Now do eyes without a face!
What you said...no doubt. My personal favorite
killer song
Definitely do that one
The whole dang Rebel Yell album!!!
I agree
Billy's guitar player, Steve Stevens, is incredibly good.
hell yeah! he played on Vince Neil's solo album and also played the Top Gun Anthem from the movie
What a name xD
Those of you that want more more more of Steve's amazing chops check out the two Black Light Syndrome cds. It'll blow you away! You were warned :)
It's a nice day for a light sweater....
It's a nice day for a, CAAAAAARDIGAN!🧥🤘
Lol like a weird Al version, that’d be funny
iconic 80s song.. the vibe and vocals make this one rise above the repetition.
I'm hearing this song for the first time in like 20 years. I'm picking up on a lot of "ear candy" I never noticed before. Or those little nuances that Ryan and George would say make the song fly.
Same
It's thicker than I remember
"Cradle of Love" should be one to check out as well. Billy Idol is definitely one of the best of the 80's; he was just cool.
Came here to suggest Cradle of Love and Shock To The System, both songs kick ass!!!
@@toddhall5565 Shock To The System is a banger for sure.
I love Cradle of Love…but would it fly with them?
"FLESH FOR FANTASY"👍👍
'Flesh For Fantasy' is my vote for the next Billy Idol reaction.
Eyes Without A Face is a really atmospheric song from Billy where his singing ability comes through. Blue Highway, also from the Rebel Yell album, is another favourite of mine.
I remember me and my sister dressing our little brother up as Billy Idol for Halloween one year when he was about 4 or so. He was so damned cute. And to have been as little as he was he played the hell out of it too, even down to that trademark Billy Idol snarl 🤣
I dressed as Billy Idol one Halloween as well but that a number of years ago when I was about 35.
Dancing by myself from the same album would be a good song to react to.
Love Billy Idol !! Great reaction!! I can’t believe y’all haven’t reacted to Skid Row yet! Sebastian Bach’s vocals are freakin Amazing !
One of those perfect artists for the 80's. The look, the sound, the attitude. He had it all.
I saw him perform back in May and Billy and Steve still got it. So charismatic and so fun to watch. 'Hot In The City' is my favorite.
Ditto. Still so fun to see.
Steve still has it. Maybe Billy had a bad night when I saw him last but he was nothing like he was even 20 yrs ago, much less 40.
Top of my list of "Songs You should Not Play at a Wedding Reception, but I Have Nonetheless Heard at Wedding Receptions"
Steve Stevens is the guitarist. He did the guitar work on Michael Jackson’s song Dirty Diana, and is in the video for the song as well.
My favourite version of this song is the unplugged version with Steve Stevens on the guitar.
Same! "Storytellers" That acoustic guitar solo is insane!
Actually I was thinking of "Rebel Yell"
I think Billy Idol is an example of somebody with definite talent, surrounding himself with the right people to make the best of the talent he has through their talent. Almost everything he does is good if he's working with Steve Stevens who is a phenomenal guitar player. Billy Idol was successful at one point, but I think he has more underground success in the long term than he's had mainstream. Kind of an artist that's just always going to be around because his music is always going to be good.
Generation X should be checked out by Billy Idol fans - killer punk band, with Billy leading them with his stellar vocals.
If ya wanna hear Billy Idol at his best and I know you like Black Sabbath then check out "Tony Iommi feat. Billy Idol - Into the night" on the IOMMI album. It's great
Dude, Ty for that. Never that before. Loved it.
Definitely need to listen to part 1 & 2 together. Eyes Without A Face is fantastic. Dancing With Myself is awesome. Rock the Cradle. There are definitely several songs you could react to / analyze and critique. You guys really aren't even "Reactors" at this point. I'd consider you legit music critics. I tune in not just for the reaction, but the perspectives and breakdowns you guys give.
Music critics are useless and pointless and most of them don't even play a musical instrument and have never been in a band before. True story. "Critics" and reviewers are as pointless as real estate agents. No need for them at all.
Rebel yell was my fav album, with all the keyboards and guitar work every song was amazing
Steve Stevens is an underrated guitarist imo
one of the best MTV music videos ever..............
Billy is just cool!!! He and Steve Stevens are magical!
Steve Stevens is a great guitarist! Saw Billy Idol live back in the 80’s with The Cult as the opening band.
Hey guys! I hope y'all can get to "eyes without a face" if y'all haven't heard it already :) truly one of my favorite Billy Idol songs. One thing I found out is that in the song, a french woman's vocal can be heard in the background of the chorus saying "faceless eyes" by Apple translator, and "eyes without face" by Google translator. Idk I just thought that was cool lol. You guys should check it out!!
Steve Stevens is a killer guitarist 🎸
The Boon-dikkins LMFAOOO
Eyes Without A Face should be next
Flesh for Fantasy next! \m/
Ryan was singing some opera when he sang, "White Wedding"🤣
The break down in EYES WITHOUT A FACE is a must listen
Please react to "Cradle of Love".... such an underrated song! for Billy idol actually had an injury and still did the video with a cool backdrop of him singing on the wall through "newer technology" back in 1990.
Flesh for Fantasy..smokes the rest of everything he did..its just fffffckin smooth! ✌
I still listen to him on the regular. It never has gotten old.
Billy is iconic of the early days of MTV
Hot in the City's vocal is unbelievable. Listen to that. Pure eighties.
Be very, very wary of that Part 2. It is a deeeep dive into 80s sounds.
I saw him live in Loveland Colorado a few weeks ago. He was great, still.
This song was ALL OVER Mtv in 1982/83.
Next up: Mony Mony
A personal favorite of mine from Billy Idol is Cradle of Love. Fun fact, the music video was directed by famed holly director David Fincher in one of his first projects
Steve Stevens has been my favorite guitarist since the 80s. Always the coolest riffs and he can shred.
This song will always remind me of Bam Margera and his CKY videos from back in the day.
If you think this song is good by itself, I have a recommendation for you: start it up when you're driving on a city highway, with the streetlights flashing past, going under overpasses etc. It is SUCH a good nighttime driving song.
Eyes Without a Face w/video=fire . Guitarist played on Michael Jackson's song Dirty Diana
I loved the music video of this on MTV. It's dope.
The "Part 1" seems to be simply an alternative way of saying it is a "radio/single edit" or some such, cos White Wedding "Parts I & II" (aka Shotgun Mix) appears on his 1989 remix compilation, Vital Idol, a collection of 8 of his best/biggest hits remixed into longer durations with little sonic extras to make the songs pop more. White Wedding "Shotgun Remix" (as it's called on Vital Idol), basically sounds the same as the "Part I" from the original album, at least for the first half (ergo being "Part 1") ; once it gets into where the guitar solo would normally commence, that's when the extended instrumentals and expanded refrains come in (ergo "Part 2"). This full 8½-minute "Shotgun" mix of both "Parts I & II" is really worth checking out, assuming you dig this song in its "radio friendly" Part-1 format.
Part 2 by itself does not exist as a single track (at least not officially).
😂😂 "white wedding" with the hands... hilarious
DANG!!! Reading these comments and suggestions, is making me realize just how AMAZING Billy Idol is. Every single one of these suggestions are total fire tracks! 🔥
You might remember Billy idol in wedding singer in case you've seen the movie with Adam Sandler
part 2, keeps it going and then it gives you sauce, you didn't know the song needed the sauce, until you get the sauce, then your like " oh Hell yeah, sing it Billy", ha
Steve Steven always does the job !!!! check "flesh for fantasy" !!!!!
It's a certified banger/classic
Why the hell to we have to keep seeing that same meaningless intro!?? WTF!!???
Ryan & George, your reaction podcasts along with POLO REACTS are the most authentic reactions. Keep up the good work fellas.
billy idol was a true rock star, he embraced the lifestyle, he was a bit of a bad boy back then lol
Totally agree with y'all! Always been my favourite Billy Idol track.
Love Billy!! His new EP is great and the song “Bitter Taste” is phenomenal! Check it out!!!
I've always thought Billy sounded alot like Jim Morrison from The Doors. Then I found out he did a cover of The Doors 'L.A. Woman' and I was blown away. Helluva cover of a great Doors song by Mr. Idol 🤘🤘
He was supposed to play Jim Morrison in the movie but got into a motorcycle accident and messed his leg up pretty bad so he couldn't physically play the part. However, they wanted him to still be a part of the movie so they gave him a minor role that wouldn't require much physical activity.
@@jasonmatthews806 Val Kilmer looked so much like Morrison you started doing the math on his birth date (Were the Doors in his hometown 9-10 months before hand?)
@@brianmiller1077 He looked Alot like him. Kool thing about Kilmer, anytime they were on stage, He was Actually singing. He was talking about doing a Doors cover band but I guess it fizzled out. Too bad cuz that would've been pretty fkn kool 😎
Steve Steven's was the heartbeat of the band. That's why Michael Jackson had him do all his early guitar work (except for EVH on Beat It) along with Janet Jackson
God we had the best music, all across the genres in the 80’s; Rock, Rap, Hip Hop, Disco, Club, House, New Wave, Latin Freestyle, HiNRG, Yacht Rock and even some country; I listened to it ALL ❤
You guys should do the videos they're also iconic
Shock to the system is a song he wrote inspired by the LA riots
I wish y’all would hit up some Bad Company… no one pays any attention to them and they were the shit
Cool Song, cool reaction. Other reaction worthy songs from Billy Idol are Dancing With Myself, Eyes Without a Face, Cradle of Love and maybe Mony Mony,
Part two is, 'D.I.V.O.R.C.E.', by Tammy Wynette.
Steve Stevens (guitarist) got people's attention with this song. Amazing guitarist and very respected back then.
You guys never played GTA San Andreas?
I remember when it came out it definitely always had that punk feel to it for me. He’s a cool dude!
Flesh for Fantasy or Eyes Without a Face next!!!!!
Billy is cool, but for me this track is all about the band. Especially the guitarist, Stevie Stevens. His work with Billy is epic, but the two albums he recorded with Terry Bozzio (drums/percussion) and Tony Levin (Bass/Chapman Stick) are legendary. All instrumental and usually only enjoyed by musicians.
Black Light Syndrome and BLS 2.
🤘🧙♂️🤘
Rich the Ancient Metal Beast
I love Billy Idil. I don’t know why I don’t think of him more. Playlist of all of his songs
Steve Stevens doesn't get enough love imo. One of my all time favorite guitarists.
He started in the punk scene in the late 70’s . And then transition to rock in 80’s. This was because punk was taking off and becoming more mainstream. So his style of singing is punk based blended with rock. This is why it works.
Billy Idol crossed over between the punk and pop world at a time when it was no easy feat (pop looked down on punk and punk absolutely despised pop or at least that was the fashionable posture at the time). Idol had a background (Generation X) and carried a vibe that attracted both worlds without alienating either one which was impressive.
This song came out when I was 11, I loved it then and still do.
Love the reactions! Steve Stevens is the guitarist on this and many other Billy Idol records. Billy Idol would not be a popular if it wasn’t for Stevens. Rebel Yell song is my fav
We need Zach Bryan “something in the orange”
You can see his ghost on tge right of the screen
Do cradle of love and make sure to check out the video
POST SOME MORE MEGADETH PLSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Billy idol just has a knack to make cool music
Billy's new stuff he has been releasing lately is EPIC on all levels!! He and Steve Stevens are song writing machines!!
This song is so iconic to the 80s.
This song sucks, but the tone and theme and atmosphere are excellent and its a catchy song for sure. But id never play it. Billy Idol songs that I do recommend... the kickass multilayered epic that is Flesh For Fantasy, the dope bass line in the moody, haunting and beautiful Eyes Without A Face and the hard rocker Cradle of Love. Those 3 are incredible in every way. Lyrics, vocals, music, guitar solos, rythm, grooves, themes, tone, atmosphere, and style. His biggest hit is Rebel Yell so I left that out. Everyone has heard it many times. Lastly, if you wanna hear that double cheeseburger with extra 80s cheese, then listen to Blue Highway. ✌️
Steve Stevens Rock God!!!
Billy Idol is one of the coolest men to have ever lived.
"Eyes without a face" to make it 3 for 3
If you like the driving, descending bassline in this, you should check out "She Sells Sanctuary" by The Cult. I know you guys rocked out to "Fire Woman", so I think you'll like "She Sells Sanctuary" as well.
Bill idol cradle of love video
There's an extended version of this song that gets trippy and it's brilliant. You guys can follow up on your own time so you don't have to react to it, but it's here on YT called Billy Idol - White Wedding (extended mix) HQ - 8:21 length
CODE ORANGE - TAKE SHAPE
I was a fan of Billy Idol when I was young, and started to find him a bit...corny and simple after a while...? But an interesting song you should listen to that's very different and shows Billy Idol has more to him than White Wedding is Sweet Sixteen. Just a nice, different little thing. Check it out! :)
Tesla - Hang Tough. Been mentioning it every rock video post since the last Tesla Song fellas.
Now do Billy Idol - To Be Lover (Mother of Mercy Mix / Remastered 2002) LOL. Great rhythm and pulse.
Always thought that Billy Idol sounds similar to the Cult. Not vocally, but the semi-hollow electric guitar and punk inspired bass. Always been a fan or both.
This song AND Billy Idol play in "The Wedding Singer" feat. Adam Sandler ... a classic ;)
DAMN. Yeah, you guys fucked-up, cuz it IS one continuous 8+ minute song. Ooops. LOL.
Part 2 is the long version. You want some serious bass check out Flesh for Fantasy (long version) Billy is incredible
