You did wonderfully. It is gorgeous. There is a rule in quilting. It is called the galloping horse rule. If it can not be seen as you go by on a galloping horse, you do not worry about it. People see our work as a whole. After awhile even you will not be able to find anything you had considered wrong. Enjoy wear it. I love my wardrobe of jackets and vests.
This is beautiful! I have an old quilt that might just have to be cut up. And… regarding mistakes… a knitting teacher told me once if you make a mistake in a garment, just walk fast when you wear it! Perfect!
Congrats on having the guts to cut into a vintage quilt! I just recently made a vest out of two large quilted pillow shams that I bought from a thrift store for $3 ea. It turned out very good...even added two pockets. Keep it up!
Must admit I thought you were bonkers to cut up something so old but what a gem of a jacket. It’s beautiful. What a good idea binding the seams yes have to take back my thoughts well done. Was there enough left to make a child one with the leftovers?
Gorgeous. I have one to complete too. The hem modifications softened the appearance of the design. The shorter length gives it a youthful appearance. Fantastic tutorial.
So lovely!!! I am truly inspired! Reminds me I have a quilt feint a friend gave me years ago with hand embroidered butterflies. It is in a pillowcase in the bottom of a fabric tub. I love that there is sentimental love in your jacket! I subscribed! You have talent!❤
I'm new here! I also am sewing this jacket! Your video was beneficial to me. Tomorrow I will be doing my sleeves and pockets. It truly is a great pattern and you nailed it. The more I think about it, I may redo my neckpiece. Mine is thick and doesn't seem to lay right. We will see. Thanks for the video.
Thank you :). I really loved sewing this pattern, I even made one for my friend. Good luck with your coat, I hope you love yours as much as I love mine.
Hi...new subscriber here 🤗. It turned out so beautiful ❤. I've been putting this project aside for the same reasons....lol but your video was a great tutorial.
Thank you, if you wanted make a quilt coat using the same pattern, the pattern designer actually has very in depth, super detailed step by step video instructions here on youtube, each step has a different video. You can check out her channel here if you are interested www.youtube.com/@laraehandmade
A very good jacket, and a good way of showing it more to others. I just thought it was a tax short in length, but you might like it that short. And perhaps the opening in the pockets should have been from the side seems, easier to put your hands in, and eliminate the kind of akward angle of your hands. But I just applaud your braveness.
After watching hibg your video I purchased this Larae pattern for the coast coat. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to cut and tape this pattern out. Is there anyone that can help me?

That first cut would be soooooo hard.
It really was!
I agree! I even struggle with cutting into my favorite fabrics!!

I would recommend putting into the RUclips search bar “how to tape together paper sewing patterns”. There are a lot of video tutorials.
I have a quilt my aunt made for me but ONE END was burned in a fire. So...i will make the pattern with other material first... 😂
😂❤
