How Vader will DESTROY Kenobi Now

  • In Obi-Wan Kenobi, we are about to get a massive duel with Vader against his former master, Obi-Wan. I think it is going to be insane and go completely opposite to how he (Kenobi) thinks it will. Seeking redemption for Anakin, Kenobi will try to redeem him now that he knows he’s alive. I think Vader has other plans…

Whilst I didn't like the Grand Inquisitor getting a lightsaber to the chest I think from a story point it will give Vader a reason to step in and would also give us a reason to go to the Inquisitor base. I can't lie, I hope reva gets killed by either the Grand Inquisitor when he's healed or Vader kills her for her disobedience

I love how Ewan has actually said in interviews that he was legitimately terrified when he was first in a scene with Hayden in the Vader suit because he's so imposing. I hope he portrays that fear in the show. Lucasfilm have done an awesome job of making Vader appear terrifying to others, especially Jedi, in Rebels, Rogue One and Fallen Order - this show has to be the pinnacle of that.

I think obi wan will try to bring Anakin back, as vader says to Luke " Obi wan once thought as you do", in revenge of the sith Obi wan just wanted to destroy the sith, so it implies that at some point Obi wan will think the same way as Luke in ep. VI and will try that Ankin come with him, but will fail and vader will show him that all its left is anger,as Obi wan says " He is more a machine now", so clearly he will fail, and realise that Anakin is dead and that's what he tell Luke, because he really thought Anakin was dead after the duel that will happen in this show. yeah i think Qui Gon will teach Obi wan the imortality path and will give hope to Obi wan. In ep. iV we see a confident, powerfull Obi wan far away from this version, so the next 10 years will make obi wan one of the most powerful jedi ever lived.

That's a very good point. I never realized it with that line in ROTJ. I wonder what Vader meant in ANH by saying "When *I left you* I was but the *learner*, now I am the master." Vader didn't left him on Mustafar, it was the other way around. Maybe he meant the fact he left Kenobi for Sidious? But Anakin was no longer his padawan at that point, they became "brothers" in Clone Wars 2003 (no longer canon but I think it still fits in canon). So I think Vader was talking about something that will be shown in Kenobi series. Maybe Vader will learn something from Obi-Wan? Idk.

I think mentioning Padme’s last words to Kenobi to Vader would be perfect for that. If that fails, that would better convince Kenobi as to why Anakin couldn’t be redeemed after that and to better match up with that ROTJ line. It would need to fail since it would remind Vader of the awful things he did to save her and it being all for nothing since she died because of him. Then there’s how he wouldn’t be able to let go off the hatred he has for Kenobi.

There's no way Vader will just let him leave without having to use his powers to defend himself and escape. Luke cut himself off from the Force, but then was able to reconnect. I've said it in a previous video. Vader loses for me, hence the line "when I met you I was but the learner, now I am the master". That is referring to himself as a Sith Lord. He is not referring to himself as Anakin, because Anakin was not a Padawon at that point.
Alternatively, Obi Wan will try to rescue him, that is a given. Vader to Luke "Obi Wan, once thought as you do" That was on the Death Star when Luke wanted to turn him back.
So one of two things will happen:
    1. Obi Wan beats him, Vader is full of rage as he has not mastered the ways of the Sith (Machine limitations etc)
    2. Vader is still not fully evil at this point, feels weakness and allows Obi Wan to escape. He vows to never let the light surface again in the future. Hence, he was the learner and that good in him surfaced, just like it did for Luke.

Disney comes in and starts stomping immediately. One piece of canon after another. Things that people loved about the story gets changed easily to this and that with seemingly little thought or skill applied to the writing. That is probably why people are so apprehensive to them monkeying around in G-Canon so much ( because they, Disney, don't care about canon (no matter the IP)).

Kenobi has to realize that dealing with Vader is now Luke’s destiny. Obi-Wan will hopefully realize (maybe through Qui-Gon) that the way to possibly turn or defeat Vader is through Luke.

What would be even crazier is if Ahsoka was the one that had to train Kenobi in duel wielding blades, but that would probably be too much.

The only thing that I don’t like about this rematch between is that we know Vader cannot seriously harm Kenobi in their fight even if he wins because we know from A New Hope that Obi Wan somehow escapes the fight pretty much intact. This means that Vader can’t cut off any of Obi-Wan’s limbs, disfigure him in any major way, or even kill Kenobi cause then that will contradict canon. So it feels like to me the fight won’t have as much stakes as there would be if A New Hope didn’t exist.

It kinda reminds me of in Thor: Ragnarok where Hulk is on the brink of killing Thor and then Thor sees Odin and then is able to tap into a higher strength and generate lightning without Mjolnir.

I also understood Anickens story character arc. I could relate to the clone wars and parts of EP3 as I spent the last 23 years in the USMC. During my down time on ship I would read the books. It took me about 8 years to read them all just in time for the re-release of the OG saga and the prequels. I felt I had a lot of knowledge on SW in my brain housing group. I also played all the games. I found my self explaining the prequals to my friends who were casual fans ie. fans that only watch the movies. Right now I'm starting to read the novels that came out after the Disney perches. Anyway I was hoping to get your take on the SW Skeleton Crew coming out next year with Judd Law. Obi Wan had known for 10 years Anakin’s Sith name was Darth Vader. He didn’t need Reva to say it. Palpatine calls him Lord Vader in the security footage and Yoda also mentions “The boy you trained, gone he is. Consumed by Darth Vader.” It’s highly unlikely he ever forgot that. So why is everyone mentioning this like somehow he didn’t know or forgot? Reva isn’t telling him things he didn’t know besides Vader’s survival. Somehow in the ten years, Obi Wan totally cut himself off not just from the force but from news. Vader made headlines, even if just through idle rumor. So his shock is just from Vader’s survival. I really didn’t get why the writers had to explain to the audience Vader and Anakin are one in the same.

Who sees all that and thinks that the person would survive at all much less long enough to travel back to the medical bay and get all that work done, Obi-Wan never thought he survived, hence the fear and shock in his face hearing the Vader name again.

If you listen to her lines, I don’t think she is EXPLAINING that they are the same person. In fact, she is using both names interchangeably to display that she knows who Vader really is, which is a bit of info that most people in the galaxy don’t know. She might even be doing that to purposefully stoke emotions in Obi-Wan.
Reva seems to be a past Jedi padawan, from the intro scene of Order 66 in the first episode of Kenobi. This is probably why she is described as “the least of us” and coming from the gutter. No doubt she had to live on the streets as an orphan, perhaps in the lower levels, after the temple was attacked and occupied. This is a rough life and she probably had to do some unsavory things to survive, a fact that made her more susceptible to turning to the dark side. But this also means she has personal experience and knowledge of both Kenobi and Skywalker, if perhaps only from a distance. Actually, this is could be true for many Inquisitors, since they often were former Jedi.
It will be interesting to see which way the writers take this thread.
Edit: she seems to be a past Jedi youngling, not a padawan.

Ahsoka already did that in her fight with Vader so it'll be kinda redundant but interesting if done well. Maybe it could happen but I don't think he'll be able to reach Anakin because he'll lose badly if Vader resurfaces plus he'll maybe just have to retreat. I don't think The Grand Inquisitor is dead just from a lightsaber to the abdomen. Rupert Friend is great as The Grand Inquisitor but Moses Ingram as Reva is ok but it seems that she's trying too hard to seem like an intimidating psychopath. I really hope Kenobi is defeated by The Inquisitors in a fight due to being rusty because of inactivity as a Jedi. I mean NOBODY HATES STAR WARS LIKE STAR WARS FANS 🤣. I really appreciate this reaction content from Star Wars Theory. I hope people don't complain about Obi Wan not using his lightsaber much because of course he wouldn't he was in hiding after Order 66. I hope the next 4 episodes of The Obi Wan series shows how Obi Wan aged so fast because of Tattooine's double red suns, desert climate and constant fighting, hiding and stress from avoiding The Empire while dealing with Jabba The Hutt's mercenaries, Tusken Raiders, bounty hunters, Stormtroopers and watching over young Luke Skywalker, Owen and Beru . In the new episodes of the Obi Wan series I want to see Obi Wan communicating with Qui Gon Jinn about that Force Ghost training and his run ins with the Sand People, young Luke Skywalker, Owen and Beru and even The Empire at times plus other Jedi, Sith, Force users and bounty hunters if possible. I always thought it was strange how Darth Maul could come back but not Mace Windu when Maul survived something extremely fatal while Windu definitely could've survived falling out a window after getting his hand cut off and blasted by Palpatine's Force lightning. I'm still catching up as I haven't watched all of The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian or any of Disney Star Wars things since Rise of Skywalker but I'll check them out soon. Seeing Luke Skywalker and Ashoka training Grogu and the next generation of Jedi is a dream come true of what I wanted The Disney Sequel Trilogy to be about now we'll never get that with The Original Trilogy cast. This has nothing to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

I'm sure he's some degree stronger in the force and less rusty, but he has many disadvantages going in that Obi-Wan can exploit to squeeze out a W. He's done this so many times with the odds stacked against him and has still come out on top. I think facing Vader again will actually favor obi-wan because it will help with his confidence and restore his faith in the force, leading him to become the Old Ben capable of beating Maul quite easily and training Luke to be capable of defeating his father.

Yoda and Kenobi failed to defeat the Sith. That’s the whole point of Luke being “a new hope”. If Obi Wan was capable of defeating Vader he wouldn’t bother training Luke to fight Vader he’d just finish the job himself.
Vader is supposed to be unstoppable. Kenobi will get his butt kicked in their first fight, then probably outsmart him somehow and escape in their second fight.

This is the quote from ANH that I keep wrestling with. If this quote referred to RotS, then it makes sense. But if there was a subsequent duel (which we are expecting to see in Kenobi) and Kenobi gets battered, I don't see how this quote makes sense.

Someone pointed out that it would be cool if Anakin/Vader heard Qui-Gon to stop him from striking Kenobi down.
I think that would be a good idea and wanted to add that it would be very cool if we get that brief moment of Vader almost turning back (like when he looked at Ahsoka in Rebels), but then he hears Ahsoka say she's leaving the order, Padme's screams and one of Obi-Wans lines from their Mustafar Battle which fuels his anger again. It would probably end with Vader thinking Kenobi is dead.
Love the show so far - I'm sure they won't disappoint in the finale. :)

  • @TheGregane

My theory is that just when Vader is ready to kill Obi-Wan, the force ghost of Qui-Gon is going to show up and verbally will keep Vader at bay while Kenobi flees away. Remember, a force ghost is something really new to anyone in the galaxy, even for Vader.
But as I’m typing this, I remember it would probably brake cannon kinda… Because when in the new hope Obi says that “i will be more powerful” etc. etc. then Vader should’ve known what he’s talking about… anyways, this would look cool. I think if Vader would see Qui-Gon, that would bring back Anakin for a brief moment for sure.

I loved the episode I enjoyed it! At the end though I would have had Vader walk through the fire with his lightsabre ignited just about to finish Obi Wan, then right at the last second Qui Gon Screams "ANAKIN!" and Vader falls backwards stunned after hearing the voice of his old master and mutters while trembling "Qui Gon?". Vader would be looking for a force ghost of Qui Gon too distracted to finish off Kenobi and while Vader is looking for Qui Gon, Tala would shoot at Vader forcing him to deflect the shots and suddenly Vader remembers, "Kenobi!" He ignites his lightsabre already remembering where Kenobi's body was raises his lightsabre in the air slashes it down AND... Nothing - Kenobi escaped while Vader got distracted. Vader looks around in panic and screams "KENOBI!!"

I think Vader will crush him physically, emotionally and mentally. I think he will leave him like Obi-wan left him on Mustafar. I think Vader will believe he has killed him in spirit and Obi-wan is so little a threat I don't believe Vader will care if he lives through it. It might be interesting if Reva interrupts the duel and Vader kills her.

People make Vader out to be more sadistic and less controlled and sophisticated than he really is. He kills Jedi, he doesn't torture them. Unless he needs answers. I predict the conversation between Luke and Vader on the Endor moon platform is the plot for this mini series. When Vader replies to Luke asking vader to come with him, vader says, “Obi wan once thought as you did, you don’t know the power of the dark side, I must obey his Master”,,, then he will proceed to beat up on Obi then Reva will come to rescue and vader will kill reva. They may explain how the emperor is keeping him alive through the suit. As you said, Obi will confront vader to try and convert him back and vader will absolutely crush him, making him waste away on Tatooine being the frail weak version of Obi wan we see in new hope

I think Obiwan and Vader meeting before Episode IV will actually better explain Obiwan’s lack of surprise meeting Vader on the Death Star. I think in order for the line in ANH to work, kenobe will have to have defeated him again at least once. That way when Vader says 'when I left you I was but the learner' it would mean he was still learning to be a sith when they last fought. But in ANH he would have completed his sith training to master.

Same theory I had, pretty much, and why I do think it would make sense for them to have another fight between Eps III and IV.
In ROTJ, Vader says to Luke "Obi-Wan once thought as you do" when Luke was trying to turn him back. Yet in ROTS, Obi-Wan had pretty much accepted that Anakin was too far gone, and went to Mustafar ready to kill him.
It makes sense that Obi-Wan would find out he's still alive, feel immense guilt, and then go to try to turn him back, only to discover he's "more machine than man now; twisted and evil."
That being said... the only logical conclusion would be for Obi-Wan to lose, or at least come damn near to it and then either escaping or faking his death.

I do think Obi Wan will try to reason with Vader, try and see if he can bring Anakin back and write the wrongs on Mustafar, but Vader WILL hesitate, if only briefly. Remember that in Rebels, for a few seconds, it seeming like Ashoka had almost gotted through to Anakin after she damaged his mask. Obi Wan has a looot more history with Anakin so I see no reason why he couldn't pry into the Anakin underneath just very briefly. Maybe they even have a bit of a subdued back-and-forth before they fight, similar to Luke and Vader's conversation on Endor in Return of the Jedi. Obi Wan will tearfully apologize for failing him, leaving him to die and for all the suffering Anakin and the entire galaxy has endured because of his failures as a teacher and a friend. Vader will stand there, looking away for a moment, before coldly declaring "Anakin Skywalker is dead. You killed him on Mustafar." or something along those lines. They fight, and while Obi Wan is severely outmatched maybe he gets in a few lucky hits that reveal just how little of Anakin's organic body is left, explaining why Obi Wan tells Luke "He's more machine now than man."

Well technically anakin still is the chosen one because in the last movie he does indeed defeat the dark side by turning on sidious at the end, so the prophecy wasn’t wrong it just didn’t go the way everyone thought it would.
I also can’t wait the see vader like genuinely pissed off with the suit on and in that voice. I mean during a second dual with obi-wan it would be awesome to see. Plus I like the fact that they’re actually showing vader without his suit and with all his injuries.
It just hypes up vader as a character in general, plus this is vader in his peak, he’ll never be as powerful later on as he is in the obi-wan series which makes this series that much better.
