    This was so helpful. Love your intro about having grace and patience.
    I relapsed on my first autoimmune issue in Sept and in Oct I was in the hospital and placed on high prednisone. Then the Drs. found out I have ANOTHER autoimmune issue that has been effecting my lungs. So I am now on long term prednisone at 20mg and hopefully can taper to 10-15mg. I have moon face and I hate it, I have also gained weight not too much but enough that I can now feel it. I already lost 50lbs this year and I refuse to gain it all back. My primary Dr. wants me to loose weight because I am still heavy and it would really help my inflammation in the lungs. I told him that I will start slow and I don’t want to pressure myself because I am still overwhelmed with/all that I am dealing with as it pertains to my health.

    I’m on a prednisone taper again for a Crohn’s flareup. (Terminal ileitis) And I have to be on this Low Residue Diet and I HATE it! I was in remission for 5 years. It’s so frustrating! Low residue is so hard because, so many carbs! I’m not eating refined carbs, candy, cookies, junk food in general. So I can’t have nuts, raw veggies or fruits, (canned veggies are ok but they’re disgusting, steamed are ok but I can’t have leafy greens or any of my favorite veggies), grains, I have to be careful about the types of meats I eat or proteins in general. No dried fruits. It’s upsetting. I’m also lactose intolerant. I’ve been on this rollercoaster before and I never thought I’d be back here 5 years later. It’s really upsetting. I met so many of my fitness goals over the last 5 years and I just don’t want to be back here. And I don’t know how long I’ll be tapering, not knowing is horrible.

      @@PrednisonePharmacist Just giving feedback to assist (I hope). I would like to see you be successful with your channel. While i am at it I think you need more colour and variation in your voice. It also does not work to think while you are talking. You need to have all your material prepared before you start to talk. Some RUclipsrs are brilliant at delivering long complex material without stopping to think. One that comes to mind is Indie Naidell who does history. His voice is full of variations in emphasis, tone and colour and he raises a dry historical talk to an artistic performance. If you watch him you will see he is very assertive and punchy with his information and all of the above really give his talks life and make them fascinating. Again good luck with your very useful channel.

      +Andrew Blake these are great tips. That would be awesome to have the production team of Indy’s The Great War channel. It really is very well done. I gotta admit I listened longer than I anticipated about a battle I’ve never heard of and would have fallen asleep reading about! He brought it to life.
      Hopefully some day I can have a team like that one!
      And I really appreciate your feedback and tips.

    I have a friend who is taking 75-80 milligrams a day orally. She has gastroparesis and addisons. She is extremely frustrated with the weight gain and fluid retention. She tells me the fluid retention not only causes weight gain but makes her hurt from swelling. She said she is hopeful that one day she can tamper down to 10-30 milligrams depending on how she takes them orally or through the veins. Theoretically, what would the difference in side affects be if my friend got to a point where her doctors approved of her taking a moderate dose versus a very high 75-80 milligrams dose?

    • @PrednisonePharmacist
      @PrednisonePharmacist  3 года назад +1

      The difference in side effects can be huge with a 50%+ drop like that. I can only imagine how uncomfortable she must be right now!

      @@PrednisonePharmacist thank you so much for the reply. Given her adrenal insufficiency I know that she’ll be steroid dependent the rest of her life but if I’m not mistaken, for people taking steroids for adrenal insufficiency isn’t there a way to take just the right amount of steroids so you don’t have the negative side effects but get just the right amount of cortisol and aldosterone you need to live? Hard to explain over RUclips comments but I hope that makes sense.
