I am actually quite amazed at how you have eradicated the all too common choppiness that even accomplished musicians often have, with this piece. Your iteration of this etude is absolutely beautiful, ValentinaLisitsa. Brava to you! :-)
I also was very positive about her when i discovered her playing but trying to learn from her technique i discovered she trimmed half the inner notes in Op 10 n 2 to suit her high wrist technique, this is flagrant caught on caméra if you play the video x0.25 with the score as reference. Next i realized she uses the same high wrist technique and touch on almost all etudes when Chopin was known for having over 30 difference technique to strike a key. Studying these studies myself i realized it's not possible to play all note with her high wrist technique and she must be trimming notes in other etudes too to suit her technique instead of learning a more diverse technique. She is not the only one doing this but to stay honest you cannot admire her fluidity when she drops notes out to achieve it.
I esp. like the sensitivity and flexibility applied to this piece. Her marvelous technique serves this music so well-so playful in the contrast of touch between the hands!
Lisitsa is pretty relaxed playing this one. Throughout the piece her hands fly high above the keyboard. She wouldn't let that happen if she wasn't comfortable with the phrases she was playing. While the studies might be difficult for many, Valentina Lisitsa makes them look easy.
@@everteanderse9074 chill bro. we can be a better community than the other hobbies on youtube... errr... no wait. probly cant... just look at the comments... ugh... piano players are shit people I guess.
One thing about Valentina Lisitsa that never ceases to amaze me is how she looks so in touch with the music yet how she shows NONE of that in her playing.
Not true ! She s trimming notes in many etudes to suit her high wrist technique. Caught in the act, score as reference and playing video at 0.25 x speed. Example of this Op 10 n 2 (flagrant).
I don't know if these are the same recordings we hear her play on the radio.... I have to confess... I Like her LIVE versions better... Isn't this how she came to FAME... BY posting ALL 24 Chopin etudes LIVE... she really is SOMETHING astonishing... IN many regards...
@NewRachmaninoff Essentially spot on! I almost totally agree with that ordering. Would place Op. 10 no. 5 a bit earlier in that ranking (and probably before op. 10 no. 3, which is technically accessible but tough from an interpretative point of view). Also 100% with you on the 2 toughest nuts in the Chopin Etude collection: op. 10 no. 2, op. 25 no. 6 (my body shivers just thinking of ever playing those two monuments).
If You like it, please listen to Chopin's impression on this etude performed by Leszek Mozdzer: Leszek Możdżer - Impressions on Chopin: Etude op. 25 no. 4.
I'm going to play this one and a few more etudes for tomorrow's exam. hell of a left arm. sounds slow, but left hands movement is ... if there was burning coal on the keyboard.
@ClassicMusicOnly I think too, there are better peerformances, but I have to add, that among all the Chopin etude-performers, Valentina is my favourite
this wonderful pianist should get the best piano which is available and the best ingeneer of sound.... to get out the most of quality..... she is great
Damn...upon hearing this I was like, "Is this an Art Tatum etude or something"? Lol...it sounds almost EXACTLY like Art Tatum's rendition of "How High The Moon"; ruclips.net/video/vxH8qwef898/видео.htmlm5s . Can't get my head off that swing! Looks like the jazz players borrowed from the Poet of the Piano, after all.
She looks so happy.
This piece makes you happier
lol that was my first thought when i clicked on the video ive seen her smile while playing before, but not like that lmao
"finally the easy one" is almost certainly what she was thinking
This is lovely! Even though it's a minor key etude with all those chords, it sounds so relaxed
Like other genius composers, Chopin foresaw a musical style that would come a hundred years later - Art Tatum.
he didnt foresee anything, they were inspired by him
Prochy r/whoosh

Valentina sei grandissima ! sei un dono meraviglioso ...
It's sad that the first note is missing in the video... The cameraman was caught off-guard.
The note is an E get over it lol
I Thought it would sound better without it
although it's not a well-known etude, i freakin love it!!!
she plays freely from her heart. i can feel wad the composer is saying and wad she is feeling too.. its just too awesome !

yes but further scrutiny reveals she drops notes to suit her high wrist technique.
The very first note is missing!!
and luckily you too! as well as for your stupid comment

I suppose it's to make people buy the CD.
Maybe the very beginning was cut?

Not only does she know all 24 etudes, but she's got them down to PERFECTION! Chopin truly comes out in every single one of these performances!

Not only is Valentina beautiful to listen to, but also beautiful to watch.
...sand she loves playing them. Just look at her expressions. She is totally in touch with the music.
I love how you play Valentina and that smile is.....alluring to say the least =P!
She makes it look so easy!

I wish I was a fly on the wall of her studio with the biggest ears and eyes in the world-
And that little devine smile -
I wish I could play like her! As "pepeyjack" said, she is a truly interperter. She feels and understands every note of the piece! Awesome pianist!
lol look a that smile, how can anyone not smile playing this piece
The hardest part is to hit ALL the chords with the left hand :)

Beautiful!
Najlepsza jaka znam -interpretacja tych arcytrudnych etiud. Tak samo La Campanella Liszta -i Rhapsodia.
Is she Chopin's sister or something?

Yes

This is so stride! Looks like Art Tatum borrowed from this for his 1949 "How High The Moon" arrangement.
You are the reincarnation of Chopin ♫
she's really enjoying!!
That smile...
Very good
She looks like she really understand what she's playing. A truly interpreter. Sorry my english.
Lovely.
Belo! e Bela!
This is how you learn stride piano!
Stride piano is how you learn this
Ska was not invented in Jamaica, but by Chopin. This is first ska. :D
that piano bench looks really comfy.........
play with smile on her face
I 💕 Lisitsa......thanks millions🌈•*¨*•.¸¸♪🌈•*¨*•.¸¸♪🌈👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wonderful :D
I can dig it.
@chutdigadut hmm, about every pianist has all the chopin etudes in head. but yes, she plays it amazingly =)
@NewRachmaninoff
You are exactly right on.
When she plays it seems so easy.
She's mocking us with that smile. XD.

what does that QOR sign mean valentina? in left upper screen
It's also very easy to miss a lot of notes…
there is no more beautiful woman alive. OMG marry me
She's already married lol
I agree, I only noticed one mistake in Chopin Etude Op 25 No 11 near the end. She stumbled the notes.
@Schamschi think of it as, madness, just imagine being introvertly mad.
that smileis very creepy. I imagine how creepy it wouldve been if she smiled like that in the little red riding hood performance :)
agreed
can you explain or anyone else? why tragic? why do you think it is tragic? just because its in minor?
אני, מלחין זה, אני אוהב.
העם הזה, בבקשה לנגן את השיר.
אנחנו מצפים לזה.
אני גם לשחק.
Well, I'm not Polish, nor do I claim that this makes a difference, but what this has got to do with "agitato" is beyond me.
which is the difficulty of this etude?
Valentina be like : ez clap
Fantástico. No lo interpreta como un estudio más de técnica.
for some reason this piece reminds me of tchaikovskys august harvest..........
maybe she has her eyes closed because she is enjoying playing the song
yes -_- she has a child
What? You didn't answer my question

why tragic?
Now compare this to Nehring xD
Szymon has the best intepretetion of this etude

헐 노래는 막 튀는데 표정은 편안해

Almost... there are some of them which i don't like, but it's fine
this playing is mechanical . Hear trifonov
So is your comment
Only in your opinion, as there are many with very different opinions.
And why do you think its bad? There are quite a few pieces of chopin that should be played "mechanical".
First play it like her and then say its bad
I bet she played them all in the same day just to show who is the boss!
sexy dress, this song is a demo song on my digital piano, i want to learn :/
잘하시네여 ㅋㅋ
paganini
she plays without feeling.
feeling of what? pompous ill thought out tempo changes that dominate classical musicians today? the way she plays this is correct.
What are you fucking gay?
Sorry, but I hear a lot of emotion...
