, but you sir are a great teacher. Already watched the inDesign course as well as this one and i went into the inDesign course not even knowing what the software was used for. Now i feel like i could confidently go into it and create layouts. Great job sir, thank you for your contribution. 👌🏻

Brilliant course, even 3 years old! Came in with lots of familiarity with photoshop and inkscape and wanted a good overview of illustrator before wasting time playing around with finding my tools. This fit the bill perfectly! Thanks for highlighting things that Illustrator does uniquely well, too. Awesome.

Great Course Dan. Totally appreciate it. I have both Adobe Photoshop and illustrator and I was mostly confused when to use what since they both had similar capabilities but after taking your course, I am more hooked onto illustrator and I also loved the section towards the end on image tracing where you used Photoshop and illustrator. This course is well deserved for special recognition. Thank you for your kindness for sharing the course for free

I made a big mistake placing myself in the a graphic design class with unwelcoming environment, which made me hate designing lesson. It took me 20 years to be frightened by the designed files even just open and look. Thank you Dan, I enjoy my three days learning and practising so much. I already feel missing you with you last piece of sharing. The only challenge, I found was the M logo creation. I could not paint the fill color to one of the rectangulars. Thanks for your generous sharing and professional coaching arts. Cheer
