True gentleman, nice to everyone, devoted family guy etc. I was really impressed by that. Anyway thanks for posting, what a timeless, beautiful song!
piotor arman Mr. Palmer died from a myocardial infarction where a blood vessel in his heart became blocked and heart tissue died as a result. Over 3 million people in the US die of MIs each year and very few of their deaths are due to cocaine use. (There are heart studies that indicate MIs can increase soon after the use of cocaine- like up to 8 hours after use.) Mr. Palmer reportedly had hypertension which influenced his condition. Most people who die as a result of MI have personal habits that lead to heart disease: smoking, high cholesterol diet, lack of exercise and stress. Some would include alcohol in the list. In my opinion, these had a far greater contribution to the blockage than any cocaine use Mr. Palmer may have had earlier in life. Besides, I do not think there is any proof to substantiate your claim that his heart attack was associated with cocaine.
Sign of true class, he sounds as good live as off an album. The loss of this great talent is hard to measure, he was so uber cool and yet under the radar at all times. Band simply out of this world too, no one trying to out do the next person, pure class.

It's gonna take us all, every kinda people, to show what life's about. How wonderful these beauties that were amongst us, but there's more where he came from. Come together people.
You all should know......the guy who wrote this (Andy Fraser) joined Free at 15, played incredible bass for them and inspired and substantially co-wrote 'All Right Now' for that band, before forming other bands and making songwriting his main trade, penning songs covered by the likes of Joe Cocker, Chaka Khan, Ted Nugent, Paul Carrack, and Rod Stewart. All other songs apart, just imagine being the creator of 'All Right Now' AND 'Every Kinda People'....Whew !!! A great, overlooked talent taken from us at age 62, nearly 2 years ago on 16/3/2015....way too soon. ** RIP Andy - a rare and special talent **
Never knew that. I was a big Free fan back in early 70s and later was overseas when Bad Company played. The Stealer was good too. It was on flip side of 45 of a hit, maybe "All Right Now."
British folks have always tapped into soul music...sometimes you have to be on the outside looking in to see the real picture. You have to go abroad to realize music treasures. Folks in Europe diggin' blues and country music...so cool.

A brilliant song and an absolute classic take here by Robert and the whole band hitting on 8 cylinders. Drums and bass so locked in you can tell that groove had Robert seriously inspired to deliver that vocal. I'd be shocked if you could ever find a better live version of this song than this.

This is Joe? The drummer? If so, my cap is TIPPED big time to you sir. What a groove. This recording is amazing, everyone locked in.
Thank you!!!!
Thanks. I always love knowing the players in the band.
Robert Palmer was ahead of his time. He had soul. His voice and demeanor both held beauty. I believe he's singing in Heaven with the angels now... I, for one, miss him. "God bless his soul."
Such a Class Act. If I had the power to bring someone back from the Grave it would be Robert Palmer so he could grace the world with that eternal cry in his soulful voice. Alas, youth is beautiful and life is precious!
Eileen St. Lauren
yes. . .very nice. He's a fantastic talent.
One day I'm going to write a book and pray it's opted for a movie and request this song as its beginning / title soundtrack.
Eileen Saint Lauren Good luck. Hope it is as positive as this song.
Thank you! Me too! Just signed with a literary agent. Ever listen to Stevie Nicks' "Rooms on Fire?" (Official Music Version) or "If Anyone Falls," (Official Music Version) Both have that "sublime quality & cry" in her voice similar to Robert Palmer. Though they are two very distinctive talents & voices...Uniquely able to dip into the soul of their listeners.
what an awesome bass line
yeah funky!
Written by Andy Fraser, who played bass for British rock band Free.
Bob Babbit played the original bass line. Awesome
Jim Jamerson playing here....Steve J.
What a bassist
What a handsome stylish man he was, so talented too, had it all. Very missed.
Dynamite in a package of class
Timeless! Died way too young!
Tears in my eyes ; Listening to this soulful, funky , masterpiece .
Bass is playing an incredible groove.
Robert ; really appreciate incredible ,
high quality music .
James Bond of Rock & Roll ..
Bless your soul !!
🏆🎷🙋♂️
Bass player is killing it!!!!
A very positive song for such a negative world. Holdfast to what is good.
tHE WORLD THEN WASN'T NEARLY AS NEGATIVE AS IT IS TODAY.

I’m 53 and always like Robert Palmer. I never thought I’d say this but I’ve seen some recent live Harry Styles and he gives me Robert Palmer vibes.
Isn't life beautiful! The fight to make ends meet, keeps us on our feet. The even bigger fight to be free, is to show we can't be bought.
** RIP Andy - a rare and special talent **
david rowell yes. mr. big!!
Never knew that. I was a big Free fan back in early 70s and later was overseas when Bad Company played. The Stealer was good too. It was on flip side of 45 of a hit, maybe "All Right Now."
i booked Free ..March 13 Arts Ball ...Blackpool UK....
This song is the shit. What a bass line and great vocal.
TWAT
@@alandoyle5733 in America "this song is the shit" is a compliment. "This song is shit" is an insult. Sorry British people. :)
I read it “this song is shit” first time
fantastic. A real band with no computers
RIP Robert. What a great loss to music.
So sad we have lost both Robert Palmer, and now Andy Frazier, who wrote this song. Xo / RIP
British folks have always tapped into soul music...sometimes you have to be on the outside looking in to see the real picture. You have to go abroad to realize music treasures. Folks in Europe diggin' blues and country music...so cool.
I agree my brother ✊🏽
I LIVE IN MUSCLE sHOALS ALABAMA. IN THE 60S, bRITISH ARTISTS WERE TRYING SO HARD TO GET THAT MUSCLE sHOALS sOUL AND fUNK. tHE bEATLES FOUGHT THE STONES OVER SONGS By a Black artist i Florence, Alabama. his name was Arthur Alexander. The music was so alive here that musc;le shoals was dubbed the HIT RECORDING cAPITAL OF THE wORLD! HEADY TIMES FOR A TOWN OF 7 THOUSAND PEOPLE!
Your right, what's so weird about it, only 1 black person that's British that can sing is Seal.
Smooth and class....a true vocalist. One of the most underrated talents of all time!
There was a clarity in his voice that enabled the listener to hear and feel every lyric he was singing. Wonderful artist.
My favorite Robert Palmer song. Love it and love him. Pure class. Rip.
Robert Palmer in a word . Genuine .
Genius!
The kind of music that makes one feel good about life and how I see others .
A vision even in the seventies, I was 25 at the time and loved his voice, looks, class and most of all his talent. He is a great loss to the music industry. Heaven to listen to and look at. I miss him so much
One Fine looking man! Oh! and yes an AMAZING talent.
I only discovered Fraser penned this song when I read his obituary: it's a great anthem to passion and manhood sung by a rare commodity: an Englishman who could sing soulfully.
I believe there are/were many Englishmen who could sing soulfully.
There are no shortage of those. The English are great artists.
@@lambertwolterbeekmuller7268 Agree Brings to my mind....The Moody Blues...for example "Question"....I'm lookin' for someone to change my life...Also "Nights in White Satin"...

Robert Palmer had one of those soulful and beautiful voices. One of my favorites. I love that he is singing this live.....not always the case on Midnight Special. Miss you RP!
this song should be taught in all schools throughout the world, perhaps it would contribute makingt this world a bit better
We had some of the best music in the 70"s
"There's no profit in deceit...honest men know that revenge does not taste sweet....". A mantra to live by.
Marvelous. It's a classical Robert Palmer song ( one of many). It gives me strong feelings and brings back memories...What can I say... This talented man died too young. He had a brilliant idea of music combining Soul, Reggae, Jazz and Blues. He will be missed.
My God,I miss Robert more then I can say,R.I.P. Mr.Palmer!
I think this was his best performance ever..........revealed his soul, his rhythm, his kismet. What charisma, what heart.........beautiful man, inside and out xo
I absolutely Love Robert Palmer and am so sad he left us way too soon
Love this song, he sang so soulful. Mr. Palmer, your very much missed......
Pure class. RIP Robert. Respect.
This man had soul
His songs were ahead of their time... Always 2-3 years ahead of what the "current" sound of the day was.
Robert Palmer was and still is Top shelf to me,I loved is range and vocal delivery....may he always rest in peace
Lovely man, lovely music. We miss you Robert!!!
Sadly, Europe doesn't make them like this anymore
Miss you dearly. RIH A TRUE LEGEND!!! Hall of Fame is where he needs to be…
Voice + Style + Smooth + Class = One Cool Dude
Bless Midnight Special...live bands and performances of talented artists. Mr. Palmer is a true treasure...and this band is killin' it! RIP!
What a voice, what a loss but what a legacy.
I love how this song is arranged. Everything fits together like a puzzle. Also, Robert Palmer was one sexy dude, if a straight guy can say such a thing, LOL!
mootbooxle most straight guys can’t admit another guys good looks.
This was my fight song , played it before I went to work everyday.
HE INTERPRUPTED SOUL SO WELL
Man i miss this good looking Englishman !
We miss you Robert. Thank you for what you left us - especially this song. It really helped me through a heartbreaking time in my life.
A beautiful man with a great gift taken to soon.
Who needs this in 2020
I seen Robert in Nuernberg Germany in 1981,,,,he was great....
A great song by a soulful singer. Miss him.
Robert, you released a fabulous range of music. Always loved your voice
So underrated as an artist, in every sense of the word.
God given talent...your missed Bob.
1978... Nobody Cooler than Robert Palmer ....2017 Nothings Changed..
Sixty years old and remember all his wonderful music. Fabulous voice, control and rhythm. Takes me back and loving it. Still so very fresh today. Missing him, especially today on the anniversary of his very untimely and early death. Makes me incrediby joyous every time I listen to him. Rock on, Robert xxx
I've heard this song for years. Never knew it was Robert. Never knew he sang this kind of mellow stuff.
If you like this song, check out "Can we still be friends"
beautiful beautiful beautiful man
great song and he looks so cool as he always did.
This world could sure use this frame of thought these days! What a beautiful song. Honest men know that revenge does not taste sweet, every kind of people!
Robert Palmer could sing any type of music in different genres . From jazz, pop and r&b and rock
Class, style and substance.Unlike todays useless pop music.....
RIP Robert Palmer, you were without a doubt the best.
A brilliant song and an absolute classic take here by Robert and the whole band hitting on 8 cylinders. Drums and bass so locked in you can tell that groove had Robert seriously inspired to deliver that vocal. I'd be shocked if you could ever find a better live version of this song than this.
I have this in iTunes library. Every time I hear it I get choked up! This song is so meaningful and profound. Sad to know such a wonderful singer passed away so young.
¡Feliz cumple #73 a esa maravilla! Nació 19 de enero de 1949.
I just choked up too 😔
You are so "right On!!
I remember so well when my girlfriend turned me on to Robert Palmer on the 70's. I was 18 when this was shown on The Midnight Special. Good memories!
