His songs were such easy listening that I didn't realize how good they were at the time. This is the same fault I ascribed to others routinely at the time. We all get locked into our own worlds and try so hard to exclude so many others. This song is about quitting such nonsense and recognizing the gifts of the hearts you have around you instead of spinning off into your own spaces that push people away. How beautifully that is expressed by Palmer here. How embracing and healing and loving a song. It's good and sweet and on-spirit enough to last for the ages. I constantly find myself wanting to listen to this song, especially on the hard days.
