Just watching your videos provides so much instruction….especially when to set the hook. Watching your patience when the first tell tale sign of a grouper take then waiting until the rod loads up proper certainly gave me and I am sure many with much valued information. I am only new to your channel but I know I will not be straying away in a hurry. Thanks for sharing.
Great video as always, Alex! I learn a lot from you, watching your videos over and over, reading the water you fish, watching where you cast etc. You have definitely made me a better more mobile rock hopper. Many thanks, Alex!
Nice to see the Live Fibre and Alvey still doing the job Alex 👌 I bet that combo has caught you many fish and has survived plenty of knocks and dunks in the salt over the years. Great catch mate 👍. Another great vid. 🍻
Blue groper are my favorite cold water fish and the Alvey is definitely the way to go when fishing for them. Usually the further the walk in the better the groper fishing.
Hi Jeoff Yep one of my favourites as well. That can be the case with a lot of spots especially in Sydney. You may need to walk a long distance to get a positive result.
@@AlexBellissimo Most of my rock fishing was on the South Coast in the Jervis Bay area. The fishing there is still good and groper are still common but I don't trust my old legs climbing down those cliffs like I used to.
Great stuff Alex, you’re an inspiration mate and by the way. The addition of the lapel mic has made a huge difference in the sound quality of your videos. Thanks for another fantastic video.
Yes one of his vids he was making all these aaarrr aaar noises i came in the door and thought my boys were watching porn i bolted into their room to find them watching alex
Cracking vid Alex, and a few very nice fish. You first location was a good example of how inexperienced rock Fisho’s can come undone. To the untrained eye it looked in the most benign and flat (lull) but like when were back-peddling prior to hooking up the first fish, the swell/surge appears from nowhere. Inexperienced blokes could/do get caught out like that with at times ending in tragic circumstances. Seen that you were on the crab 🦀bait, what were you berlying up with. Keep the vids coming mate - great viewing
Love these informative vids Alex What sort of depth of water do you usually look for with grouper I think I know why iam not catching any , iam fishing to deep water You can see the sand and rock bottom in the video Do you need white water or can you fish the flattest of seas with no swell ?? Cheers Alex keep them coming
So I posted up a comment for your viewers to have a chance to own an Alvey ( seeing as you can’t buy them anymore ) and it was taken down. Didnt expect anything less.
Hey Luke No unfortunately it does not have a model no. t was given to me as a prototype rod to try out but that never eventuated It was never part of the Willson range. It appears to be a 15 to 24kg.
@@AlexBellissimo Yep no worries Mate. I was just curious if it was build on one of the currently available Wilson High Modulus Carbon Composite Blanks. All good. I appreciate the reply. Thanks again👍

Thanks for mentioning you liked the vid. Regarding the depth you will certainly catch them in deeper water as much as shallower. You don't necessary need white water like the majority of other rock species. Thanks again

This live fibre has caught a lot of fish. Pity it is not a two piece but love this rod 👏
Hi Alex, Can we please have more Alvey fishing videos. I am still using my 650 star drag that I got when I was 15 back in '83.
I will in the foreseeable future mate love my Alvey's ❤️

I still have my Alvey 700! Working perfectly just in case you ask! 🙂
Haha well I was not going to ask but that's awesome. Probably in better nick than mine 😁🙌
@@AlexBellissimo Alveys in bad nick still perform! It is the fisherman that makes it work. Thanks for your reply. 🙂
Hi Alex, great episode, mate. I've got a question: What size Alvey is that mate?
Hi Neap
The Alvey is 700B size. 7in
Thanks for watching cheers

Hi Alex, which knot do you use to connect between main line and leader?
Hi Ryan
If I am using a leader it will be an Albright join. Most of the time I tie straight to the main line with an Alvey reel.
@@AlexBellissimo thanks for your reply 😁
The only time I make that roar when passing a Anaconda. 🐊
hahaha its a bit weird but i just get revved up 😂
