@@nathaniels9141 Yeah, those stealth changes got me riled up a little. I know they’ve got servers to maintain and must be stressed, but even Lords of the Fallen had detailed patch notes. Like, to the point it was almost excessive, and I enjoyed reading it, but I’m a freak for numbers and adjustments. Devs handle things differently from one team to another though. Friendly fire being univerally enabled is one of my favourite things about this game. I haven't unlocked the shield relay yet but I had wondered if a point blank rocket launch would destroy the devastator or not. Never occurred to me to try it with bile titans. Brilliant idea!
Thanks mate! And agreed, the friendly fire makes the game incredibly fun creating last minute "get down Mr. President" moments when your friends throw their eagle on top of you haha
I've 100% seen Titans wiping out their own hordes (including Chargers) with their spit, as well as Rocket Devastators blasting their own guys trying to get to Helldivers. Not sure if a point-blank launch would be enough to kill one (since the damage would be spread out), but it would definitely beat them up. I'm gonna have to bring this gem with me on my next few drops and play around with it.
Expendable anti tanks CAN one shot a bile titan, if timed correctly! It's a little tricky to pull off, but while spewing their bile, when their face glows green, titan faces are exposed, and if shot in the face with a rocket, they can die in one hit. When fighting titans, the trick is to be fearless: they look intimidating, but they're really quite manageable and not super fast. And strangely, their bile spew is actually _less_ dangerous than the little bile spewers, who are way more accurate. Drop some EAT's, bait out the spew, and be prepared to dive out of the way if you miss!
That's why I love this game. I first saw a titan kill itself when it started spraying acid at me. I looked back wondering why I wasn't dead and saw that the bile was being blocked by a windmill from an objective. And then sure enough, the titan died and I laughed out loud. I never thought to try a shield to do the same but very cool to see it weaponizing the bile against them.
It’s more of a glitch as the game mentions nothing of reflecting projectiles or blocking chargers. It’ll probably be patched. No doubt the bugs were the last thing on the devs minds when making the startagem
Devs stealth adding charger repel makes it better. Just like buffing/nerfing 110mm sticking and not sticking or how great It tracked in air on land to how they unbuffed it again
I knew there was someone out there who saw the insane value of the dome shield. You can also have an infinite shield by taking turns between teammates who also know the timing and cooldown, creating an infinite loop. I’ve experimented with throwing a Tesla coil inside as they both have fast cooldowns and it makes for a good bug zapper. Edit: (last week i could throw a Tesla sentry inside the shield without any problems, after the last patch the Tesla sentry is now damaging the Shield’s core)
Wonder if that was also the patch where they ensured it stops Chargers 100% of the time. Some other comments here seem to indicate it didn’t always work like that.
@@OneBiasedOpinion might have to do more testing, when doing this i was throwing the tesla sentry while prone inside the shield, the tesla sentry doesn’t hit you while prone unless an enemy gets close to you.
@@OneBiasedOpinion it doesn’t block chargers. I tested it last night and every single charger ran through my dome shield/shield generator relay. None of them “stopped” or got stopped by it. That’s the way it’s been since day 1, so this video is likely only showing a rare occurrence (or a bug) as the Bubble dome does not stop chargers at all Edit: looks like it *can* now potentially but the charger already has to be already charging at you while the shield is up, then charger is stuned very briefly. But the charger simply walks/charges into the bubble immediately after. So yea, it has basically zero actual value at all
The bile spit isn’t exactly being “reflected”. When bile spit lands it causes an invisible AoE explosion, explaining why diving out of the way of the stream doesn’t guarantee you don’t get hit. But since the spit is landing so close to the titan’s face when it tries to attack through the bubble, it’s eating a constant stream of acid AoE right next to its face, dying quickly. Still clever as hell though!
Or you could just walk a bit to the left, yes walk, you can dodge a Charger by walking, instead of wasting a stratagem slot on a shit stratagem to avoid one charger every couple of minutes, learn to dodge.

I've used the shield relay as a decoy before to break engagement bc I knew that enemies would target it, but I never thought about using it to lure them into an Eagle kill! Absolutely genius!!
Thanks mate! Wanted to cover something I thought was really cool and highlighted some awesome attention to detail things the devs have put into their game.
YeetsMeMario always makes the most incredible in depth guides and content. It’s extremely unique and he’s also a world record challenge runner to boot that has many no hit runs under his belt. Highly recommend this guy!
I'm working on a video regarding trench digging as a defensive strategy against Automatons. While I had considered the Shield Relay as merely a 'defensive cleanse' - this video has proved that I can't make a compelling comparison yet. Bravo
This is the aspect i like about this game, there are a lot of tier-lists, listing best strategems. But each strategem got it's own unique mechanics and tricks, so different people would adopt different playstyles
As entertaining/informative as videos like this are, when I dive in with strategems I don't normally grab for some strategy I just watched a video on as soon as enemies are within combat range all I can do is be like Sponge Bob and go "WHAT I LEARNED IN BOATING SCHOOL IS...! WHAT I LEARNED IN BOATING SCHOOL IS...!"
Nerd emoji time but it's not actually 'reflecting', it's just eating splash damage because it's so close. Kinda crazy that it stops chargers though? Between that and the personal shield stopping melee attacks I think Arrowhead need a lesson on what "high-speed projectiles" are.
I've been using a support sniper setup more than anything recently. Anti material rifle, jump pack, and usually the eagle rockets and a railcannon. I try to setup far enough away so that i dont attract enemies, but still have visual on my allies as they approach an objective. As they attack i call out enemies, kill those that are flanking, and just cause some damage to the enemy when i can. Use the anti material to take out some of the bigger tougher enemies. If any real big enemy shows up and my team is struggling with it, i take it out with rockets or railcannon. I usually use the jump pack for getting to higher elevation, but it's perfect for quick escapes as well. It also helps you catch up with your team if you're lagging to far behind.
Smokes are amazing as well! You can throw it ahead and break enemies lines of sights for a second! Helps with the machines! Sometimes it even hides the team during extract to give people some seconds to reload, etc.
This is why every stratagem and weapon should be tested. I love stuff like this. I've never run the shield generator and assumed it would be for Automatons only. Very clever.
i have a question, did they nerfed the 500kg bomb? i think you used it in the video and kill a bug further away than the now days 500kg bomb wouldnt kill, the 500kg bomb now barely hit a thing, unless its super close, like 5-10 meters
incredible, thanks for showing. How much cooldown does this shield have? I'll try it out tomorrow. and is the 500 kg bomb the best combination with it?
i think my current favorite setup is expendable antitank laser cannon supply pack orbital of your choosing expendable means you should nearly always have a way of dealing with heavier enemies laser cannon means you're basically never wasting ammo on smaller enemies (though you'll probably spend ammo on hunters) supply pack is just a carried resupply (love that thing) (free grenades, free stims, AND free ammo. very nice to have.) whatever orbital you bring, they've all got uses. my favorite part is that it's fairly low level, and pretty accessible for all skill levels, meaning it's a good build for newer players. it also stands up to higher difficulties. it's not exactly meta, but i like it, and i don't have everything else unlocked yet anyways.
This also should help squads with the stand your ground tactic. A video recently detailed how the bugs informed each other when there is a helldriver nearby. Yes just like real bugs such as ants and termites. With this mechanic bugs chasing helldrivers alert other bugs and causes hoards of enemies to overwhelm the helldrivers. This stratagem is perfect for standing your gournd and not running away.
Chargers and bile spewers have been the only thing preventing me from toasting every bug with my flamethrower, never thought of bringing the shield against them but after seeing this I'll definitely be giving it a try! I think something like flamethrower, shield generator, exosuit, any kind of strikes/orbital lazer could be nice. In any case you've gained a sub ❤
Since I discovered that capsules kill enemies, I always use the disposable rifle Hellpods to eliminate titans. It's the Hellpod with the shortest deployment and recovery time. Every time the titan stops to spit or crush, it gets pierced by one of those capsules. It's the closest thing to being able to eliminate those monsters in close combat.
I run shield defense with gas strike on solo helldive, use it as a combo for the little guys, works like a charm and has super fast rearming time. I love to go with the expandable launcher as well. that gives you 3 pots you can drop every 90 seconds, 2 Launcher every 63 secconds. Easily enough to kill all the charges and bile titans in the world, even if you have to kill the titans with dropping pots on them, or distract enemies with your dropped pots. It's a fun to play setup imo. And never forget that the a.i. has friendly fire just like we helldivers do. You never have to defeat more then one bile titan as they accid spit themselfs to death pretty quickly.
It's a small thing, but setting the redeemer (the machine pistol) to semi auto does so much to help its performance. It only takes one shot to take out the lightest bugs and bots if you hit weak points, so ammo conservation means you can use it to take out a large group instead of emptying the entire magazine into one or two enemies that are dead after the first few shots. This lets it act as a good partner to the punisher
Before the arc crash I was using the Tesla tower, throwing them into bug nests and throwing it at my feet on the retreat and it would melt everything, defence strats are really underrated because they’re not utilised to their full potentional, a defence strat doesn’t mean you have to hide behind it.
Nice. I've used it to defend panels as I enter codes or wait for them to load, as well as set it up at a position I wanted to advance on against automatons. I suspected it blocked Termanid acid, but I had no idea it blocked Chargers. People kept saying the mech is paper weak against automatons, but I doubt a single one of them dropped a shield for the mech. Bit of a side note, Chargers can definitely ram into each other. I love all the little interactions.
Another potential strat: 4 flamers. The whole team bunkers down in the shield and melts anything that comes close. Focus fire chargers to absolutely evaporate them in seconds. If you can't quite get the trick of the titan reflect strategy, bring a couple expendables. OR, since we're grouped up and safe anyway, we can finally make use of the team reload, to use spears or recoilless at maximum efficiency and pulverize titans as they approach On higher difficulties, have someone bring an autocannon or railgun to deal with distant bile spewers.
I once dropped the bubble and a 500kg bomb when a bile titan was on my ass and guess what! It keeps you safe. The other divers couldn't believe it. I didn't either😂
I tried this strat due to this video and it actually works well. You can drop a 500kg on the bile titan even if it didn't kill itself and it's good for luring hordes away when you need to reposition or run.
What we currently need is some sort of: a) lure - could be a helldivers cutout with a siren attached that would lure in bugs/alert cyborgs enough for them to try to turn said cutout into shreds with sheer firepower or (proposed by somebody else on reddit) a small pistol turrent that is armored like a tank b) screecher/ultrasound/infrared blaster - something that would disturb bugs for them to either step aside (this could be proper flamethrower utility - usually living beings are scared of fire); as for cyborgs it could fry their targeting system's FoF identification (or simply could scramble their optics for a while) These would be purely distraction tools with no real firepower, but with enough Democratic Power for Helldivers to survive another 5 minutes (Helldivers are cheap to produce, but 1 stratagem might be cheaper than gear of 4 Helldivers)
This not only redeemed the shield for my use case, but indirectly also the flame thrower (which I often found near useless as hunters would constantly spread the fire towards me)
Who would’ve guessed the dome actually deflected bile spit.

Saw your explanation livestream, but this was a nice and concise summary. Can't wait for part 2!
Thanks Revan! Will be trying to get the video out asap without diminishing the quality
It’s nice to see someone who is not complaining about the meta being nerfed and finding new tools for the job. Great video!
Thanks mate, always fun giving the under appreciated stratagems a second look to see what cheeky strats we can come up with!
I needed to get sold on it. Since even with friends I didn't find them to Hunker in it a heap. You just did all that. Every point you brought up, I need it for. It will now become a staple part of my set up! Cheers!
this is the type of tactical genius i luv in this game, im so glad you showed this. just something as simple as using it as a grouping tool for the 500kg is enough to sell me.
This paired with Gas might be a gem
oh shit, you're cooking something here for sure!
Does gas work on titans? I know ems can't him them
Did it work?
@@travellingbriefcase It does, but the body needs to be in the gas so needs awkard placement on hills or cliffs
Excellent display of ingenuity we can all learn from.
This is some high quality content!!!
Deeply appreciated mate! Thank you so much for your support 🙏 Stoked you enjoyed the content! Cheers
first time a youtuber does not bait me with his content, huge respect and well played
Haha woo! I'll take the W. Happy hunting mate
Are you able to put a Tesla tower inside to zap enemies that try to move in close to destroy it?
Awesome stuff! Was waiting for them to bring back the distractor beacon from the first game, turns out a better version was already here all along!
I never played the first game but thought I’d be cheeky and find different ways to use it like I did for rattleweed in remnant 😂 Thanks for commenting Spiked!
Man, I've been kicked out of several lobbies for using the Shield Generator Relay, with people claiming it's "useless" and accusing me of "trolling". It's refreshing to see someone else using it effectively. 💛
Definitely gonna give this a try. I’m down for crafty stratagem planning!
I've used the shield relay as a decoy before to break engagement bc I knew that enemies would target it, but I never thought about using it to lure them into an Eagle kill! Absolutely genius!!
You've inspired me to use this. I had no idea it had so much utility. Thanks for the rundown!
My pleasure, enjoy!
This is actually pretty cool and taught me something I didn't know after a lot of hours in the game. Amazing video.
Thanks mate! Wanted to cover something I thought was really cool and highlighted some awesome attention to detail things the devs have put into their game.
@@yeetsmemario amazing work.
literally unlocked it last night, shocked to see how short the cd is, can’t wait to try these!
Dude this was super insightful I appreciate your video
My pleasure thanks for watching!
I wonder if the Relay Shield and the 180/360 Barrage streaks would be a good combo ? Or even a Relay Shield and the Walking Barrage streaks?
I’m most definitely running the shield relay now I never knew it could do all that
Thanks mate, go get soldier 💪
YeetsMeMario always makes the most incredible in depth guides and content. It’s extremely unique and he’s also a world record challenge runner to boot that has many no hit runs under his belt. Highly recommend this guy!
Thank you Soru, appreciate you 👊
I'm working on a video regarding trench digging as a defensive strategy against Automatons. While I had considered the Shield Relay as merely a 'defensive cleanse' - this video has proved that I can't make a compelling comparison yet. Bravo
Using it as a durable lure/decoy was very informative. Going to start using this asap!
My pleasure, enjoy!
This is the aspect i like about this game, there are a lot of tier-lists, listing best strategems. But each strategem got it's own unique mechanics and tricks, so different people would adopt different playstyles
Absolutely love this! Running it starting now!
Good luck soldier!
great informative video, clear and concise, not full of bloat. Very good!
Yeah this is the business. This is the type of Helldivers content I need.
thinking outside the box! well done!
Yesssss YeetsMeMario is popping off with Helldivers 2!!! From remnant to this, i'm excited to see more content like this.
This….warrants further experimentation. You may have cracked the egg with a find like this.
Testing always required 😁
With the TCS mission type, curious how reasonable it is to pair a shield with any of the sentries, even the tesla tower
Brilliant, love the title. Don't want most folks to find out or they will nerf it.
So charger counts as a ranged attack?
"The best Offense is a good Defense" -Rogal Dorn
As entertaining/informative as videos like this are, when I dive in with strategems I don't normally grab for some strategy I just watched a video on as soon as enemies are within combat range all I can do is be like Sponge Bob and go "WHAT I LEARNED IN BOATING SCHOOL IS...! WHAT I LEARNED IN BOATING SCHOOL IS...!"
This is the kind of video that brings glory to super earth!
For democracy!
Nerd emoji time but it's not actually 'reflecting', it's just eating splash damage because it's so close.
Kinda crazy that it stops chargers though? Between that and the personal shield stopping melee attacks I think Arrowhead need a lesson on what "high-speed projectiles" are.
I've been sleeping on the dern thing because much like smoke grenades if you don't know where to place it precisely it can be completely wasted.
Also with the low cool down the amount of times I've just used the drop-pod to kill a charger is certainly up there.
Very true!
Ii love using the Shield Generator but this video filled my mind so many ideas to try. Thanks so much sharing your wisdom lad. Cheers!
My pleasure! Enjoy the experimenting mate
Thing is, you never stay in one position for long enough to actually be able to use it effectively.
incredible, thanks for showing. How much cooldown does this shield have? I'll try it out tomorrow. and is the 500 kg bomb the best combination with it?
Serious question could you put the arc tower in the shield ? Would that possibly be good
wait youre insane for this?
Checking in if you tried it or it works?
"Shields are a great defensive tool"
This guy: "Yes! If you're a peasant!"
You sir have just gotten yourself a new subscriber 👍🏽 I really like the way you pitched the dome like a salesman. You’ve also convinced me to run it
Haha thanks for the sub, I'll send my resume off to the car dealership whilst I'm at it 😋
Love watching your streams, that one is so creative definitely gonna use that one and share it!
Thank you charrnell! You're always welcome in our streams mate. Happy Hunting :)
"After seeing this video will you-"
Yes. This is hella cool.
Bang!
i think my current favorite setup is
expendable antitank
laser cannon
supply pack
orbital of your choosing
expendable means you should nearly always have a way of dealing with heavier enemies
laser cannon means you're basically never wasting ammo on smaller enemies (though you'll probably spend ammo on hunters)
supply pack is just a carried resupply (love that thing) (free grenades, free stims, AND free ammo. very nice to have.)
whatever orbital you bring, they've all got uses.
my favorite part is that it's fairly low level, and pretty accessible for all skill levels, meaning it's a good build for newer players.
it also stands up to higher difficulties.
it's not exactly meta, but i like it, and i don't have everything else unlocked yet anyways.
Perfect video dude, I hate Titan.
Nice one! Using it as a lure reminds me of distractor beacon from HD1 💯
It's super fun trying to come up with many combinations that *will* work well! Enjoy the hunt and cheers for the sub
Saw someone running a build which was the shield generator relay and then sentrys inside of it. Worked pretty well
It's a small thing, but setting the redeemer (the machine pistol) to semi auto does so much to help its performance.
1000% this!
I approve this service message.
shield and the electric slow was op
Another potential strat: 4 flamers. The whole team bunkers down in the shield and melts anything that comes close. Focus fire chargers to absolutely evaporate them in seconds. If you can't quite get the trick of the titan reflect strategy, bring a couple expendables. OR, since we're grouped up and safe anyway, we can finally make use of the team reload, to use spears or recoilless at maximum efficiency and pulverize titans as they approach
On higher difficulties, have someone bring an autocannon or railgun to deal with distant bile spewers.
What we currently need is some sort of:
a) lure - could be a helldivers cutout with a siren attached that would lure in bugs/alert cyborgs enough for them to try to turn said cutout into shreds with sheer firepower or (proposed by somebody else on reddit) a small pistol turrent that is armored like a tank
b) screecher/ultrasound/infrared blaster - something that would disturb bugs for them to either step aside (this could be proper flamethrower utility - usually living beings are scared of fire); as for cyborgs it could fry their targeting system's FoF identification (or simply could scramble their optics for a while)
These would be purely distraction tools with no real firepower, but with enough Democratic Power for Helldivers to survive another 5 minutes (Helldivers are cheap to produce, but 1 stratagem might be cheaper than gear of 4 Helldivers)
This not only redeemed the shield for my use case, but indirectly also the flame thrower (which I often found near useless as hunters would constantly spread the fire towards me)
gonna use this, but how long till patched
Man, these are incredible discoveries. What on Super Earth inspired you to try the shield generator versus bugs?
