Im currently doing 21.4 on my 2.7 sasquatch. Did 25mpg between Chicago and NY. Thats just stock. I didn't swap anything, if anything, added more weight to the front swapping the plastic bumper with an all steel. Its all about how you drive it. Eco mode and coast when you can. Use the hills for momentum. Country roads do better than both city and highway driving.
The way you drive will give you far more gas mileage than any of these mods ever will. Most people who do these mods do it for performance and will negate any positive effects on mileage by driving more quickly and aggressively. I doubt you'll ever get your money back out of better mileage for the cost of these mods.
The MPG needs to be verified by the odometer and gas pump. The display on the dash is an estimated calculation. Should have filled the tank, installed the part, drove 200 miles, and then refilled the tank to get the MPG !!
Back in my younger days I thought the engineering that went into new cars could be inproved but the more i changed things the worst results i got. I believe keeping it the way it comes will pay off in the long run.
I’ll be honest with you guys I have had KN filter on mine since ownership and a video of cleaning the filter on my channel! It’s reliable and as long as you clean and well maintain it your fine
When I attempt to order the K&N 2021-2024 FORD BRONCO REPLACEMENT AIR FILTER 2.3/2.7L F/I, SKU: E-0634....it says it is not compatible with any Bronco configuration I put in. Mine is a 2021, 2.7L Big Bend 4 door non-sasquatch. This should fit, correct?
If you’re looking for a commuter for gas mileage buy a car not an off road machine 😂 My Bronco works it hauls my boat Goes fishing/ camping/ pulls my flats boat in and out at a dirt boat launch Goes to the hardware and gets loaded with mulch or pvc pipes or whatever is needed to run a campground that day. Does some off road driving just for fun on occasion. Do I take care of it yes Keep it clean yes Do all my own filters and fluids yes I am not silly enough to think it was going to be good on fuel mileage though 😂 2021 Badlands 60k on the clock and running strong only motorcraft filters used. excellent fuel mileage is for Prius owners 😂
I would not do K&N, the oils that are on it and the oils you have to reply will just it sucked into the block which will increase the silicone levels. Also it does filter less. Fust stay with stock
I’m getting 20 mpg using eco mode. I have the Bronco Big Ben with a lot of accessories and Sasquatch package. So maybe the filter will bring me up to 21.5
Premium fuel is less efficient than regular because it is harder to ignite. The advantage is you can run more timing or boost because it helps prevent detonation.
The AfE Apollo GT is a high clearance exhaust that is better suited to off-road use, but not as effective as the Flowmaster High Clearance Axle Back exhaust (muffler delete).
Yeah I’m getting 18.7 mpg right now (live in Las Vegas). It would be cool to get to 19/20….I have the same build as you, but mine is still “bone” stock (2.7L, Badlands, Sas, 4.70 gear)
Try adding not only the K&N stock air filter, but try E3 spark plugs and you’ll notice you’ll be into the 20s very quickly and you could still run on regular fuel
K&N style filters KILL engines by allowing dirt to pass thru. NEVER run a K&N style filter on any motor that does NOT get torn down and rebuilt between races. If you go to look at a used car and it has one of those filters, walk away, fast.
@TownCountryTV - you need to do something about the outrageous shipping charges. I went to purchase the K&N air filter and shipping was going to be $25. That's absolutely ridiculous. Needless to say, I didn't order one 😞
The K&N filter you installed is the wrong one. That is too large for that air inlet inside the box. There is a revised filter I think, but have not been able to find the part number for the 22+ bronco.
Seems strange that Ford would add that stupid auto stop/start in order to increase MPG, but they wouldn't make these intake/exhaust changes. Probably due to noise restrictions.
The K&N was a terrible fit on the bronco. It isn't just looser. It rattles. You can see him double thinking it after setting it in place. It has no room to lock down, allowing air in without it passing through the filter. So, yes it increases air throughput. Major pass. Also, consider what an offroad filter needs to deal with compared to an on road one. Higher throughput can mean less filtering, especially with a poor gasket fit, which means dust penetration. Something the tight fitting paper filters nearly entirely stop. You know what else increases horsepower and MPG? Not running an air filter at all. A death sentence for such a vehicle. There is a similar sized K&N with a metal strap screwband to snug up the gasket grip. I'd run that one over this one that is a supposed drop in, but because of the dust issues on off road vehicles, stay with good quality paper filters.
k&n filters are a waste of money cost to much they work good on non computer controlled vehicles but the computers control the air flow, had on on my old F-150 mileage went up about 1 mpg but on my 94 jeep there was no change cause the computer controls air flow
Yeah every time someone talks about K&N it makes me want one more but I keep hearing it’s not meant for reliability, it’s meant for performance and that means you get more dirt through the filter causing more damage and upkeep later on.
Yep 👍 but one thing also if you live in the city and your not out on dusty roads there is less impact, plus if you have a high intake/snorkel it raises the intake level so your picking up less dirt and dust that’s gonna be closer to the ground…. But in the long run it’s definitely less protection but I’ve seen people with aftermarket intakes above 150k (had them installed before 30k) with no issues too. Environment, maintenance and driving habits will affect your reliability more than anything.
Run stock non-sasquatch OBX rims and tires, open up the exhaust, and run sport mode in 4A. 22.5-23.5 mpg at an average speed of 75 MPH in the Texas hill country. Tell me about how good your fuel mileage is again, I want to laugh...

Any estimate for MPG at 80-90mph? Nobody drives below those speeds in Europe. 13? Thks.

“Anybody can do this.”
Step 2: vehicle is on a lift. 😅
So, I have a lift at home, makes life much easier

will pay off in the long run.
Drive in EcoMode, and if you drive at the right gear-rpm ratio, you should see 22-25mpg. I’ve gotten 26 mpg on long drives, 24 mpg on town driving.
How to know that?
I do the same thing.. dont go over 65mph 1.9k rpm, after that the tirbo spools up and you lose mpg. @JustMe-SA
Eco mode does nothing on the hwy
K&N filters flow better because they filter less. Which is REALLY a concern if you are running in dusty conditions.
Just a question. So why doesn't Ford install these types of products as original equipment to increase its EPA mileage rating?
I’ll be honest with you guys I have had KN filter on mine since ownership and a video of cleaning the filter on my channel! It’s reliable and as long as you clean and well maintain it your fine

I went to put it in my cart and it said shipping was $36. Um, no Sir. May have to get that directly from the manufacturer’s website for free shipping.

Is there something like Ford performance tune for f150 5.0?
I’m getting 20 mpg using eco mode. I have the Bronco Big Ben with a lot of accessories and Sasquatch package. So maybe the filter will bring me up to 21.5
Is that the British Bronco with a big clock at the top?
@@JonO387 DUDE, Lmfao!!!!!!!

Can you make a video of how to increase mpg on 2021 ford ranger?
exhaust does help especially if you use hi-pro cat and a bigger diameter pipes

Wow what are the revs at 60mph.
The most reliable way to get better mileage out of any vehicles isn’t with commercially available bolt-ons. Learning how to drive efficiently is key.
Stock 2022 outer Banks best highway was 26.1 but daily driving 20 to 21 mpg
Can you use the pro cal tune with a mobile device or have to use a desktop computer?

So if I install this and need to smog my vehicle in CA do I just need to change the ProCal setting back to stock or is it more involved than that?
MATHMAN DID IT AGAIN

I wish gas was $3.29 a gallon in California!
Won't a tune void the factory warranty?

I second that’s you can see how loose it is in the video. It’s 1/4 to large and will leak air. All these online people are scams!!!
I have the same bronco and only get 16.3 miles per gallon… The same since New no matter what I do
Seems strange that Ford would add that stupid auto stop/start in order to increase MPG, but they wouldn't make these intake/exhaust changes.
Probably due to noise restrictions.
Thaks really informative
When are you putting a v8 in it?
Damn my 2door Big Bend 2.3l SAS..all stock is only getting 17.8mpg :(
Some good info
I love TC Customs vids. A K&N filter wouldn't add more mpgs though. Com'mon guys.
My dad just bought that Bronco
Funny, some people have been denied warranty claims because of K&N type filters lol.
Some people are going to the wrong dealers for warranty work. That’s CRAZY!
Wow what the heck, i'm getting 16mpg max on my 2.7 squatch. Must be the 100 degree air out here

Has anyone done this with the 4 cylinder?
I have 2.3L with manual. My avg is 22mpg
More mpg, cut the 1600lbs it weighs over the f150. I get 8mpg on 93 octane. The 87 bronco with a 351 Windsor had better mileage.
k&n filters are a waste of money cost to much they work good on non computer controlled vehicles but the computers control the air flow, had on on my old F-150 mileage went up about 1 mpg but on my 94 jeep there was no change cause the computer controls air flow
Step 3 is put some strut lifts under the hood, lol
this video is a huge joke..its really hurts your reputation ..
Don't forget lighter wheels.
50% more air flow… and 50% more dirt.
I was just thinking about doing this to my truck but then I remembered I work on the river

Ahh yes. This snake oil thing again. Your ecu changes your a/f ratio. This does nothing
Congratulations on voiding your warranty.
I easily get 22-24 MPG on mixed driving, keeping my foot out of the gas accelerating easily saves more MPG then these silly mods 😂😂
i have a full k&n airi ntake and a full frt?bck borla exhaust open road eco mode 25mpg on my 2.7 4dr with no programer
