It doesn’t mean the south doesn’t know how to handle snow and ice, it’s that it rarely happens so therefore we don’t have the equipment as the places who deal with it every winter. Love the fabric you used for your jacket. Very pretty.
the fabric you picked out is perfect for that jacket, and I love those candles. I just sewed a top out of a skirt and it turned out great , I got a free pattern at DYI Daisy blog. it was so easy. We have alot of snow and ice here in the North. So Happy Valentines Day, I hope you have fun.
Incredible jacket!! I think my favorite design feature is the pieced/quilted sleeve😍 and those distressed vintage leather buttons were a perfect fit. The deep warm tones really compliment the rosey hues in the quilted fabric.
Haya. Loving your quilted jacket 💙 Seeeeew pretty. Your cozy sweaters are super lovely, especially with the pearls on them all 💙Candle painting is great fun 😀Thanku 'sew' much for sharing 🪡✂🧵🙂Ana. x
That jacket looks perfect. The shorter size, the buttons and the warm lining you repurposed. I think I have to watch Emma now to see what everyone is talking about. Thanks so much for sharing.
Lauren thanks the jacket is very cute. I wonder if you would go through the process of how you did the lining. I had to line a jacket with no lining pattern or steps to follow. I managed to do it but it was really hard. The Jacket is more of a dress jacket with woven fabric and the lining was also woven. I didn't allow for ease or give in the back of the lining so now I have to cut the lining in the back and add a panel to add some give. Whew. Anyway you are such a meticulous sewist and I like everything you do. Thanks
The fabric on the jacket and I LOVE the candles Lauren!!! So. Adorable. And also, yes on the Emma 2020. I’m seriously wanting my house to look like that whole movie. 😂
Totally loved your finished jacket!!!💝💝I made a quilted jacket a couple years back from my Grams old antique blanket. Those painted candles are so super pretty!!!😍😍
I love your jacket! I think the juxtaposition of the leather buttons with the sweet print is just perfect. I've never seen painted candles before. I think I'll do this with my girls as a craft for Valentine's Day:)
I love your jacket. Where did you say you got your fabric? Also, what kind of sewing machine do you have and age? You asked what we have been working on . . . I am working on making some new PJ's and nightgowns. It's a lot of fun and a way to use up some of my stash!
I love the jacket, and it looks great the shorter length you chose. I'm baffled though about why you lined it, when it had the original floral lining to go with the pockets and cuffs, now they don't match anything as you covered it? You could have just put a pink or white or even floral seam binding over the raw edges inside, which tidies it all up. I know it's warmer now, but I liked the floral internals...Great jacket though, and I love the collar

Definitely! I feel like we get a good snow every two years where I live so not something we plan for every year!

The jacket looks very cozy, where is your sweater in the first part of the video from?
Thank you so much! That sweater is actually vintage- I ordered it from Imparfait Paris, and they have a lot of beautiful vintage sweaters!
