One of the best pedals on my board. A stereo version would be even better, with the modulation pot on the outside!
Thanks for blowing my ears out with secret fuzz mode
I bought one today, utterly amazing pedal for a bass too. Thanks folks.
these geeky, more in-depth videos are awesome.
I’m happy this video exists. I recently acquired one as a B stock item and running it into a Walrus Audio Slöer. There was just way too much modulation going on running them both. I rewatched Andy (Andy Demos) and learned about the modulation trimpot. I got under the hood and turned it all the way off and now I am making music fit for heaven itself! This makes me happy. 😊
I wish every pedal had cool secrets like this
Ive had this pedal for a year now, loved it, then it just lost its mojo... I went back to my DD3, and this was just on the board as a placemat for another pedal.... BUT now, its back baby.!! The mods have put this back to how it was when I first got it.
P.S your new pedals are amazing, loving your work.
I have the Echorec and it is truly an amazing pedal. Thanks for showing us how to use the pots and switch under the hood, even though I'll probably leave mine as is :-)
Been using mine a week and absolutely love it. PS The last echo box I had was Watkins Copycat, this is way better, congrats on a maintenance free echo !
Great demo! I may try the fuzz mode!
You came up with some cool stuff mate, thanks for your efforts
+Blindfold Knobs Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the explanation man. That's awesome.
I am using it for Synths, processing now an Arturia Minibrute, sounds perfect and give to the synth some vintage warmness, excellent pedal
Nice video and many thanks to you Catalinbread - this is by far the best delay I've ever used. On the down side (sort of) it tends to kill every other delay I've tried since. Nothing compares to it.
You prefer it to the boss re 20 pedal?
Have you tried the other Binson Echorec clones?
There's two other pedals that I'm aware of
Loving that secret fuzz mode but I just wish the spike in Volume wasn't so high :(
Get a limiter
You guys make some amazing pedals!.. I want you to know that if it wasn't for "Tommy's Guitar Shop" in Everett WA just north of Seattle I would of never had or discovered you guys so fast years ago when your stuff just stared to hit the market!...
Robert Wallace Thanks for supporting us all these years!
I bought this today... Im stocked, like a little kid on Christmas! What a pedal...
Awesome videos
Just ordered this pedal, can't wait to play with it!
I got mine 3 weeks ago and am still discovering it and feel like my playing has been injected with new energy and imagination. How do you like it?
@@2010njdevil. It's one of my favorite delays. Stunning deep tone. It's an always on pedal with leads. The next pedal will be the Belle Epoch.
2:00 buffer/bypass 5:41 Gain Mode 7:20 Modulation
Excellent product
So glad this was made, thanks guys.
IcyBluesOfDeath Glad this was helpful! :)
I second that! I was looking around for videos of suggestions on whether or not it could be used as just the preamp section of the Binson, like so many did with the Echoplex, and found this!! How effin awesome is that!!?! I'm out of town, and don't have my Echorec pedal w/me, so that's why I was searching videos instead of twisting knobs. If I had been with the pedal I would've never looked up this video!! Life is mysterious. Now I just can't wait to get home and add some gain to that oh so perfect delay you guys created. I have the opportunity to try out most pedals for a few days or so, that are released. I can honestly say that Catalinbread are the masters of delay. The Echorec is the most useful delay IMO, along with the Carbon Copy. I know, it's an mxr, but you have to admit, it's a great all around analog delay. Cheers, and keep them coming, if there's anything left to capture in Pedal form, that you haven't done!
That was cool. Thanks.
“Secret fuzz mode”…. Compadre it made me jump from my seat 🤣🤣🤣 Did not expected it!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Awesome!!
Great! thank you!
Love my Echorec!
The demo of the sabbra cadabra lead me to this video, I had no idea these were under the bonnet.
This pedal is a must have. In position #1 it's a single head delay with up to 1 second of delay. Add in the other heads swell and tone control (not to mention the secret settings) and the possibilities are limitless. It's not just for Pink Floyd music.
It's unreal with drum machines
Warning: 6:33 turn your speaker/headphone volume down.
Got square wave?
too late
Too late, welcome tinnytus
Very nice pedal. Any talk of adding a tap tempo option?
YOUR PEDALS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!......I OWN THE SABBRA CADABRA AND THE GALILEO ll......KILLER
what are the approximate default settings for the gain and modulation trim pots if you want to go back to those?
Hello, i ve a problem about that. after i changed buff to truebypass , then when echorec is on it works clearly but when i make it off , there is no sound on my amp. So when it is off , it doesn't pass my guitar signal to amp. What can i do about this problem?
Access holes in the baseplate so the internal controls can be reached?
Ha! I have that same ikea lamp on my pedal building workbench.
will the gain pot effect my tone at all in buffered bypass?
I have kind of a funny question, Jimmy Page used an Echorec on both When the Levee Breaks and Kashmir on the bass drum. Is there a way to mimic what he had going on using this?
It's really a secret ! I didn't know this ! I already got one. Iit's one of the coolest delay pedal.
Can i run it at 12v for slightly more headroom than 9v but slightly less than 18v?
What are the default settings it comes with?.. I’m hoping buffered repeats, mid -no fuzz and a speck of modulation
No video explains the difference between settings 1 (one repeat) and 12 (4 repeats)? Is it only when swell is down all the way
I love secret fuzz. :-)
How about a video on tweaking the Dirty Little Secret MKIII??.. I have herd that turning the trim pot to the left is more Treble and turning it to the right is less Treble??.. Btw.. No other pedal nails the marshall sound and feel like the DL MKIII..... Amazing Period!...
never leaves the board!
Do a SUNN MODEL T TUBE PEDAL.PLEASE.
Thinking of getting the Echorec. Does the Echorec and Belle Epoch have the same pre amp? I always use the preamp of my Belle Epoch (Trails mode) If both units are in trails mode, would that create a problem?
feel free to contact out customer service, erksin@catalinbread.com
I wish there was some sort of adjustable highpass filter
Will any future versions have a tap tempo, or an external tap option?
And stereo
Hey Catalinbread what would the 18 volt usage do for me? Would it make the effect better or any noticeable difference.
Did you ever get the answer to that?.. is it still on your board?
ur delays will be much cleaner and wont sound as driven
due to the higher headroom with the higher voltage
hey I ordered an echorec , I want to order the power supply , could someone tell me what make and model do I need to order & where can I order a power supply ?
A regulated 9vDC/center-negative tipped adapter is specified for our products.
A few of our pedals can be run at 18vDC and will say so right on the pedal - they also require a regulated center-negative tipped adapter. These are pretty common power supplies and most likely is offered at your local music store :)
Thanks for your comment and enjoy your new Echorec!!
...Was it the Katzen?
How can I remove gain trim? I like this pedal but i hate when delay changing my original sound from my amp. I want to play riffs with delay and my sound. If i go with gain trim Up its louder and still isnt gain like my amp. Same reverb cloak. I need to find solution. For boost or fuzz i have pedals i dont need IT in delay. Useless gain trim in this pedal. You need to still unscrew box i dont like it. Can you help me ?
If you remove the gain trim, you won’t get any signal to the pedal. What exactly do you want to do? It’s unclear from your comment.
You mentioned not wanting boost and fuzz to go through your delay. If that’s the case, perhaps look into the Electro-Harmonix Tri Parallel Mixer. It provides three separate signal loops, allowing you to assign effects independently of others. Check out videos for it on RUclips. They’ll better explain how it works.
Radio Shack?
What is that tool called (and where can you get it)he uses to put it into fuzz mode I need one of those?
screwdriver (small)
@@122554 lol. if he doesnt know screwdriver how can he even work with an effect pedal smh
And what inspired the secret Fuzz mode? Was it something that was possible with an original Echorec?
+FallaciousScotsman the original Echorec does have a tube preamp, so I'm assuming when you crank the shit out of it, it will reach a similar tone.
Echorec Deluxe? :)
Jordan Dedo Belle epoch is too noisy
We need an echorec deluxe (with noise gate)
With tap tempo pls m8
Howard you scared the shit out of me. You owe me some underwear :D
FUCK YEAH HOWARD
6:34 JESUS CHRIST THAT SCARED ME
same lol
For the love of god could we get these controls on the outside pls.
For a V2 pls true by pass, tap tempo and less noise
WARNING radio shack is closed :(
But their screwdrivers keep on turnin
No room for batteries with all of this tone! lol.
you're messing with bad medicine there chief.
When did Jackie Chan grow long hair and start engineering pedals!!??
Probably around the same time that you thought your cutesy YT comments were funny,... Never, that's when.
