- This video demonstrates how to fix your P1004 Code by replacing the intake manifold runner valve on a 2006-2010 Dodge Charger with a 3.5L V6 engine. Here is a link to purchase the part: amzn.to/3F3pGmJ
Once the part is put in, you can clear the code by hooking up your OBD2 code reader and clearing the code, or by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes (around 15-20 minutes).
Here is a link to a reasonably priced code reader: amzn.to/3wLKluX

My 09 Durango had this code and watching this was very informative. Thank you
Just fixed this on my 07’. Was still in limp mode and could not get the codes to reset by pulling battery or fuse. Got my mechanic to reset the codes and it worked like a charm.
Thanks! I have a 2008 Magnum and this is one case where the part I need to replace is easy access.
If you don’t mind me asking what symptoms or sounds was that runner making ? I have an 07 magnum an I’m hearing a rough sound on accelerating from around that area
Thanks for the video
Do you have a video for replacing the engine variable valve timing sensor? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I purchased a new Runner for my 2007 Dodge Magnum 3.5L my question is when I took off the old is there suppose to be oil inside there before putting a new Runner in?
Thanks , this is a fantastic video wonderful!!.
I repaired my car , heading Orlando , my car broke in GA, I went to the closest AutoZone they let me scan my car and I see "error code P1004.
Then I bought the part and I repaired myself. Thanks a lot. The part expensive $205 but I saved money I didn't need a mechanic. 👍👍👍
I bought the part and i just put it in myself
but the check engine light didnt go away
Hi I just replaced my intake manifold control valve on my 07 Dodge Charger yesterday but it’s still having the same problem and reading the same code . Any suggestions?
What is that part called that you disconnected it from in the beginning?
I have an 07 charger throwing this code but there are two of these in my car. Is that normal? Looks like something different on the other side of yours. I got two new runners valves, so im gonna try replacing both and see what happens.
will be the same solution for a code p2008?
Very well done video! My 07 charger threw this code and now I can fix it!
Did you this fix your problem?
Have u fixed the problem??
Very helpful for my 06 charger
I have an 06 and cant find this part...where did you find yours? I only can find for 2007 and up 😟
Did u have to disconnect the battery for this?
so I have a 2007 dodge charger and that code is popping up , I changed the part and now it won’t start plus the red lighting bolt is popping up on the dash what could that be?
How long has this replacement part lasted you? im skeptic about buying from ebay and dont know my brands
i purchased an aftermarket part from amazon and it only lasted a few days. :(
I have a 2007 Chrysler 300 Touring 3.5L V6. I got this code and mechanic told me order two parts, Intake manifold short runner valve and intake manifold runner control tuning valve. He put them in and check engine light went away. He told me drive 50-100 miles and bring it back. I drove for about 60 miles and light came back on???
changed out the short runner valve &, manifold intake, erased code with cheap scanner but light still comes back on with code p1004 ? what else can i do ?
I had the same problem. I purchased the Mopar OEM part from the dealer, I've tried other brands like Dorman with no luck. Once i put the Mopar runner valve codes went off.
I have a 2005 dodge magnum and when I drive on a rough surface and the car vibrates a little the check engine light comes on and throws the code p2008 , it says that is related to the intake manifold runners so I'm wondering if I have to replace the whole upper intake or just the selenoid...anybody have an idea about it? thanks
Loose connector?
Is intake manifold and intake manifold runner the same part?
No intake manifold is what it goes into the big black top
Well you failed to specify what the symptoms are of that code you retrieved... Thank God I'm a mechanic or I never would have known what that part was for... some people may be curious what that part does..... with the proper operation of this part it will idle smoother
Can this cousin my car to idle wrong?
Is that the piece thats throwing the p2017 code?
I believe so. Currently doing research as to how to replace the actual valve housed inside the intake manifold. If I figure it out I'll link the video. Or I may have to make a video of my own and post it for you.
07 Chrysler 300 2.7 with code P0660, P2078
If you change the Intake manifold runner on a 2008 Dodge Charger and they check engine like come back on what should I get?
The runner in the manifold could be stuck open or closed. Check the code. Cleaner could help or you might have to replace the entire intake manifold.
@@MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC I hook a diagnostic machine to it to read the code. The diagnostic machine print out said it was the Intake manifold runner. I changed that and the light went off but after I drove it for two days it coming back on.
Do you have a video on how to fix it?
I have the same problem @@shaunhunter7474
I have a 08 dodge charger my problem is the antifreeze keeps filling up to the top .it's not smoking, not over heating just looks like is boiling
Check the radiator cap and overflow caps. Make sure they are on properly. Look for any leaks. Also, see if your cooling fan is working.
should there be gunk inside there?
Gunk is never good. Clean the gunk.
What about a p2017 code????
Brendan Castle - that code could be caused by the motor switch (which this video shows how to change) or the valve in the manifold is stuck open. After removing the switch, use a flathead screwdriver to move the runner back and forth. That might free up the runner valve.
Mine has code p1005
I have an 06 3.5L Charger. My runner valve looks completely different, along with the electrical wire that plugs into it. I cannot find anything at all about this online. It’s a little bit bigger and has a silver back. Can anyone help?
I'm having same issue here did you ever find anything
Same issue, it’s a whole different system. Our year car doesn’t have that new runner valve, our is two bolt not 4.
@@andylevingston16 what’s the issue and where u get the part? Autozone says i have to go to dodge direct
Anyone know where to get the electrical connector for this?
Online or any used car parts place, (a.k.a. Junk yard).
URGENT! can this be the same as a 2007 Chrysler 300
It might be close. Can’t guarantee the same.
What about code p0660
@Kayla Miguel Thx
I changed the runner valve and still have that code
Could be the runner value in the manifold is stuck.
@@MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC where did you order this part from I'm looking for a 2006 valve for a Chrysler 300 I only see 2007 - 2010 availability
Desiree Davis - we bought our part on EBay. Click the link in the description on the video and it will take you to the part.
@@MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC ok thank you
@@MartinsUsedCarsCollectiblesLLC the link is no longer available on the video can you please send it on this text
Why is this part so cheap on the link that you gave but in other auto parts stores it's over $200
Aftermarket part vs OEM part will have a big price difference.
You didn't check to see if the flap moved freely first....tsk tsk
What flap?
Oh wow George bush
