Also, regarding the leeches, you can use bug spray to prevent them from attaching. It's actually a reference to the vietnam war era bug spray, the soldiers never used it for bugs (since it was close to useless), they used it to kill leaches.
Additional XD - If you use the stun grenade on the fear, you can use either the AK47, or the M16, and despite being lethal, because he is stunned by the grenade, it deals non-lethal damage.

That food mechanic was amazing. Your food would spoil in real time. Also, if you ate something poisonous enough, it would lose it effect. If you ate something too much, it would lose its effectiveness. Also, if you eat something you don't like, you will end up liking it a little more. Your stamina will reflect that.
Whole MGS3 was full of details like these. Living snakes could be thrown at guards and poison them and the green mushrooms you often found in caves or moist places refills your battery when eating it SIMPLY BECAUSE snake just believed it would fill up his batteries when he calls paramedic about it.
Wish that the hunger drained a little faster in the game, or food was a little less "everywhere", I (and i'm guessing alot of other people) never really got to use these mechanics simply because food is everywhere in game, I never once had an issue with starvation
There IS a way to deplete your stamina manually if you want to go for a No Stamina Run whenever the game forcibly restores it for you. 14:39 Well it's rather simple. Photosynthesis is technically how plant life eats. So you'd be "eating" sunlight to regain stamina if you put on the Moss camo, and thus fail the challenge. 🙂
In the cave I'm pretty sure if you just laid down for the 10 minutes you actually would have recovered some stamina in that time instead of losing it, whenever Snake stops to rest his stamina should slowly recover, unless your deeply wounded I think. I could be wrong about the whole thing but I've been playing a lot of MGS3 lately so I think that's what would happen
Was hoping you’d do more mgs challenges, your video was what finally pushed me to play through the first 3 after putting it off for ages and I can’t thank you enough for that! Hope you make more of these
fun fact about the fear: if you take the fake death pill and wait for him to turn around, you can equip the torch(if you found it in the caves) and can sneak up behind him and just hold the torch under him until whichever bar that method takes(i can't remember) finishes off.
Yes, I do that all the time. For some reason the game isn’t programmed to accept fire as incoming damage to the fear, so it will drain his health bar down to near zero. Not exactly zero, so you can literally use any weapon (except tranq gun) to kill him without any effort. I just take the knife, litterally one slice will kill him.
Challenge iidea: Can you beat Fallout New Vegas As Snake? Sneak, guns and probably unarmed for tag skills with other skill being medicine, melee weapons and survival. Use silenced weapons for stealth or unarmed for big fights like cqc. Join the NCR and use companions like Boone, Rex and other companions similar to military roles. Use different faction armour to 'infiltrate' other factions.
Love to see that the MGS Fanbase still exists and thrives with awesome challenges like these. Found the stamina bar was pretty easy to manage EXCEPT when in Grozniy Grad. Would have loved to see a bigger prison section, where you actually carefully have to plan your outbreak, similiar to the ketchup trick in MGS1.
Idea: "beat Fallout 3 by carrying a knife to a gun fight and viceversa" I mean you have to use a melee weapon to attack enemies using guns and using guns to kill enemies using melee weapons
That's a fun idea, but I think the logistics might be difficult. Sometimes you're fighting groups of enemies, some of which have guns and some of which have melee weapons, and having to constantly switch back and forth might be more trouble than it's worth.
As someone who doesn’t know anything really about allergies I’d assume you can be allergic just to like bee particles, or allergic to the toxin from their stingers or both
I’m pretty sure it’s from the stinger itself, since from what I know, people who are allergic to bees only have an allergic reaction after they’ve been stung.
as far as im aware a bee allergy normally refers to bee stings, i dont know if you can be allergic to bees themselves but i guess anything possible, allergies are basically just your body over reacting to something its unfamiliar to, kinda like those videos of people putting their hands in random boxes to feel whats inside, if you dont like it your gonna jerk it out even at your own detriment. moral of the story: people with allergies are just drama queens, i have no allergies.
The Fury is my favorite boss fight also the cutscene changes depending on what you have equipped such as the torch, nightvision goggles, and thermal goggles
I'm really glad you're here to play these Metal Gear games since I know I never will and I'm pretty sure the only time I ever actually did play one of them was in a demo for the PS1 lol. That being said... Can you beat [Nerbit's favorite MGS game] with no stealth? Can you beat [Same as above] while naked? Can you beat New Vegas as Jeff Bezos? (ONLY use money to win. Use bribery as much as you can, and the Sawed-off shotty coin shot for the rest) Can you beat Skyrim as Dracula?
My friend. First, what an amazing challenge, well done! It was very obvious you'd kill The End, one tranq dart from him and your run is done. And yeah it was probably easier than you thought because after meeting EVA in the waterfall, you'll probably never ever eat again during the game. Second, for the Fear, you could actually use the AK-47 during the first run to do the exact same thing you said you could do with the Patriot. The AK is found right after the first Ocelot Unit fight after meeting EVA. Third tip: for the Scientists, if you run around with your trusty box, they'll look at you amused but not trigger an alarm. And finally, right after the EVA cutscene behind the waterfall, in the tunnel there are Tree Frogs that you could capture alive (tranq them) and then toss at Volgin. Since they are alive they'll be on thr ground and Volgin will notice them and start attacking them, but you should protect the Tree Frogs since they'll act as lightning rods for you. Hope that helps you in the future!
I knew about the stomach growling! One of my brothers was playing it and Snake's stomach began growling. He thought it was crocodiles, I said it sounded like Snake was hungry. I was right XD Also fun fact: Sokolov didn't actually die. He appears in another game
I think in your case when Snake got captured, the restoration of a bit of stamina can be explained as Snake getting a chance to rest when he was unconscious, since getting stamina back isn't just through eating, its implied Snake is going to sleep every time he calls Paramedic to save
It might be interesting to see something like "Can you beat Snake Eater while Naked?" Since I think the (Naked) Camo gives you really terrible camo for all areas, makes you take more damage and is just all around a hindrance. Of course you *can* do it, but might be something to attempt sometime?
17:41 since they give you food when you wake up, i think it's because they feed him in the prison. they feed him just so that he's not malnourished. this is why we get 2 bars of stamina in that part.
I remember playing this on my nth playthrough as as kid, I tried using the fake death pill and resurrection pill and it bypasses the Sorrow fight when you fight him. The attention to detail in this game is really cool.
I remember getting so extremely frustrated fighting the Sorrow. I probably spent hours trying to pass that level and I think I was smashing the controller against the carpet after dying during the death screen again only for it to open up the items menu and I was like: ??????? and then proceeded to realize what I had to do next
Attempt #3: Nerbit I challenge you to a "Full auto institute pistol only" challenge. Only a basic, unmodded institute pistol (except the full auto mod). It does like 6 damage, and uses laser ammo to boot. Its literally worse then the pipe pistol.
@@Nerbit13098 my other idea for Starfield is can you beat it as Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly( includes getting the ship to look like the Serenity). But wait until a vanilla run to do that.
The fact that you say about the cutscenes “I still watch just a few of them because I just can’t help myself” that is the most relatable thing ever. I’ll just do a personal speed run through the game and get distracted watching cutscenes and forget I’m doing a speed run. 😅
I finished that recently too problem is I suck at metal gear games I usually just kill everyone and with peace walker it meant I had to play through the game practically twice.
More “Can You Beat X Without Y” need to happen from every single channel that has ever done these types of videos. More exposure for metal gear, more challenges to try for ourselves as fans.
8:14 i love how metal gear games can be brutally difficult sometimes at least for noobs like me but if you really just can't get trough something the game might give you a little helping push
its actually kind of a chad move that you didnt try to hold up the end, because you could cheese the challenge by restoring stamina in moss camo lol, love the mgs3 vids nerbit please do more!
I've only ever played V and that was helping my dad, but with what I did know about MGS the moment you said stamina (along with the no eating from the title) I knew your stomach would alert guards, which I assume is the "better at stealth", not constantly telling guards where you are is good for stealth
12:30 This strategy can still be applied very easily, just outside of the lab with Granin inside of it, there's an armory adjacent to the building, inside the armory is the XM16E1. You can use said assault rifle in the same way, it's often how I dispatch him.
Sorry I haven't been watching the videos recently I've been busy I think this is a good point for me to jump back on Metal Gear Solid 3 changed my life a couple years back when I first got it on the PlayStation 2
Always love to see some new variety challenges. If you want to stick with metal gear then might I suggest “can you beat metal gear by playing call of duty”? No stealth, no silence, only balls to the wall running and fighting people out in the open with loud, lethal weaponry.
I CANT WAIT FOR THE REMAKE, also, never knew your eyes adjust in the cave, im still finding things out about mgs 3 to this day and ive played the game like 200 times
If you do any more challenges in MGS3. Fun fact. In the Fear fight you did the 1sr half of the speedrun trick but not the 2nd. Yes you 1st fake death, revive and stun fear. After that you can actually unload an AK into him while he's stunned and you kill him NON leathaly. It's strange...but it works
Beat MGS1-3 on my brothers PlayStation/ps2, never played 4 and finished the story (well as much as Konami finished) of MGS 5… watching your video made me really want a remaster of Snake Eater. It really was the best
In The Fear’s boss fight. You actually don’t need to have the Patriot to do the trick you showed. The AK-47 will work all the same. Also, the M-37 shotgun is in the cave before the Pain, which also will break off his bee armor. Faster than a grenade if you’re good at button mashing. P.S. if you equip the cardboard box, you can run right past any scientists you see . They will just stand there and look at you and not cause an alert.
Definitely going to rewatch these MGS videos for when I actually play the games due to me getting the legacy collection versions of the MGS HD collection and MGS4 to make my life easier with all the tricks you showed. And I also had an idea for a spinoff's version of the "Can you beat the entire metal gear saga before the end dies of old age" video, basically you do the same thing, but you play the games you didn't play. (Ie, MGS Ghost Bable on the GBC, Portable Ops, Ac!d 1&2 for the PSP, it's your decision if you want include stuff like the NES games, VR Missions, Portable Ops plus's single player stuff, and Survive, (If Survive even has an ending) though I wouldn't hold it aganist you if you didn't want to play those, and you kinda already played Rising so I don't really see a point in playing it there, that's pretty much all I have to say about that idea so...)
Nice video Nerbit. With Paul from Mitten Squad facing some issues, you are being the #1 game challenger to what. A worthy sucessor for Paul should the worst come to happen.
Here's a suggestion for a Fallout 4 run: Can you beat FO4 as a child. Basically you have to change the scale of the player character to the size of a child, reduce walking and sprinting speed and halve the amount of SPECIAL points you start with. No, you can't be invincible. You also can't use heavy weapons or power armor as it wouldn't work realistically (even though this is Fallout).

Not exactly zero, so you can literally use any weapon (except tranq gun) to kill him without any effort. I just take the knife, litterally one slice will kill him.
I'm glad you're continuing to do Metal Gear challenges, I really enjoy your little references in all of the videos, it's like obscure bites of gold
I hope to see more Metal Gear videos in the rotation. Maybe even branch out into other games, if you want of course.
It's not often you see Metal Gear Solid challenges like this, I can't wait to see more like this from you!
It would be cool to start doing more metal gear runs
I like to think the big video was essentially the opening of the flood gates for more Metal Gear content lol
@@Nerbit13098 good
How about a full Stealth Run, but you play as naked Snake...literally?
Love to see that the MGS Fanbase still exists and thrives with awesome challenges like these. Found the stamina bar was pretty easy to manage EXCEPT when in Grozniy Grad. Would have loved to see a bigger prison section, where you actually carefully have to plan your outbreak, similiar to the ketchup trick in MGS1.
In Portable Ops, Snake just fucking dies if your stamina runs out
Well I guess getting the moss camo to recover stamina from sunlight would have made the challenge too easy.
3:08 The few patients profiles I've seen with that allergy always classify it as bee sting
I don’t even play MGS and I still love these videos. Came for New Vegas, stayed for Nerbit
As someone who doesn’t know anything really about allergies I’d assume you can be allergic just to like bee particles, or allergic to the toxin from their stingers or both
See that's what I was thinking so I was like is it a bee allergy or a bee sting lol
I’m pretty sure it’s from the stinger itself, since from what I know, people who are allergic to bees only have an allergic reaction after they’ve been stung.
Somebody should make a mod that replaces the bees with cazadores.
@@desertdude540 that’s evil!
*I like it!*
as far as im aware a bee allergy normally refers to bee stings, i dont know if you can be allergic to bees themselves but i guess anything possible, allergies are basically just your body over reacting to something its unfamiliar to, kinda like those videos of people putting their hands in random boxes to feel whats inside, if you dont like it your gonna jerk it out even at your own detriment. moral of the story: people with allergies are just drama queens, i have no allergies.
This reminds me of things I used to do with games from this era. I never tried anything as painful as this though. Hats off to ya.
I guess some days he's not feeding on a Tree Frog.
Ah, my favorite game; Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake.
12 year old me did this challenge but not on purpose lol
I haven't even played metal gear before, but I'm always thoroughly entertained with the newest nerbit upload . Well done on another banger dude
Use bribery as much as you can, and the Sawed-off shotty coin shot for the rest)
Can you beat Skyrim as Dracula?
13:31 possibly my favorite part of the video
Looking forward to seeing more MGS challenges!
Attempt #3:
Nerbit I challenge you to a "Full auto institute pistol only" challenge. Only a basic, unmodded institute pistol (except the full auto mod). It does like 6 damage, and uses laser ammo to boot. Its literally worse then the pipe pistol.
Your other MGS video actually made me play through all the games for the first time! Just finished MGS4 last night, wha an amazing franchise
Can you beat Dragon's Dogma without leveling up? Or when you get Starfield can you beat it with only a small craft.
I am genuinely very excited to see what kind of crazy runs I can do in Starfield :)
Impressive, very nice. Now let's see Phantom Pain without -kidnapping- recruiting -prisoners of war- willing participants!
We can now refer you as "Starving Snake", great video as always.
You know...I totally forgot it was Friday 😅
I was just then in the middle of rewatching your NV Decoy Octopus run 😂
Have a good Easter man 😊
Thanks man, you too :)
Naked Snake is without clothes, and Starving Snake is without food. Now all we need is Dehydrated Snake to complete the resource-deprived trifecta.
Fun fact, a couple of hours ago, I finished MGS: Peace Walker!
Congestion you done it!
Congrats, Peace Walker is awesome yet sadly criminally underrated
@@Nerbit13098 Yeah and it's my first MGS game, I was thinking of doing Portable Ops or Twin Snakes!
@@FangOriona Thanks man, I made sure I was mostly stealthy.
Do this on the remake when it comes out
Came back here to say this
i saw this and went "Why yes. Yes you can." instantly. no hesitation.
Can you beat fallout new Vegas as Jack the Ripper.
Fun fact: you can shoot the question marks and exclamation points above enemies heads and it will count as a headshot!
8:14 i love how metal gear games can be brutally difficult sometimes at least for noobs like me but if you really just can't get trough something the game might give you a little helping push
10:38 - Big Boss does strike me as the kind of guy who would know how to win a war.....cut the supply line and wait the enemy out.
14:56 Bloodborne too! "Like a dream, and, visions of snake!"
its actually kind of a chad move that you didnt try to hold up the end, because you could cheese the challenge by restoring stamina in moss camo lol, love the mgs3 vids nerbit please do more!
YAYYYYYYY!!! So happy to see another metal gear video from you.
I've only ever played V and that was helping my dad, but with what I did know about MGS the moment you said stamina (along with the no eating from the title) I knew your stomach would alert guards, which I assume is the "better at stealth", not constantly telling guards where you are is good for stealth
Everyone is allergic to bees, Its just how allergic you are.
Loving the metal gear content, and I think others are too, keep it up Nerb
12:30 This strategy can still be applied very easily, just outside of the lab with Granin inside of it, there's an armory adjacent to the building, inside the armory is the XM16E1. You can use said assault rifle in the same way, it's often how I dispatch him.
I've watched your new vegas videos for a while and this is the first metal gear solid video I've watched and honestly now I want to get the game
Sorry I haven't been watching the videos recently I've been busy I think this is a good point for me to jump back on Metal Gear Solid 3 changed my life a couple years back when I first got it on the PlayStation 2
Love your challenges dude!
Thanks man :)
Always love to see some new variety challenges. If you want to stick with metal gear then might I suggest “can you beat metal gear by playing call of duty”? No stealth, no silence, only balls to the wall running and fighting people out in the open with loud, lethal weaponry.
You even went through the game twice to show us the effect of The Boss’s patriot on The Fear. Bravo!
I CANT WAIT FOR THE REMAKE, also, never knew your eyes adjust in the cave, im still finding things out about mgs 3 to this day and ive played the game like 200 times
1:08 I think what the game meant with "sneak less efficiently" was the stomach rumbles you mentioned later
A good reason to not use the moss camo is because photosynthesis is technically eating.
Well, you know what that means! Next run has to be New Game + with Spider Camo only.
So when can we expect "Can You Beat Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Without Walking?"
What a thrilling adventure of Tactical Espionage Action, featuring protagonist, John Snake-Eater
Here's a suggestion for a Fallout 4 run:
Can you beat FO4 as a child.
Basically you have to change the scale of the player character to the size of a child, reduce walking and sprinting speed and halve the amount of SPECIAL points you start with. No, you can't be invincible. You also can't use heavy weapons or power armor as it wouldn't work realistically (even though this is Fallout).
Skyrim, but you can only increase your skills using skill teachers
Now you're just playing Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake er
