- Beach fishing at port stephens using beach worms as bait
last 3 hours off run out tide last 3 hours of light .
TACKLE I USED IN VIDEO
ROD - shimano power surf 1202L 4-7kg
REEL - shimano DL 4000FA baitrunner
LINE - 10lb daiwa j - thread nylon
HOOK - size 4 mustad fine worm hook
SWIVEL - instincts size 3 rolling swivel
SINKER size 1 star sinker
BAIT - beach worms

Good session sticky. I use a couple of pillies in a stocking. Once thier up i let them start to have a chew. I then come from behind their head about a cm down. Happy days.

Great work Sticky. Never mind the small fish, awesome to see the return of blue skies and no smoke for a change. Maybe you can show us some worming techniques when you master it.

@@stickyfishyfishing You used to be able to buy pliers at the tackle shop that were specifically for worming. Grabbed em every time and didnt bust the head off. Ask at the tackle shop. cheers.
@@victorbitter583 yeah i got some pilies for worming i was chopping the heads off with them i found my fingers easier but my nephew likes the piles but iam only learning so will try them again cheers 👍
The hard part is resisting the urge to pull until the worm has relaxed its muscles, once they do it’s just one smooth motion pulling until they’re out, they say the best way is to let the worm bite on to your finger before grasping it but ain’t no way I’m letting those ugly fuckers bite me 🤣

Just wondering sticky if it might be a good idea to move to another gutter when your getting only pickers, surprising no whiteing were landed. Beach worms great bait sadly I still haven’t pulled any out of the sand yet , broke a few off but that’s about it. Frustrating I know that much but fun at the same time. 👍
Hi yeah good to try a few different gutters but wasn't that many on the beach at the time and the tide was going low so i was fishing the best one i was hoping the fish move in to that spot but didn't happen yeah worms are alot harder to catch then it looks lol 😂

I prefer 2/0 circle hooks. You can catch much bigger fish as well as whiting and little fish can't swallow the hook up to the hilt. Much easier to take the fish off.
Why didn`t you fish the incoming tide or did you have to leave early
I just went down for couple hours before dark and the tide was running out wasn't the best tide but good way to kill some time 👍
just spent 800 on a live fiber rod and a 175 size vann staal VR reel forchasing kingies on stick baits and such once the conditions in sydney calm down 10 foot waves at clovelly beach early this morning
