When I had an Ecoboost Mustang the Ford Performance tune made a big difference. I had the dealership install it for warranty purposes. A tale of caution here, had the Ford Performance tune and throttle body loaded onto my 5.0 Mustang by the dealership drove it home and put it in the garage. Went to drive it 3 days later and it had all kinds of warning lights and wouldn't run. Because a Ford dealership installed it the tow and all repairs were covered. Hate to think what would have happened if I did it myself. Just something to keep in mind if anyone does decide to get the tune.
Hey there! LOVE your channel and I just installed this tune on my own Bronco 2.3 2 door Big Bend with Sasquatch and it's AWESOME!!! It was your reaction in this video that cemented me going ahead and buying the tune. THANK YOU!!! :)
I remember installing this same tune in my 2017 6spd manual Ecoboost Mustang. It became an absolute little beast, felt much faster than a 5.7 Challenger i had a few years ago
Let me ask with this tune and the (need to use 93 octane premium fuel ? ) what hmm how do i say , what do you do in some or most situations where as you drive to small rual town in wich they( DO NOT provide 93 premium ) only regular at there station ?? Will this harm the vehicle , and is this always a must use ?? In fuel type . And do all other tunes require the same ?? Hope i asked this right
Hey Jim & Krista... as always love the content, you guys are great! But a few questions: So here's my build - 2.3 7spd manual, blow off, MBRP cat back, K&N, Pedal Commander, 33x12.50, Bilstein 6100 2.4". Oh, and 2 door Base (shorty) So my main concern (last truck was a 6.2 supercharged F250)... is the engine temp on these Eco boosts a concern? not used to seeing 200+ . So I'm hitting around 190 with what i listed above. Does the Ford tuner lower the temp or should I look at an intercooler/ down pipe? Or should I just do the 5.2 VooDoo swap from HTX and be done? Just dont want to pop the lil 2.3 before its time.
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV Lol! actually, I ordered the ProCal two days after my original post - thanks for the promo code BTW! I've had it installed for 5 days now, and love it! I also pre-ordered the Mishimoto intercooler kit (MMINT-BR23-21K). It will be here in early March. Says it lowers the temp by about 21 degrees. Next time you visit Bodyguard, let me know, I'm only 80 miles to the south west of them - I'll let you send it 🙂. My brother and I are doing the TX Off-Rodeo on 11/25, can't wait.
When programming modules, the "scary" warnings are normal. The regular communication on the CAN bus gets interrupted during the programming session. So the messages for those modules don't get through and the warnings get shown by default. I've done this stuff for work hundreds/thousands of times.
Thank you Buttercup.. This convinced me to but the Procal from Lethal Performance.. Seemed to be best price around.. Your video SOLD the system.. GO BUTTERCUP 🎉
I just had this installed at the dealership, so it wouldn't void my warranty. I found after I got it back the Auto-Stop is now persistent after the vehicle is off. I know you have the bypass installed, so you probably wouldn't have noticed it, if the Calibration kit did it. Or if my Dealer Tech disabled it somehow. Be interested if anyone else who got this experienced the same.
Why dont you do a comparison video between the Panda motorsports tune, the ford motorsport and the JB4 tune. Two are piggy backs and of course the Ford performance is ECU. I put on some race wheels adn am trying to get decent gas mileage due to the 2 doors tiny fuel tank. Ford performance told me you have to remove their tune prior to applying another one.
If you read the fine print on the Ford Performance Calibration, if it is installed by an authorized Ford/Lincoln Dealer, Shelby America, or automotive technician certified by either ASE or RSE it will not void the new car warranty. Sounds like it is not a good idea to do a DIY installation.
I’m having trouble getting the performance tune to download into the calibration device from the program on my pc… I keep getting a “device not connected” message.
First order from Lethal Performance. Thanks you buckleup! Can not wait to get this tune installed on my 2021 2.3L. Had a Ford Focus RS with Cobb tune and thought it was great. This is more of a torque story, but I'm sure Ford Performance took their time with it.JCG
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV I’d say the ford tune will be better because it also adjust your trans shift points the panda module doesn’t. Also if you are a manual bronco owner the tune comes with an option to add auto rev match and it works amazingly
You're going to be on a first name basis with all the Florida sheriff's in your county. Unless they changed the laws you can only take driving school once a year in Florida to avoid insurance surcharges😊

Are you still thinking the tune was worth it ?
Nothing like being an amature tuning a vehicle!

Nice!
My bronco is stock. And max boost was 24psi. I was going up a mountain. 2.3 7 spd
I have a 22' manual as well but only have seen it as high as 19.

Great review, especially with the draggy. I’ll be adding this to my 2.7
Same
What other features can it do? Can it do some forscan changes?
There are other things it can do, they update often. I would check the ford performance website for the latest updates.

I say the engine swap, and then bring it here so I can drive it 😀

Yes that's normal. Bronco has grill shutters. It keeps temps in 190-200 range because it's more efficient.

Has anyone encountered an issue with the ProCal4 not seeing the Bronco's ECU? If so, how did you resolve this?
I have not, have you tried ford performance tech customer service
@@BuckleUpButtercupTV I did but they are not open on the weekends. Will try during the week. Great video BTW.

I think that’s a feature you can turn off with the pro cal, just hook it up and choose the setting.

No sense to do Panda Motorworks one, after doing the FP… that one literally stinks!

You only have to get a Ford tech to install the tune if you didn't purchase the tuner from Ford...
Hii is it possible to switch back and forth between tune and stock on the procal
Yes, you would need the procal each time to do it
I’m having trouble getting the performance tune to download into the calibration device from the program on my pc… I keep getting a “device not connected” message.
Same happened to me, just keep trying and it eventually worked.
0-60 comparison?
What kind of bracket did you have to hold the pro cal and phone?
How long was the waiting for it
I need this!!! Are you going to do a follow up video about this? Is there one for the 2.7?
Yes I will have a follow up video out tomorrow at 5pm est!
That’s a nice little unit. Lots of features.

If an intake and other parts are installed will it require a retune?
No
I like the tune with the manual
Can I combine this with the jb4?
I don’t recommend it.
Makes the 2.3 worth looking at now imo.
Thanks
Do you have to keep it constantly plugged in? Or can you just calibrate it then unplug it?
You can unplug and put away!
Does this affect your warranty because I would like to do it to my vehicle.
No
Do you have to leave the Ford Performance Calibration w/ ProCal 4 Calibration Delivery Tool (2021-2022 Bronco 2.7L) - M-9603-B27 attached always?
No, once it’s flashed you can unplug and put away

I was really looking forward to getting a car that I didn’t have to run super in.

I uninstalled the panda one for now, I’m going to compare to see which one I’ll keep.
