    I think Dyson made a really nice product here! I do think this will be more popular in Southeast Asia markets since most people have hardwood floors, don't usually have a carpet, live in a smaller house (60-90sqm). But the hair getting stuck in the axials are my deal breaker since it is too troublesome. For now though my V8 is still working fine so until I have to replace it, I'll stick to it.

      I bought mine on a BF/CM sale on QVC and I absolutely love mine. I thought it would be so gimmicky, but it's not. I vacuum in the dark since I have dark flooring and it gets absolutely everything. I found lots of corners and things I missed because you can't "see" the dirt/hair. I had an old V6 cordless and this thing cleans as well if not better than my Ball Allergen Upright. I haven't touched my broom since getting it either. I'm gonna get another battery just to have the extra flexibility, and I want the hose and dusting kit for the car.

Unfortunately even the fluffy roller head that Dyson sells for the V11 in the UK is not available in the US, and if you do find a reseller for it on this side of the Atlantic, it'll be around $150 including shipping. Now, if the omni-glide head were available as a plug-in attachment for the V11 or even the V15, that would be worth the price, given it's greater versatility over the standard fluffy roller.

      "Whoosh"
      Also: Dyson's cordless vacuums score atrociously in reliability tests. The batteries are one of the fastest to loose power on the whole market, far worse than products like Xiaomi, dreame etc. and they have the WORST reliability report after 5 years of ALL tested wireless vacuums.
      If you buy a cordless vacuum, especially a Dyson you give up reliability and longevity (as well as power of course), for slightly better ease of use.
      Miele vacuums have been traditionally the best reliability and longevity wise, but most well regarded corded vacuums, including Dyson, lasts at least thrice as long, as cordless, that will inevitably fill up landfills in a few years.
      Edit:
      I'm not saying "Don't get a cordless", I'm saying: don't get a Dyson cordless, and especially not as a replacement for your old corded one but rather an addition.

    I think Dyson made this vacuum for kitchen use because it seams like you leave it in your kitchen hidden somewhere easy to use and you just grab it when you spill your Cheerios all over the floor or you spill some fine particles and the reason why the dustbin is so small is because it just meant for “small messes” because why would the bin be this small it’s powerful but doesent last long xiaomi made a quick mess vacuum and it was powerful but didn’t last long and charged with type c but that’s for Japanese homes and not for other country’s like America and the uk.
    It would make sense because say you did cooking for a birthday you got flour all over the floor you just pick it all up and your done around 5 minutes max

      The crevice was skipped, though we can make some guesses from the fact that the sealed suction was around average. I'd be very surprised if the filtration was any worse than other recent Dyson models.

    Having a long haired dog I have yet to find a vacuum where the hair does not wrap around the axles which is a nuisance BUT even worse are those small spinning casters which I see this vacuum also has. Those are even worse to untangle than the brushroll and the main brushroll axles.

  • @JeromeDemers
    @JeromeDemers 3 года назад

    Imagine you created a new test where you would move the head 1m/sec, then 2m/s, etc. over big debris to see how it behaves to pick up stuff. How many cheerios it pick up at 3m/s vs 1m/s for example. Sure when there is a mess you slow down but in general you move fast. I have only hard floor so this seems what i have been waiting for. In winter we have this very short hair carpet for the boots. I am glad you tested. Will have to figure out what to do during winter.

    I have one and like all the parts mentioned here but:
    1. Battery life really isn’t much more than 20 mins, especially on max.
    2. Getting pet fur out of the vac tank is a super PITA.
    That said, it’s great for wood floors, ceiling corners, and baseboards.

    I looked at this model but ended up with the Shark Wandvac system instead. The handle of the shark felt better in both handheld and floor mode with its slight curvature. Haven’t had any complaints with it on my hard floors, but I do wish it had a soft roller like the Dyson. Seems a missed opportunity. Battery life is also quite a bit less.

  • @13mithrandir
    @13mithrandir 3 года назад

    I think that designwise this is a very bold solution to the problem Dyson experienced with one roller head. Tad dissapointed in Dyson that they did not engineer a true innovative new roller head, instead of just adding another one and making the final product twice as big.

    To many issues with cleaning the dyson heads properly. I gave up after having owned 7 different dysons and bought the new LUPE and absolutely love it. So much easier to use on large areas as it basically walks itself across the floor. As I suffer from back issues its a game changer and the battery lasts longer than the dyson.

    • @VacuumWars

  • @emral1vang
    @emral1vang 3 года назад

    Already solved this problem.
    All they need to do is add 2 external suction which sits higher on each roller which will suck up the majority of the bigger/smaller pieces and then the roller would just pick up the stuff the external suction couldn’t.
    Add a wall hanger which plugs into the wall and hang the product on the wall.

    This is a bit random, but can you recommend a small appliance for cleaning tiled *small* bathroom floors? I've actually stopped using a mop, and am instead just getting down on my hands & knees, and simply spray & wipe with cloths. Most of the "dirt" is actually just matted on dust & fibres. A full blown floor cleaner is overkill.

  • @dignan17
    @dignan17 3 года назад +1

    I've found that the Shark cordless vertex can do SOME of these motions with the button that bends the shaft. Plus it let's you get under furniture without bending over like you do in this video.
    Also, looking at those casters I really wonder how well they'll do over time with hair getting caught in them.

  • @tlim

    Do you know if the Omni-Glide can work on low / flat rugs?
    We have a rug in the living room and bedroom that’s very flat / tightly woven and would love to be able to run the Omni-Glide on our hard wood floors and rugs, too.
    Lastly, when you say regular cleaning do you mean after each use? Or a bit less frequent? Sucks (haha) that the axles get tangled up easily. That would be our biggest issue cause we have lots of long woman hair all over.

    • @VacuumWars
      @VacuumWars  3 года назад

      I think it would get some of the surface debris on a very low pile, but it won't be like other vacuums. So with cleaning - the frequency will always depend on your own household's mileage and the amount getting picked up.
