After 30 years of being an aerospace systems programmer when I retired I never programmed another thing. Being a hobby machinist I thought getting a 3-D printer would be the next evolution. After looking at various reviews on RUclips. Yesterday I ordered the Infomech TX. Having not received it yet, and after being blindsided by the hundred dollars shipping fee, I am still cautiously optimistic that I will be happy with this machine. I did order the accessory pack. I guess we’ll see how long it takes to get it.
Not a good idea getting a printer from an unknown chinese brand even though it performs well. I would have ponied up the extra dough and get a A1 or a P1P. Good luck,
If you have the time, watch the live unboxing and first prints I did. Will give you a good idea of what that experience will be like. For what it’s worth, I’ve been using the machine since then and it’s been very impressive. I don’t know another machine I’d recommend if someone asked me what budget oriented enclosed machine I’d recommend. Another major note is that it uses open source firmware and parts you can order yourself. So you don’t have to rely on a single brand, especially if you want to tinker. And lastly, you have to be ok with how Bambu does their accounts and cloud management. Not everyone like that. Especially if you read their privacy docs.

I ordered and the printer took about a week to arrive after it shipped, so far it's been fantastic. Have not had a failed print after having it about a week and over 50h print time on the printer.
It’s a small gamble but my understanding is the parent company is known and after they become established the price will go up as is evident by the added shipping cost and when it comes right down to it they’re all unknown to me
I have 4 A5Ms and I love them all. Easy to use, fast, was cheap at the time, and produces great prints. I do agree it has quirky adhesion issues at times, but agree about the speeds and at times I increase the bed temps. It has been less of an issue now that I make a habit of washing my build plates for dust and any built up glue residue.

Great comparison! I love my 5M - decided on it once I saw your live when you got yours. No adhesion issues with PLA, PTEG AND TPU, other than silk PLA which didn’t want to stick well. A higher bed temp and using some brims helped on the smaller parts. Plus slowed it down a bit.
Same i have no adhesion issues on my 5M and i often do print comparisons of it vs my Bambu P1P and a lot of the time the 5M has superior quality in the prints
Great video. I retired my Artillery Genius printers and purchased an A1 mini because I realized that 90% of the things I print will fit on the print bed. I have had it for about a month and it just works and is quiet. I did purchase an A1 to print the stuff that will not fit on the A1 mini and so far it is flawless. it in not as quiet as the A1 mini. I want to add a core xy machine and the Infomech tx looks like a promising option. I purchased an Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro and it is a good printer but even with the auxiliary fans off you could not be is the same room when it was running. I had to send it back. You and other reviewers have mentioned that the Infomech tx is a quiet printer. Quiet helps keep piece around here.
I bought the Infimech TX at the beginning of the month. I am still waiting for it to be shipped. The accessories are back in stock right now and they added a printer/accessory combo for $340, so you do save money there.... Shipping is still $100 thou. Honestly, I don't mind paying the extra in shipping after seeing some pretty good reviews of the unit. I did order the accessories, which i hope ship at the same time. I ended up emailing them this past week to ask about getting an update on the shipping. They replied the next day and said it would ship next week.

Went to buy the Infimech but apparently they've since added an additional $100 shipping fee. which to me makes it a much harder sale.

Although the A1 mini isn’t a corexy 220x220 machine I think it was really smart to include the A1 mini because of the price and what you get. Great video.
Hey Jon 😊 ya know what realized about the buildplate size on the Bambu, yes, it is smaller but this thing prints right to the edge. My Aquila is... I think it's 230x230 but there's at least a 10mm area on all 4 sides that's never used that makes it even smaller, then take into account the purge line that runs down either the side or front, more wasted space. I was really surprised just how close to the edge it prints. It's still smaller, don't get me wrong but it's a bit deceptive
That’s what I was saying about the Micron I’m building. People were asking why you’d build a 180mm Voron. Because you’d be surprised how useful it is with out the bulk.

I have a Flashforge Adventurer 5M (AD5M) and a Bambu X1 Carbon. The AD5M is very close in quality to the X1C and is faster in speed as it has faster flow rates through its nozzle. Where Bambu shines, and against all these printers, is the Bambu UI and Ecosystem. Flashforge did a good job with an out of box experience but its not as polished as Bambu or has the Bambu Handy. A newbie could still use the AD5M but I still feel the Bambu A1 or mini is a better printer for the new user to the 3D printer world. NOW-- the AD5M is a GREAT tinkerer machine. It is a copy of the P1P or the P1S if you go with the AD5M Pro. It runs on Klipper, though "klipped" because it's marketed for new users. But you could take it and run with it.
Spot on. Only thing to consider is that the X1 Carbon is 4 times the cost of the AD5M.
@@3DPrintSOS yep! Which is why I couldn't afford another one. I do love it and it fails more times than what most folks think that it does. Even with all the sensors and science (aka magic), it's still 3D printing. But because of its ecosystem and it's more reliable than my old Ender 3, it has become a gold standard for the market.
Flashforge has a "handy app" now that does the same things as Bambus app

The always on fan on the 5M is the PSU, swapped mine out for a meanwell now completely silent when idle. The price point for a core xy for me can't be beaten, often refurbs direct from flashforge on amazon warehouse too for about 20-30% off, personally I couldn't go back to a bed slinger now, have two 5m's and a 5m pro and a bambu p1s with ams and the flashforge sees the most use, couldn't recommend them anymore. The hotends are on the pricey side yes, but it is a full assembly and not just a nozzle.

Same here, I use my 5M 3 times as much as my P1P/AMS printer. It just prints better
@@augustopaixao8911 they're basically the same, 5m pro being enclosed and has the filtration for ABS and ASA, the camera is ok too, other than those features it's basically the same printer as the 5m.
Does the Infimech TX make good sharp corners or are the corners overshot and rounded?

I'm rooting for AD5M because I'm obviously biased ;) but I wonder how it compares to Bambu anything. Will be watching very interesting.
I can help with that. I own both a Bambu P1P and a Ff 5M. With 100% honesty i will say about 80% of the time the 5M has cleaner, higher quality prints when i run it at the same speed as the Bambu. My Bambu as well as my buddies X1C and my brothers P1S ALL show some form of banding. Especially on taller prints

I used to be an Open Source guy, however, since I got my X1 Carbon Combo I can see the value in closed source as long as the company continues to update the printer.
When the third-party screen firmware was released I was quite impressed with its features but did not want to flash it as I thought Bambu Lab will implement some of the features, so far they haven't though and I have upgraded my printers firmware so I believe that is no longer an option.
Regarding the Infimech printer, I believe you also have a VAT charge on top of that and there is no mention at what rate it is, I guess you find out once you order, just like the shipping fee you only get to find out once you order the printer, being an Englishman VAT is included in the price we pay and so there are no hidden costs in anything we buy retail in the UK.
Oh I totally get it. As long as you are cool with all the cloud stuff, Bambu is super attractive. Also the x1 Carbon is like 4-5 times the cost of these machines haha.
No Vat for the US but obviously can’t speak on other countries.
@@3DPrintSOS Yeah I do have a few concerns about using the cloud services, could I use an old cell phone or tablet with its own Google and email account just for the X1C?
Not as far as I know. You can only use their services. With that said, you CAN make a network for just the machine. That would limit access to any other devices you have on the network to only the machine and whatever apps you use to interact with it. I think there are a few vids on this out there.

No contest, The infimech is the better buy. It prints superior and is just made better. If you need multicolor them just buy a Cobra 3 combo at $429 to go with the Infimech....And still it would cost you $200 less than just the 1 P1S

Misinformation on the shipping costs of Infimech, it's not $100 but $90. I know that's not a lot of difference but to someone with fixed income it is. I also want to mention that Bambu and Prusa also charge shipping on (IMO) overpriced machines. The shipping charges stopped me from both my attempts to buy either Bambu ($25) on a $599 machine or Prusa $50 (plus import taxes and fees) on a $799 Kit, not even assembled, so was overpriced (IMO)! As for the add ons yes I witnessed that too. But, I kept checking the site daily and ended up getting them pretty soon after the original order. With them apparently flying off the shelves it's understandable why they would sell out of the desirable add ons so quickly.
UPDATE the shipping cost did increase to $99 and the accessories are currently available (at the time this was updated 10:45 A.M. CST 5/26/2024) for $57.90 with free shipping.
I checked at the time of filming and to my location in my cart it was $100. That’s not misinformation. Also, all the prices included shipping costs at checkout. I did it myself.

I got INFIMECH TX for the $299, but for accessories I have to wait. They just released an option to get internal parts and print your own housing for this accessories.
I still haven’t gotten any accessories. :/

Infimech told me that they are trying to land some machines, in the US, in June and that will address the shipping issue. They need to get their accessories supply sorted out also.
Im rooting for them. If the machine was junk, I would care less, but this thing impresses me.
I have the 5m. I don't have any of the other printers, but it's at least 3 times faster the my Neo 2
Every Bambu printer i have ever seen prints from including my own have banding. Its inherant in Bambu machines. And the reason Bambu makes you signup, code the machine to you is because they are data mining. This has been proven several times by several people. Even if you dont do firmware uodates, you have to register the machine when you first get it.

kingroon fan is NOT always on,its Pi fan is turns 30c on, but if u raise PI fan to 40c its mostly off
Mine has an always on power supply fan. No matter the temps.
OMG the rear power buttons are SO frustrating, I'm glad you mentioned that. Maybe some of the 3D printer gods will be listening.

Amazing machine. One of current favorites. But the price was just a bit too high to compare it to these.
I'm back, watched the whole thing. Me, personally, wouldn't touch the Infimech with your ten foot pole. The Adventurer would be my 2nd pick, but gosh I love my Bambu, I was getting burnt out on having to fix my printers and try to find parts for them, that's not what I want from the hobby. The other day I went to start a print and the thing told me it was time to oil the rails, I almost cried. 😂

Zooms, I now have 5 AD5M's. I could have saved and got less printers and maybe just a couple Bambu or high end ones,......
But the AD5M performs so nicely, there was no need.
I made a video but I didn't publish it, unboxing the ad5m, and have a benchie printed, with in less than 30 minutes from cutting open the tape. And that's including the time it takes to print which is around 16 minutes 17 minutes somewhere around there.
The auto calibration is really really nice, the interface is extremely straightforward and easy for the user to understand And wrap your head around.
And then the orca - flashforge slicer is icing on the cake. Version of orca made just for this line of printers.
And the ad5m is very modable, because the chassis, if you look at the front, there is tons of little screw holes everywhere (with no screws in them) lol it seems to me, and I am grateful for it, but somebody put holes all in the machine so we can mod our little hearts out.
I have heard people complain about the software that the screen is running? But I don't know too much about that, I haven't dipped into that side of 3D printing yet, and actually changing firmwares and messing with clipper and stuff like that.
I started on an ender 3s1, which was a really slow printer. I didn't know though, I thought it was going fast.
You should have seen the look on my face, the day I unboxed an ad5m.. And after it finished that first slow layer...... And it sped up to $600/mms......dude.... It was like a freaking rocket taking off and my mouth hit the floor I was like holy smoke! No joke I actually took a step back, surprised that the thing jumped like that. Lol it came to life
Thanks Zoomy, this was a three week endeavor. Almost got burned out. But now that’s it’s done, I’m happy.
On another note, that infimech TX machine has been a trouble free beast. Highly recommend it. But I get why someone would be turned off by it. It’s ok, tons of options out there.

@@3DPrintSOS Same here. Messed up a print because it fell off, but I'm ok with that because it's so fast. I've actually started to print at 90% speed for bed adhesion and to keep the extruder assembly intact.

I have kpl1 of the first revision, my God, what a pain it is, I still can't bring it to mind and a year has passed, I will never buy their printer again in principle in my life
In your conclusion, you talk about the Flashforge being not into entry level machines, however, that couldn't be farther from the truth... The Finder and Adventurer printers have been their go to entry level printers for many, many years. The Finder by itself has sold many times what a lot of the other companies have ever sold combined. I've recommended the Finder for beginners for years as it's just such a great machine... and the Adventurer series follows it into the same marketspace. (The big difference between them is that the Finder didn't have a heated bed, but the Adventurer series added it.)
I've been a printer for 5 years now and had never heard of Flashforge until about a month ago. So glad I did, but they probably want to up that marketing or get them in more streamers' hands.
@@AdamHennebeck They've been known for quite a while... for example, it was Joel Telling's first printer and how he got started. They also produce a lot of other companies printers, for example, Makerbot's are mostly made by Flashforge... as well as the printers sold by Monoprice and Microcenter. They're one of the first companies that was truly successful.
