Good question. It makes a lot more sense to have your blood glucose high when it is normally high than when it should be lower (while you sleep). During the day you can move your body to use up the glucose, whereas at bedtime you can't.
I got PMR a couple months ago and was put on prednisone. And because of that, I've watched most of your videos. But I disagree with this one. I did take the full prescription in the morning but the time I got to bed I couldn't sleep because I was in so much pain. So I cut the dosage in half... half in the morning and half in the early evening, and that solved the problem. No insomnia.

Originally I was on 40mg per day. After weeks at a time I tapered to 30, 20, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1mg per day. When I got to 3mg per day I started to feel aches throughout my entire body when I get up and down. After 14 days I went to 2mg per day. Aches got worse. Now I am on 1mg per day for 9 days. Very achy when I get up and down but I am okay when moving. I want to get off the pill. Doctors are not much help. They say “try it and get back with me.” I will stop taking the pill after 14 days of taking 1mg. I am thinking I can get off the pill and just deal with a few aches when I get up and down. Any comments?

Currently on 3 not feeling much better than before. I’m wondering if it really helped in the end. Every few weeks when I’ve had enough and need some relief I bump up to 10-15 for a couple of days. A prednisone holiday I call it.
I find that the gastric acid problem happens when the prednisolone effects wear off. Not during their effect. And with the side effects from tapering off PPIs (like drop in executive functioning skills [especially for adhd and autistic patients], confusion etc) i would prefer using sodium bicarbonate against reflux
I got prescribed prednisone for chronic bronchitis I get from allergies, it's true. Prednisone does take your sleep away. One day I took it late and I could not sleep at night that day. It was horrible.
I didn't have trouble sleeping the first night......but ive been taking it the throughout the day , he didn't give me any instructions ugh is it to late to take it all at once starting today, I've already taken 2 doses today
