Super happy for you, Alex! Well deserved! Many fishermen would have rushed the last part but you kept your cool, devised a plan, stuck to it and washed the 'brute' out!
Nice fish mate, and ya went home if a good feed. Gotta love the “last cast”. I’ve caught some of my best fish on the last cast, and the 4 or five casts after that 😊
Massive pig alex crazy good fish legend should if u want come down ulladulla for a weekend and ill take you fishing at some big blue and monster pig secret spots of mine
Hi Alex. Thanks for the videos. I try and get around some luderick and pigs here on the mid north coast whenever I can. Hat head is one of my favourite fishing grounds. I’m still using centrepins, alveys and fibreglass rods. They’ve always done the job but am keen to try some lighter outfits. What are your thoughts on the “over there” 109MH you’re using in this clip. It looks the goods.. Anyway, all the best and keep the videos coming.
As you may already know I love my Alveys. I am a sponsored angler so I promote the excellent Daiwa range of gear. The Over The 109MH is a great rod, super light and strong.
Thanks. I live in Tokyo and in a few weeks time I’m going to have a crack at these northern hemisphere pigs. Thanks to your videos I’ll be totally sorted.
Mate that is just a gorgeous fish, excellent work getting it in considering the conditions and shallow water. Love this video even more as this terrain is exactly what I usually fish. I've been having a few problems with bust offs from too light drag yet also seem sometimes to pull hooks on fish near the end of the fight after going hard which is quite frustrating after seeing some mammoth fish pop off at my feet. Just wondering what you recommend in this situation or is it really up to what's happening in the fight? anyways, love your work man and congrats on letting that big girl go, cheers
What a weapon of a pig, well done! He almost got ya too 😂 Went out chasing my usual blackies yesterday in a new location and got stomped by multiple drummer! Considering a heavier rod, would you think a MT6144 rod would be good? (I prefer the fibreglass and alvey combos) Cheers mate and again WELL DONE!
Haha yeah I think a lot of people do not realise the size of rust pig Hopefully it is still swimming around. Yes a MT 6144 is a great pig rod. I used to use them for me any years.
Stonker pig Al ! Just goes to show that if you can bear the elements you can still catch fish ! Btw i noticed you prefer the type of pfd that kayakers use - never liked the inflatable type for the stones personally and was wondering what your thoughts on this subject are - considering your vast experience and knowledge i think that if someone is going to go rock fishing they should have the best advice from the right person .
my apologies forn the late reply Thanks for wathching mate much appreciated I prefer to avoid the inflatiables especially for my client trips. I want a life jacket that does not meed to inflate. sorry the short answer

nice fish to bad we dont have them in wa
I think you have a WA version although I don't know how big they get 🤔
Alex what bait did you use for the monster pig?
Did you use a ball sinker to the hook?
the big pig was on a prawn bait ad yes sinker sliding to the hook rig
Thanks. I live in Tokyo and in a few weeks time I’m going to have a crack at these northern hemisphere pigs. Thanks to your videos I’ll be totally sorted.
Hey Alex are you able to catch a lot of drum in the summer ? Or is it best to wait till winter ?
hey there
rock blackfish aka black drummer can be readily caught in the summer months in Sydney even though a lot of anglers think otherwise

When you are floating off the rocks how deep do you need it to be
That can vary Average dept is 2 to 3 m
Too big to eat? Great catch.
Yes it was Carol an old fish besides better to release so it keeps breeding. 👌
