Just got mine in today. Initially folding my phone was very awkward but now, I kinda love it! I was even trying to fold my old phone 😂 It's really nice being able to close my phone, you get a mental rest.
Great review as always! Wanted to share my thoughts after switching to the Z Flip 5 after using iPhone for the last 10 years. Been using the Z Flip 5 for the last few days:
1) Camera - compared to the 14pro, 14pro 48mp wide camera is better and telephoto is nice. But for everyday use and someone who is NOT an influencer/uses social media all the time - this is more than good enough.
2) The crease - you can feel and see the crease but honestly, just like the iphone notch, you forget about it. Most of the time your hands are closer to the bottom anyway.
3) Being able to use all the apps and respond to all my messages on the cover screen has significantly reduced how often i need to open the phone and end up doomscrolling. This was the main reason why I switched.
4) As a regular user (instagram here and there, texting, i also don't game) - battery life was comparable to iphone 13/14. I took it off the charger yesterday around 10:30am at 100% - it was around 30% when I went to bed around 12:30am and I just put it for charging now at 15% roughly 24h later. For me this is good enough.

For me the battery even better, almost 2 days. Of course if I play games (I don't) or using it constantly i can kill it in 1 day.
In the long term, the battery goes worse.

I think it's worth mentioning that Samsung has an incredible trade in program regardless of what pgone you have which makes the price point more acceptable. For example, I was able to trade in mu flip 4 for $900 and all I had to pay was the difference plus tax of the original price which came out to be about $250 and free shipping.

Dont get rid of your iphone, you are going to need it, the battery its horrible, and the camera its ok, but my iphone xr had better camera and battery.
@@fantasmaacido1773 As a Samsung user with too many Apple users around me, I can tell you're lucky. I know no Apple user without battery issues and I never had such thing.
I appreciate the effort you put into filming in a variety of locations! Not only does it keep the video visually interesting, it really helps people like me who like to see how the phone looks in a variety of real locations. Sometimes it's hard to get a sense of the color of a device off the manfacturer's digital renders or someone reviewing inside their studio/bedroom.
I preordered this phone and I can't wait to get it. I've viewed tons of videos on this phone and yours is by far the best. Fun, informative, and to the point. Well done!

This was the first phone review video I ever saw that showed gaming performance and mentioned thermal throttling. Awesome work, seriously. I hope you will also do a long-term review once the phone is a few months old. Keep up the awesome work!
Got the Fold 5 yesterday as my first Foldable. Great device and Im confident with the incremental durability of this 5th gen device. Oh, and the new s pen case is a must...great protection and not bulky at all.
OF COURSE there will be a crease, wtf are people expecting???
I have been watching reviews of the flip for the past week and you are the first one that pointed out what I consider to be a major shortfall. I assumed wrongfully that it included DEX capability just like every other flagship and I had just confirmed you are correct by looking at my daughter's phone that I had just bought her. In this case, it doesn't really matter because she doesn't use that feature but it is still quite surprising and many people might be assuming it's there when making the purchase. We'll done Ella!

I hope modern phones do transition into this eventually, and I hope more phones like this keep appearing in the market and getting improved! the portability is amazing, especially for women's jeans. It's unbelievable that the tech industry cared more about this than the stupid fashion industry...like..for the love of God, why do I have to carry a freaking purse just to safely carry my phone? just because it won't fit in my pocket!
I know they probably were not thinking on women's jeans specifically, but still..

Watching this on my flip 5 flex window. What really surprised me the most is the battery life. I thought I would easily ran out of battery but noooo. It's all good for me so far and I'm loving new flip 5. It's really fun to use.

switched from an iphone 13 to this and my god am i loving it. got a nice pixel art icon pack to go with the retro gaming aesthetic im going with for my wallpaper, the customisability is insane, and i love using the flex window as well. the battery life has been very good too, better than i had originally thought.

I'm typing this on a Flip 5 that arrived early. So far, I am loving this phone. Switching from a fold4, I was afraid to lose the perks of the bigger screen, but with my lifestyle, the Flip 5 is better suited.
I tested the cameras las night in a low light setting and the flip5 came on top in most videos and photos until I reached 3x zoom.
What no review led has mentioned is that although the flip5 has surround sound, it is not as "full" as the fold 4 or even the s23 ultra. It's not obvious with things like RUclips videos, but when listening to music or gaming, the lower frequency sounds on the Flip 5 are lacking. Something I didn't expect to find.

Honestly its such a pretty phone, pretty convenient with the cover screen. The widgets seem so fun and i looove using widgets. I could definitely see myself owning one, shame the camera is still a work in process in certain areas, do they allow "custom" color for the phone itself, like in the past? Anyways! Great video!!
I think the trackpad would he very useful for those whose hands are full or cant reach the top of the screen when doing something. I like the idea, some people might find it useful
I’ve been an iPhone user but wasn’t really swayed by the iPhone 15 range after checking them out in-store- saw this online and went ahead with the blind buy. These are the type of videos that are selling me on getting one of these. I’ve been using my iPhone 12 mini for the past two years, and I’m just looking for a change of pace. I’ve been using Apple products similar to the iPod than the evolution of the iPhone every generation up until the 12th and I think it’s time for a change. Hopefully going this week to get one.

@@multi-stan-Gurl I had my flip 3 for 18 months, but traded it in for the flip 5 and part of my package with EE .. I loved my flip 3 and used it every day, it was always reliable too .. but I love my flip 5 as well, the bigger cover screen is awesome! ❤️ maybe you should check out both the phones you like before getting one, but I will say the flip 5 hasn’t disappointed me at all 🥰 xx

Are you using your flip as your main device or do you have like a back up phone? I notice that in the earlier releases a lot of people have been using iPhone + flip which I don't think is smart lol. Did you experience a lot of problems with it? Do you think it'll last for at least 3-4 years?

If Samsung keeps up their insane preorder trade in promos, I'll def upgrade yearly. Here's hoping they at least improve the camera hardware next year, bc theyre getting so close to the ideal flip foldable

overall i think this is a big improvement for the flip 5 not only in the performance but just the design improvements one dissapointment no macro, dont know how long term would be with these, since ive heard of them break,but i think this one is the one i would get for myself.

Informative review, thank you. I have the flip 3 which I love, I use a magnetic car mount on top half since bottom is the wireless charging. Doesn’t look like flip5 has a spot for a metal mount on the top. I may have to change my car mount.
