    Had the AFE module for a 2.7 Bronco. Power seemed good but then the cross traffic alert would alarm. Shortly after that I would lose power and had to use the bypass module to run again. Sent unit back to AFE. Had to constantly contact them for updates. 3 to 4 weeks later, I finally got the unit back. It was worse than ever. They asked me to return it to them again saying they had rebuilt everything in it and wanted to check the harness to see if there was something wrong with it. I had sent it to them, at my expense, and now they wanted it again. They had the harness the first time I sent it to them. I decided to return it for a refund. Bought a JB4 and have had no problems.

    Love it! Ford says the 2.3 gets 300hp stock though with 91 Octane. Is the 33 hp increase over the 87 octane rating of 275 as well as the 91 octane rating?

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  2 года назад +1

      Their measurements are at the wheels on a dyno. I'm not sure which fuel they used, but my expectation would be that it was 91 octane. It's worth noting that their HP gains are at 4k RPM, not necessarily at peak HP. The dyno chart is on our 2.3L Scorcher listing page here: www.motoroso.com/p/2117228-afe-21-22-ford-bronco-19-22-ford-ranger-l4-23l-t-ecoboost-scorcher-gt-power-module

    How does this work along with say like the gas pedal modules out there that do the same thing for throttle response? I mean the vehicle already has normal, Eco and sport modes? Standard sport mode has enough zing for me without messing with the Computer

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  Год назад +1

      They work very well together. The pedal commander does not increase any of the power output, it just makes the pedal more responsive/sensitive, which is great. The scorcher actually pushes the engineer to produce more power and torque. So, if you don't feel the need for more actual power, then you owuldn't need the scorcher. Certainly for anyone going to larger tire sizes, that extra power is needed fromt he 2.3L 4-cyl.

      Hey Geoffrey, no there shouldn’t be any drawbacks to running in race mode, although it is pushing the boost harder, so I’d recommend an oil catch can as well. I have no idea if this could be wired into the aux switch, but I would not attempt that personally.

  • @Ammoguy1
    @Ammoguy1 2 года назад +1

    How is this different than just putting the GOAT mode to Sport setting?

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  2 года назад

      I'm not sure all that the Sport mode does, but typically from OEM it simply makes the throttle pedal more sensitive. Sometimes it might advance the output from the engine, but the Scorcher is going to push that further a little bit. It plugs inline with the MAP and TMAP sensors and tells the engine to send more boost. So, whatever sport is putting out, this will push it a little further. Additionally, the pedal commander is a great compliment, because instead of just one setting for pedal sensitivity defined by the sport mode, you'll have 36 levels of control!

    How does it affect mpg with normal driving on a 2.7? Same, more, less?

    • @Motoroso
      @Motoroso  2 года назад

      In the Sport, Sport+ and Race modes they'll be pushing more boost and producing more power, it's going to likely have a slight reduction in MPG, but it shouldn't be extreme. As usual, that'll have a lot more to do with how heavy your right foot is. We haven't used on on a 2.7L yet to be able to measure the exact change. We really like combining this product with the Pedal Commander as well, because using the eco mode on the pedal commander really slows down the pedal and that helps more than any other tool in reducing fuel consumption. On our 2.7L we bumped MPG from 17 up to 21 on an 800 mile road trip to San Diego, and we credit that to the pedal commander. We didn't/don't have the Scorcher on the 2.7L yet.
