    From ocean to the kitchen - nothing better in my books! Loved the finer details with the cunje, baiting up and adjusting the sinker weight! Fine tuning to suit the conditions is what gets the fish. Big like from me, Ricky and congrats of reaching the 10 K sub milestone - well deserved!

    Hello Sticky. Just a shout out and thanks. I followed your advice on catching drummer on cunje and peeled prawn berleyed up with soaked bread. 15lb mono straight through to small ball and no.2 suicide. Only difference, I used a 12’ Shimano Raider and Baitrunner 6000 OC. Caught four 29cm and one 30cm drummer in two hours. Great fun. Released the 29s of course. Thanks.

    A couple of things stand in my way of trying your recipe. Firstly, I have no fish. That could change tomorrow. Secondly, my wife prefers to cook fish whole with skin on & not fried. I have 2 solutions. I catch 2 fish tomorrow & cook them as we prefer. Looks delicious!

    I’ve got a few old school Alvey 500a’s spooled up with 6/9/12lb. I’ve also got a new style 500 (Adventurer) like yours spooled with 7kg. I find the Adventurer a bit of a hassle to use, Alvey changed the design on the back of the base plate to include a Y bracket/brace made of stainless steel with 3 whopping great stainless bolts/rivets that protrude a long way out. These have a habit of catching my line if I’m not paying attention.

    • @stickyfishyfishing
      @stickyfishyfishing  2 года назад

      Yeah I have a 500a and the new one haven't had that problem yet but only use it a few times mate but both good reels cheers 🤟

    Didn't quite figure it out but did your Alvey have a drag? Do you prefer Alveys with a drag over the direct wind style for drummer fishing? One of the nicest fish to eat the old Drummer.
