      While Metal Gear is a masterpiece, there are most certainly other _older_ titles that are still analyzed to this day. Those others certainly deserve credit where it's due. Fallout, Deus Ex, System Shock, Planescape: Torment.

    Mgs, especially 2 and 3 basically defined me as a young adult. I was influenced heavily by 3, it was the last game I played before my mom died, played through3 in its entirety during a really bad flu during Christmas break in 2004(2005?) I'll never forget how impactful MGS was to me as a child, with the NES games, as a 10/11 year old with MGS1, a young teen with MGS2, a young adolescent with MGS3, never got to play MGS4 until adulthood, so maybe it had less of an influence on me; I'll always be partial to the first 3 games on the ps1/ps2.

The first thing to do is write the plot and the cutscenes were almost all shown 2 to 3 years before the game came out. How does that feel incomplete to you ? The sound Otacon made that on that Patriot mention could've been heard from across the Hudson River. That crispy "P" enunciation, lol.

    Playing through MGS2 again for the 10th time right now with the Master Collection. Best game in the franchise imo.

    Ever notice the BSA is basically the Resident Evil version of Philanthropy? First games surviving heroes joining a group dedicated to wiping out the main threat of the franchise.

    Anyone that played the series in order knows what actually is going on the tanker mission setup the big shell and it was a simulation created by the patriots to reawaken Raiden so he can kill his mentor solids aka George sears this entire simulation is based on the metal gear solid game but there was one thing the patriots failed to calculate the response of solid snake himself thanks to snake and Raiden the attack on the big shell was resolved and Ray Ray away setting up metal gear solid 4 Raidens passed came back X10 and he went dark and came back as lightning in metal gear solid 4 leaving rose and his child unprotected from the patriots which is why toy Campbell married rose to shield her and her child I can continue on this was type before the opening so yeah

    What I don't get is that Marines can't put uniformed or even armed soldiers on deck because they'd rise too much suspicion (fair enough), but Gurlukovich men have no problem patrolling outside in full Spetznaz gear.

    • @TehUltimateSnake
      @TehUltimateSnake 4 месяца назад +1

      It's more like the Marines didn't want to arise suspicion from enemies like the Russians that they were transporting a Metal Gear inside that tanker but of course, the Russians already had intel on that.

    Someone should talk about what the story line of MGS III was supposed to be about.

    Factually? It's not quite clear what really happened, as the story later on alludes that "Tanker" chapter might be a by-Patriots-altered-chain of events, turned VR mission for rookies like Raiden. Afteral, I have always found it somewhat questionable how Snake went into this so ill-prepared.

    I don’t have time to watch the video right now, but I’ve always had questions about this.
    Ocelot said that “he came to take it (Ray) back.”
    Back to who? The Patriots? How did it get out of their possession in the first place?

    • @arrmigliato
      @arrmigliato 2 года назад +2

      As he said in the essay, the Marine corps probably used some of the Patriots money to develop Ray; hence the "taking it back" thing.

    Yo, Jorin, quick question: What's the name of the track around the 23 minute mark? It's got that funky little recurring synth motif, I know it from the cutscene where Snake goes on about virtual training simulation, but I could never find the name of the track.

    • @kidkangaroo5213
      @kidkangaroo5213 2 года назад

      @Espen Meling Sele I mean, yeah, I know where it plays, I just never found the corresponding song. I just assumed there was no clean rip without Snake and Raiden talking over it, but this video is proof that it does exist, so I'll guess I'll have to take another dive

      @Espen Meling Sele F-F-F-FOUND IT: ruclips.net/video/mNs2rrSOdxQ/видео.html Apparently I was right that nobody was able to rip it without the conversation over it, but it was included in "The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2". Don't understand where though, but whatever
