- G'day Legends, this week I get the sand between my toes and get back to my roots fishing some surf gutters for bread and butter species. Beach fishing is something I used to do a lot of as a kid so, to get the Alvey back in action was a real treat. There is also a bit of rock fishing and beach worming thrown in there for good luck as well! Hope you enjoy the video and get inspired to hit the beach for a cast!

Love the beach Sammy , taking the Garry Howard Breambo 4W and the Alvey 500B for a session to DI this weekend. I`m hoping the government don`t stop us as I think beach fishing is a great way to isolate.

Not basic mate. Fishing off the back of a boat is basic. This is an art.
My surf out fit is a Diawa surf edge 12 Ft with a penn slammer 3 - in 4.5
Its sacrilege to fillet Bream. The wings, cheeks and crispy fins and tail, when fired, are just delicious.

More land base fishing would be great, love fishing but caught bugger all in my 50 odd years, just spent over a grand on fishing gear recently after selling all my late brothers boat gear, spent lots that at BCF, now my kids are grown and have lives of their own it's time for me to chill and learn this great hobby/sport, but i'm land bound and get down the south coast when i can, so would love all the hints i can get, lol.

Hi I do a lot of beach fishing I've caught a 40 cm bream and some big Australian salmon on Stockton Beach
Last beach fish i did ended up few bream and a couple stingrays lol

You should have 15kg line out with one of those dart on it as a live bait as the big mulloways love them off the beach.

@@SammyHitzkeFishing in all the old alvey DVDS they always say why the bloody hell would you set the hook when using an alvey your using a rod 10-13 feet for bait fishing off the beach and they arnt desinged for hook sets where you jerk the rod back thus taking up slack and jamming the hook in all your doing most of the time is misjudging the timing and pulling the bait or lure away from the fish 6-9 feet and a bream in the surf wouldnt have a clue where its gone with the 1:1 gear ration on the alvey that are 6 inch and bigger two winds of the handle retrives 1 meter per turn of handle. more then enough to smack a good bream or tailor as long as your using quality line and hooks

Why not use circle hooks then put your rods in holders. Crank up another rod and do some spinning? Best of both worlds and you wouldn't have all those missed sets that you did. You'd end up with a lot more fish.
