HI Dr. Megan, My sister-in-law has been taking high doses of prednisone that she buys under the counter for years. She is Asia and eats a LOT of white Thai jasmine rice. She eats is with every meal, every day. Is this safe? I am trying to get her off prednisone, but it is very difficult.
I was taking prednisone in the morning but for 2 reasons I don’t do it any more: 1) I am very sore and stiff for hours upon awakening and therefore unproductive (no kickstart to the day because I am in pain and/or stiffness). 2) It conflicts with my supplements. It is highly recommended that most of the common supplements be taken in the morning with food because they are fat soluble. B12 is water soluble but it is recommended it be taken in the morning. I am not sure if b12 conflicts with prednisone if taken at the same time.
@liveyouryoga never mix pills together unless you want side effects and all of that business, I was taking 1mg prednisone once a day and no other pills just that no side effects, then I switched to 2 prednisone pill's every other day, that way I had a whole day to take my other pill's in the morning and late at night 10pm or 11pm then in the morning I'd get up and take 2 prednisone pill's with a banana and lay back down for a few hours so that when I woke up I was able to drink coffee with no problem's of interactions, now I take 2 prednisone 1mg pill's every 3 day's so that prednisone doesn't do to harm to my body, as long as your getting steroids's in your body inflammation still goes down no side effects no pain , drink lot's of water and eat berries and anti inflammatory food's, the only difference is your doing it all slowly at your own pace without no side effects and all of that crazy business and you can go about your day doing whatever you want and not have to lay around feeling sick and this and that, the higher amount of pill's you take that's just to make thing's go quicker that's all that is, as long as you have the steroid prednisone in your system your go to good at any pace that you want, you can choose to go slower or quicker, I'd rather take the slower easier way than go quicker and feel sick and like that at a high dose bullshit on on that business, talk to your doctor about prednisone 1mg dose if you want to go a slower at your own pace, remember it's your body and you do what's best for you because your the one that has to deal with your situation not the doctor everyone know's how they feel, good luck to you and hang in there

Prednisone gives me hiccups!
I've had a recent flare-up of my 17 year old myasthenia gravis and am on pulse methyl Prednisone 1mg infusions per day for three days a month. I get left lower abdomen aches and gastric problems and watery stools after the third day. Loperamide doesnt help much. What could?
